A very nice campsite run by a German with lots of greenery, well located to drive the Lautaret and Galibier passes.

This is how I imagine a campsite to be: a bit winding, so that everyone can find their own tent pitch where they can have their peace and quiet. Well-maintained sanitary facilities. An operator (a German) who posts the weather forecast for the next few days on his door every evening and with whom you... can talk for hours - if you want - about the ski touring opportunities in the area. Plus the endless climbing possibilities in the best limestone and the legendary cycle routes (Tour de France). And harvesting mirabelle plums right outside the tent in the fall... And it's all so cheap that you'll want to stay for months. Sounds like paradise - and it is.
