Great campground for relaxing
A beautiful, well-maintained campground.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
We felt right at home. The swimming lake was also great and was especially popular with our kids.

When we finally arrived at 10:45 p.m. after our car broke down, the security staff was very friendly, escorted us to our site, and gave us a quick orientation.

We received a very warm welcome. The campground was spotless—even though we were parked on the group field, everything was excellent. The restrooms were super clean and well-spaced throughout the campground. Dog owners will also enjoy their stay; they’ve thought of everything. The restaurant served delicious food, had great service, and the prices were totally reasonable. The bread roll service worked wonderfully. You can even rent refrigerators at the campground, and there are 24/7 vending machines at the entrance with snacks, drinks, and little extras for camping. For me, it’s 6 out of 5 stars. We were only there to test out our trailer, but now we’ll be spending weekends there more often.

You can only pay for the bread rolls in cash. Some long-term campsites leave something to be desired, but you can’t see them from the regular campsites unless you take a walk around the area. I wish the operators would be stricter about that. But that’s really just complaining on a very high level.
Best Family-Friendly and Natural Campground

We were only there to test out our trailer, but now we’ll be spending weekends there more often because it’s just so nice. The recreational activities around the campground are also incredibly good. There’s plenty organized for kids. Supermarkets are also just about a 5-minute bike ride away.

The only minor drawback, in our opinion, is that the showers can only be used until 10 p.m. I'm sure there are good reasons for this, but it would be nice if they were open longer—especially during the summer months. Other than that, everything was excellent.
An all-around wonderful stay—we'll be back!
We stayed at the Münsterland Eichenhof campground from July 3 to July 5, 2026, and felt completely at home. The newly renovated restroom facilities were clean and very well maintained at all times—a big shout-out to the cleaning team. The entire staff was also exceptionally friendly, warm, and helpful.... Thanks to the online check-in, our arrival went completely smoothly. We loved the Sunday breakfast at Gasthaus Eichenhof: For under €16, you get a generous buffet with a wide selection and very attentive service. Feldmarksee is within easy walking distance. There, you can visit the beautiful beach or simply enjoy the ice cream shop and restaurants by the lake on your own. We’d love to come back!

Thank you also for your feedback regarding the shower hours. Unfortunately, the nightly closure between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM is necessary to prevent vandalism and misuse of the showers during the night. We are aware that this can be somewhat restrictive for some guests, especially in the summer. That is why we regularly review whether and how we can make improvements in this area in the future.

The new washhouse is nice, even if it's not quite finished yet. The swimming lake and online booking

The restrooms are new, but much too small and too far away. Also, they aren't finished yet, so there are only two sinks for everyone. Upon arrival, we didn't get the reserved spot, but instead a very poor alternative. Cleanliness is poor—not worthy of 5 stars.
It was tough even before we got there, and it stayed that way…
Even before we arrived, we received a call saying that the family currently staying at the spot we’d chosen wanted to stay there. We were offered an alternative, even though we’d specifically chosen that exact spot for ourselves over two months ago.
The alternative was terrible, and we only stayed because... we were just passing through anyway.
We were indeed by the lake, as we’d chosen when booking, but right next to a small restroom and dishwashing station. The campground was full, so there was a lot of activity at the
small restroom building, which had only one toilet per building. The new, large washhouse was simply too far away, so the dishwashing sinks were also used for brushing teeth and other daily hygiene. Since there were no sinks available yet at the new washhouse, everyone on the campground used the two sinks at the small restroom building. So there were lines at the toilets and sinks. Consequently, everything was pretty dirty. At the large washhouse, there were only 4 toilets and 4 showers, so waiting in line was the norm here as well. Cleanliness left much to be desired here, too. Paper was flying around everywhere, since the only place to dry your hands with a hair dryer was in the large washhouses. In the small restroom cabins, there wasn’t even a way to dry your hands. They were like train station restrooms. For days on end (despite a cleaning crew coming in the morning), the men’s urinals were yellow and dirty, and the women’s had the same grime on the flush button. People were running back and forth between our RV and car, even though there was barely any space. People would stop right next to our breakfast table to empty the toilets. Trash disposal is only available at the old site. The information that the pre-ordered rolls had to be picked up by 10 a.m. wasn’t posted anywhere, so we almost missed the deadline. A nice attempt to expand, but not well thought out.

We are very sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations.

We particularly regret the situation regarding the campsite you originally booked. We had already contacted you before your arrival because an unforeseen situation had arisen at the last minute.... This decision was not an easy one for us, as we wanted to avoid having a family with children interrupt their vacation and have to change campsites. We understand that this caused you inconvenience, and we apologize for that. Incidentally, the alternative site we offered is normally one of the most popular lakeside sites at our campground.

However, we cannot quite understand the statement that the new restroom building is too far away. The distance from your campsite to the new restroom building is about 200 meters. Furthermore, the restrooms were located right next to your campsite.

We’re sorry that you found the cleanliness to be inadequate. Especially during peak season, our restroom facilities are cleaned several times a day. Unfortunately, when occupancy is very high, it’s not always possible to remove every bit of dirt immediately between cleaning intervals.

You’re right that the smaller restroom buildings currently don’t have hand dryers. These will be installed this coming winter. The additional sink areas at the new restroom building are also still being completed.

Your comment regarding the bread roll pickup is also valid. We’re sorry that you weren’t aware of the pickup time. In the future, we’ll make this even clearer to our guests during check-in and when they place their orders.

We appreciate your candid feedback. Even though we do not share your assessment on some points, we take your criticism seriously and are continuously working to further improve our campground.

We had a wonderful time at this campground. We parked on the group field. The swimming lake was great for cooling off in the heat. I really liked the family restroom facilities; they made it much easier for us as a family to bathe the kids in the evenings.
We had the Sunday breakfast buffet at the inn.... It was delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
The hours for trash disposal are a bit limiting. Also, unfortunately, the farm store only has very short opening hours in the morning. On the other hand, there’s a really well-stocked vending machine with fair prices. We’ll definitely be back.

A campsite on a "tent field," not divided into plots—so far, so good— but no shade, no trees, no bushes that could have provided any shade. During the hot month of June, that was very unpleasant. We literally fled the heat by heading home earlier than planned. Since that doesn’t always happen, the campground is still worth recommending.
Worth it
Other than the point mentioned under "Cons," there's nothing else. The place is nice, and we'll be back—but we'll definitely choose a different campsite.

The Eichenhof campground is great! We had a site with private restroom facilities—which is really convenient! Everything is clean, the staff are friendly, and you can also enjoy a drink at the restaurant up front. The location is great, too—it’s just a few minutes’ walk to Feldmarksee!

I always enjoy coming back here
For me, staying at Campingpark Münsterland Eichenhof always feels like "coming home." Since I almost always have a private bathroom with a shower, toilet, and kitchenette, I feel almost like I'm at home... but surrounded by nature.

The surrounding area is perfect for bike rides and short excursions (moated castles, lakes, and plenty of nature, as well as towns worth visiting, such as Warendorf).

The bypass is very scenic and perfect for cycling. The private baths are fine. The staff is very friendly.

Unmowed campsites, some of which are covered only with dirt. A small shop and an overpriced vending machine area
Campground on a natural meadow
Unfortunately, in addition to the tall grass, the natural meadow also has bare patches that, when it rains, cause significant dirt and mud to accumulate in the private bathroom and the trailer. People with allergies are advised to take a close look at the specific campsite, particularly because of the unmowed areas covered in tall grass.

It's a real shame that everything is getting more and more expensive and then the service is also deteriorating. The private bathrooms were not really clean (spiders and sand everywhere in the corners, toothpaste from the previous tenant still on the tiles)

Hello, We went on a two-week tour with our caravan. The Münsterland Eichenhof campsite was the first of four campsites. We had a pitch on the edge of the forest. Very quiet and easy to reach. The sanitary facilities are clean and the people are very nice. There is a farm store where you can also order bread rolls. The campsite is in the middle of a wooded area where you can walk and cycle. We really liked it here.

The Eichenhof inn is also located on the square. When we arrived, it was raining cats and dogs after we had just set up. As we hadn't eaten yet, we thought we could go for a meal there, but it wasn't possible without a reservation. Ok, but we couldn't eat out either. The young man at the counter didn't even bother to ask in the kitchen if we could get something. So we drove to the next restaurant in the pouring rain. We would have liked to have avoided that.
First stop "Campingpark Münsterland"
Highly recommended for a short stay like ours. Everyone will find a place here.

Camping from May 13 to May 19, 2026, on Ascension Day
We were there from May 13 to May 19, i.e. over Ascension Day. The campsite is classified as a 5-star campsite and for this classification we make our rating, which is subterranean to the 5-star campsites we have already visited and is in no way worth 5 stars.
The toilet facilities, if there are any in... the immediate vicinity of the pitches, are underground, as are the shower facilities. Long distances and poor facilities. We were happy to have a pitch with its own sanitary facilities. The toilets and showers in the entrance building, which has been under construction for some time, are in operation, but for some campers this means a hike. The site was completely full over the holiday, and guests also blocked off a section of the site, including connecting paths/roads, for a beer trolley and barbecue without communicating this.
Washing machines and dryers were not available. The site has a problem with moles, which you can see on the pitches. The power boxes on the tourist meadow opposite the new building are very far apart, so be sure to bring a long connection cable. The power connection for our pitch was via a 230 V socket, CEE sockets are installed everywhere else, this was not indicated anywhere, and we have a cable drum with a CEE plug. So we left the campsite and bought a small cable drum with a Schuko plug. WLAN FREE - but only 1000 MB per day and with limited reception, which I used up within an hour. Then you have to pay to book extra. In this category of campsite, you can expect the entire WLAN to be free. Our neighbor's toilet facility was open for two days after his departure and was not cleaned. We can only recommend, if dor5t then only with your own sanitary facilities, although the price/performance ratio in no way does justice to the campsite

Thank you very much for your feedback. However, we must firmly reject your statement as it does not correspond to the facts.

First of all, the classification: you write a review here on camping.info and compare us with 5-star campsites. If you look closely, you will see that we are... officially listed here with 4 stars.

The facts about your other accusations:

Paths & Sanitary:
From almost every pitch you can reach the nearest sanitary unit in under a minute. Our new wash house is high quality and contemporary. It's logical that it's not right on everyone's doorstep - that's why there are other, closer sanitary facilities.

Road closure:
It is normal that the site was full over Ascension Day. The closure only lasted about 3 hours, as there was a great concert for our guests. It was possible to drive through at any time via a detour of just 1 minute.

Electricity & service:
It is clearly stated on the booking page that the electricity on the standard meadow is central and private bathrooms have a Schuko connection. There was no need to buy a cable reel: We borrowed suitable adapters free of charge from reception.

Moles:
We are a place in nature. The animals are rightly protected, which we respect.

Our price-performance ratio is absolutely in line with the market or even below, measured by the size of the pitch and bathroom.

Since your expectations and our philosophy do not match at all and you were unable to find any relaxation, it is best for both sides if you look for another campsite in the future.

The pitch right by the lake was really great. Unobstructed views at breakfast in the morning. Plus the gastronomy.

The sanitary blocks on the site are.... clean. But no longer ours. We are excited about the new wash house and will take a look at it next year.
Short weekend, maximum recovery
We booked spontaneously and spent the long weekend here. After a slight irritation on arrival (we just drove onto the site... unfortunately the wrong side :)) we were able to practise towing a caravan again.

After we had set up, the recovery phase began relatively quickly. Exactly what we were looking... for. The site was very quiet and our youngest quickly found someone to play with by the lake.

The staff were very friendly.

We will definitely be back!

We also understand your comment about getting here. A lot has changed since then: Our new reception... building is open, and the access road is now much better signposted, making it easier to find your way.

We have recovered very well!
The campsite is divided into two halves, the "old" part consists of the areas for permanent campers, mobile homes and the tourist area. In this part there is a nice little store with daily fresh bread rolls and tasty snacks, a restaurant and a club room. There are two sanitary areas here: a small area... in the reception building and a larger sanitary building in the fixed camper area.
The "new" part is located at and around the bathing lake and the pony meadow. This is where the comfort pitches with their own sanitary facilities and a large unparceled tent meadow are located. There are two smaller sanitary blocks. We were in the "old" part "by the forest". The trees have been cut back so that you don't have to worry about falling branches, so it was sunny enough for a coffee in a deckchair :-) The ground is very sandy and secured with thin plastic nets, so there should be no muddy mess when it rains. The WiFi reception (teenager judgment) was sufficient for the occasional SnapChatTikTokInsta post and with one free hour a day (or €5 for 7 days) quite okay.
However, two minor shortcomings prevented us from scoring full points. The sanitary facilities in the "old part" can still be described as modern and are perfectly fine. When the pitches are full over the holidays, it can get a bit cramped. The lack of a building in the "new" part is noticeable. Due to the high occupancy rate, the cleanliness was just okay. The second point is the term "pitch with water and waste water" - we were in a square pitch, the supply column was at the outermost point, so we couldn't use the supply or waste water properly - especially as the pitch had a slight incline towards the column. Another supply column would do this site good, it would save us having to carry canisters :-) Apart from these little things: everything was great, thanks for the relaxing days, we'll be back!

Large puddle on the sidewalk during heavy rain. Long walk to the toilet block. Sanitary block closed at night.
Weekend with the whole family
On the occasion of a family celebration, we were guests at the Eichenhof campsite with our whole family on a weekend in August 2021. The booking of the vacation homes and pitches went very smoothly.
The arrangements made in advance regarding accommodation as well as breakfast and dinner at the Gasthof... Eichenhof were implemented to our complete satisfaction. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, and the garden with garden shed rounded off the whole experience.
The breakfast buffet and dinner left nothing to be desired.

Great surroundings for hiking and cycling, even with dogs.

Great Lahe and very well maintained!
Beautifully situated campsite. Ideal for families and active campers with dogs.
Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately we had to leave immediately on the day of arrival as work-related issues forced us to cut our vacation short.
We will definitely try again.
Great pitches and the group meadow is also to be recommended.
The whole site makes a very well-kept impression and you can see that efforts are being made to keep improving it.

Beautiful place in the green nature
Very nice camping site in the middle of greenery.
Surrounded by lots of forest and a small lake, you can go hiking, cycling, walking and jogging here. Very close to nature.
The site is also very spacious and very well maintained. Many permanent campers also live here.

There is a lovely play tower for... children in a large sandy area. The little ones can also splash around and play in the water.

The only drawback was our pitch. It was under a large oak tree that gives off sap. Our caravan, car and awning looked accordingly good. Cleaning will be very time-consuming.... ;-/ This pitch just behind the entrance barrier should be avoided....Ideal for shade parking, of course.

Conclusion: Very beautiful site in the countryside. Cycle path in all directions, many hiking trails etc...very nice to relax.

Price & performance is also top!
