Nice places, good facilities in the new bathhouse (front building). Pool was big enough. 1 shower coin is enough for 7 minutes, which is ok.

Cleanliness in the toilets was not good, you would be well advised to bring your own cleaning agent. The bowls and garbage cans were very dusty/dirty and in urgent need of a deep clean. You can't leave the site by car between 1pm and 3pm, the barrier remains closed. Water pressure for washing up was almost non-existent towards the evening, it just dripped. The showers were not sufficiently warm/hot at an outside temperature of 9 degrees. The permanent pop music in the wash/sanitary building was very annoying.
Mixed stay
We received a friendly welcome and a lot was explained to us. Unfortunately, some details were left out, e.g. that the barrier remains closed during the lunch break, even for exits. I find it completely understandable to prevent entry during the lunch break, but we found it unpleasant that you are forced... to stay on the pitch if you want to leave shortly after 1 or shortly before 3 or spontaneously. And it should also be mentioned that there is no connection between the showers and the pool, so you have to walk around the outside to the showers in your bathing suit/towel, which was difficult when it was 9 degrees outside. The cleanliness in the toilets or the availability of seat cleaners should be improved. I couldn't bring myself to sit down on the toilet without my own means. In addition, the constant background music in the toilet, shower and dishwashing rooms is very unpleasant. It was simply too loud, especially in the washroom, and not everyone likes to listen to pop songs all the time.

- Unfriendly staff - Everything, really everything costs extra ("Fitness studio one device - 5 Euro) - Electricity far too expensive - Showers cost extra - Entry and exit card - Everything has to be paid for in cash without a receipt or invoice - And much more! -funny loud music in the showers
Not recommended
The whole stay was terrible! Starting with the fact that the telephone contact with the operator was really rude throughout the whole stay.
Everything is paid extra. You have to pay for everything in cash without receiving receipts or an invoice. Even after an invoice, we were only sent a price list.... We stayed one night and only wanted to leave even though we had paid for three. Unfortunately, we got stuck, as did other campers. The owner just came around the corner with stupid comments and didn't want to help or have anything to do with it. This got us talking to other campers who had the same bad experiences with the site and especially the lady. Do yourselves a favor and give the place a wide berth!

We couldn't understand all the negative reviews. Very nice welcome and also the place including the sanitary facilities in a very good clean condition. Top pitches. Everything you need if you want to have a good time. We would take a nice break here at any time and can only warmly recommend the place 👍

the landscape and the location in the surrounding area - there are plenty of things to do

totally rude, money-grabbing and shouting boss, who is hopelessly overwhelmed with the place. There is a lack of staff at all ends, but that also costs money, so you do everything yourself or try to
absolutely not recommendable
the place is totally run down, nothing is invested.
Sanitary building is getting on in years, cracked tiles, fittings of the cheapest and often defective, black mold in the joints and corners, lighting in the showers insufficient especially in the darker months
timer too short, motion detectors incorrectly... fitted or too few.
the swimming lake is a pond with far too little water and no one can swim in it or has to go to the doctor afterwards because of the algae
but the ducks and frogs feel at home.
you should pay attention to everything that concerns money:
electricity and other bills are difficult to check
advance payments are not refunded
if you give up your place or change, there is no clean
cut or billing
so you can possibly bill electricity twice it might be worth it
at 90cent kwh the most expensive camping electricity in Germany

without fake ratings the place / operator would be at most on 2

Pretty much everything else: 1. sanitary facilities: taste is debatable when it comes to the choice of tiles and background music (baby blue for men, pink for women with Humtata Mukke). But clean looks different. The shit was nicely distributed on the walls. Certainly also a reflection of the clientele, most of whom stay in year-round places. I recommend going shortly after 10 p.m.: that's when they were cleaning... The showers cannot be regulated and you have to buy shower tokens. The coin-operated machine says "extended shower time: 7 min". Would be nice - but it's all fake: the counter shows "7" at the beginning and then jumps straight to "5". That you can still program it like that... 2. the exorbitant prices: 54 EUR for an overnight stay is quite steep in the low season. You get the feeling of being taken advantage of (which was confirmed to me by other camper colleagues). Visiting costs extra, as does parking 3. General "feeling": generally unfriendly. We were glad to get away again quickly. And getting out wasn't so easy: the barrier didn't go up and I first had to ask the manager personally to open it - because she didn't know us. It will probably stay that way! Otherwise, lots of signs with exclamation marks. Friendly is different... 4th swimming pool: I can only think of one word: Cheekiness

The sanitary building is worthy of praise, the closed toilet cubicles, quiet music, spotlessly clean and also visually very appealing, for 1€ shower tokens (shower duration after insertion 7 minutes, completely sufficient) sufficient storage possibilities, scullery everything top clean. Beautiful large pitches (in paradise) with electricity, water and waste water. Nice restaurant on site, very good schnitzel at a great price!

The pool was very cold in April, it was not possible for us to go into the water. The store on the site was closed, if you needed anything you had to contact the owner Mrs. Schulte.
Short vacation for two from 6.4.2025-12.4.2025
After I booked, I read the many negative reviews. That gave me the feeling that I had made a mistake. We arrived at the campsite with mixed feelings. Mrs. Schulte gave us a very friendly welcome, we were given the barrier card (deposit €25) and over the course of the week it turned out that Mrs. Schulte... did a "one woman" job, which she often mentioned herself. As a customer, I am not really interested in this information, I want to be treated in a friendly and respectful manner. Ms. Schulte seemed stressed and annoyed, she used the wrong tone of voice a few times. It's just her way of lecturing and always having the last word. However, you can get along with her if you ignore her tips! Departure was problem-free, the deposit for the barrier card was paid, Storm was billed correctly! In our opinion, the site is also well maintained!

Fantastic panoramic pool, great bathhouse, well-maintained grounds, fresh bread rolls every day, private bathrooms on the pitch. Nice staff. Delicious food in the restaurant. Directly on the Weser and the Weser cycle path. Ideal starting point for great excursions.

Camping in the Weserbergland - again and again Sonnenwiese
We were in the pool every day and enjoyed the splash shower. We had fresh bread rolls for breakfast every day. We received great tips for excursions at the registration desk. Super well-equipped pitches. Delicious food and drink. Great for cycling.
We've already booked again for 2025!

Keep your eyes open when booking on this CP!
We got to know Mrs. Schulte at the trade fair in Essen. As we wanted to spend a week there during the summer vacation, we booked a comfort pitch for €340.00. A deposit of €200 was due for this amount. This was about 60%. Three weeks before arrival, we had to postpone the date for health reasons. We asked... for the deposit to be credited to a later date. Mrs. Schulte initially refused. This was followed by phone calls and an e-mail exchange. Although Mrs. Schulte was able to rent out part of the pitch, she only wanted to credit €100.00 for the next stay (this year). We were very disappointed by this way of doing business and will certainly not visit this campsite again, let alone recommend it to others. We are not familiar with such behavior, we did not ask for a refund, but only for the deposit to be credited to a later stay.
To date, we have not heard anything in response to the request to provide us with the contract documents or general terms and conditions.

The perfect rest
A very nice clean campsite. Equipped with everything you need for a nice vacation. The proximity to the Weser and a beautiful heated panoramic pool provide sufficient cooling on hot summer days. The site manager is also very friendly and helpful. This was our second time at Sonnenwiese and we were completely satisfied

Summer vacation sun meadow
We are traveling with 2 adults and 2 kindergarten children in the caravan and felt totally comfortable on the sunny meadow. Nice reception. A very nice pitch with fresh water, waste water and electricity connections centrally located at the sanitary building, the children's playground and the pool. Simply... super!
The surrounding area offers many sights and great ice cream parlors!!! Fresh bread rolls every day, which the children were very proud to buy on their own.
Delicious food in the Sonnenwieserestaurant.
We will be back!

The location is very good, directly on the Weser and on the cycle path. Great starting point for cycling tours. Delicious food and drink. The pool was a dream. Clean, well-kept sanitary facilities, whole place very well maintained. Nice staff.

Beautiful, relaxed days in the sky
We were on Ascension Day at the Sonnenwiese. It was full and great. We all had a lot of fun, in the pool, on the children's playground, in the restaurant and on the cycle path in the surrounding area.
We were very impressed that such a small team could be so efficient.
Although the campsite was full,... the sanitary facilities were clean and it was quiet at night from 10.00 pm. The team was friendly and helpful, even though the number of guests was impressive.
The entire campsite was well maintained.
We have now booked a comfort pitch with bathroom for a 10-day fall vacation on the sunny meadow.
We are looking forward to it and can recommend Sonnenwiese with a clear conscience!

The site with the pitches with electricity and water connections. The bathing fun was also great.

The operator is quite unfriendly. The tiles in the bathhouse are cracked. You can't blow-dry your hair with the hairdryer. With the electricity 21 euros for four days can not be somehow. I used an electric pan three times, TV and cell phone. Showering with brand 3.5 minutes, you need a whole time to let the water run warm, is too little.
I was from 01.-05.24 in Vlotho Sonnenwiese with two people
I find the campsite quite expensive for the price-performance ratio. The operator is quite unfriendly which other guests also say.

Easy to reach outside normal opening hours. Very nice and friendly. Great facilities on the pitch with fresh water, waste water, electricity, satellite connection, private bathroom on the pitch. Directly on the Weser and on the Weser cycle path.

Sunny meadow in spring
We were there for 5 nights and treated ourselves to a comfort pitch with bathroom. It was great!
The team and the guests were very nice, uncomplicated and helpful. We had great days. Got to know nice people, saw a lot, ate well, fresh bread rolls every day. A quick dip in the pool before dinner.

We felt very comfortable at the Sonnenwiese.
We had fresh bread rolls every day and delicious asparagus in the restaurant. We did a lot of cycling and then went to the pool. We were very satisfied and will be back.

The Sonnenwiese is open all year round. A very nice pickled bathhouse. Super! Everything was already open in March: store, restaurant, pool. The team is highly motivated. Great dry pitches, no guest got stuck. No trailer and tractor had to be pulled out. Great Easter offers.

Easter on the sunny meadow
Easter vacation in March, just too early in the year for camping - we thought. The Sonnenwiese is located in the middle of the Weserbergland, directly on the Weser cycle path. We got a great, dry and beautiful pitch. The pool was already open and heated from Maundy Thursday, fantastic. There were fresh... bread rolls every day. Our children also made star nests, looked for eggs and went on the children's train. - They especially loved the beautiful large children's playground and the children's showers.
