Quiet location by the river
Camping La Chatonnière borders the banks of the Ille. The river has been dammed up near the camp and white sand has been piled up on the banks. Children can play wonderfully on the beach in the shallow waters of the Ille. There are generously parceled out pitches with plenty of trees to provide shade.... There is also a large, covered terrace with table tennis and covered picnic areas. I was there with my motorcycle and tent and felt very comfortable. The camp offers a bread roll service and small snacks from the snack bar. The nearest village, Jumilhac-le-Grand, with the Chateau Jumilhac, restaurants, bars and shops, is about 1.5 km away on foot. Camp Chatonnière was one of the most beautiful places of my entire trip to France. It is extremely quiet on the site and the operators are very, very friendly.
