Special for long winter on the sun. 300 sunny days per year Close to the sea and within walking distance of the fishing village of Balerma, Mar Azul is open all year round making it a particularly good choice for … a winter break (booking is recommended). The 220 gravel and hard ground pitches (70-140 sq.m) are in orderly rows and have 16A electricity, water and drainage. The site is relatively new, with just a few trees, low hedges and small palms so artificial shade is provided for the summer months. This site really comes into its own as a base for touring Andalucía. Almeria, a short drive away, has an old quarter, the Alcazaba fortress and a 16th-century Gothic cathedral; Granada with the Alhambra, the Generalife Gardens and the Cathedral; the Cabo de Gata National Park, the Tabernas Desert with his Western Movies Scenerys and the Alpujarras White Villages are also among the region’s many attractions. The site is in an area where intense agriculture under plastic is the main economic activity. FACILITIES Two modern, heated and well maintained sanitary blocks with hot showers and facilities for disabled visitors. Launderette. Dog shower. Motorcaravan services and washing. Small supermarket.
