Within walking distance of Siena’s Old Town (30 minutes to Porta Camolla). Clean restrooms, nice pool, separate lounge area for dog owners. Very quiet at night. Nice campground restaurant, popular with locals as well; table reservations are recommended.

Convenient location, well-maintained grounds
Also well-suited for longer stays; well-maintained grounds; gravel-covered sites with a grassy base; plenty of shade

-Quiet!!!! -Pool -Right near Siena -Pleasantly busy in mid-July -Good tent sites with plenty of space -Good restaurant and bar -Very clean restrooms -Friendly staff
Olumsuz yanları
-Mosquitoes and ants—unfortunately, especially at the campsites in the back. Mosquito repellent is a must -Personally, I find it a little expensive—a 2-person tent without a car costs €41 per night -The lanterns stay on for a very long time, which can be quite annoying inside the tent
Great Campground
See the pros and cons.
My overall experience was definitely very nice. Unfortunately, the campground can't do anything about the mosquitoes and ants, but it's still important to mention that the lanterns stay very bright for a long time.

+ Bus stop 150 m from the CP entrance + Well-stocked store + Friendly reception + Pitch without registration
Olumsuz yanları
- Narrow, steep "descent" to the lower level to the pitch - Of course, there is also a steep footpath up to the store and restaurant
CP near old town of Siena
The Colleverde campsite is a little awkward to get to by camper van, partly through the busy streets of the town, then a narrow last stretch.
From the entrance there are tight bends (in our case) down to the lowest level to the beautiful and fairly level pitches, just big enough for our 7m motorhome....
The sanitary facilities were adequate given the 70% occupancy of the site at the time and were cleaned properly every day.
The pool is small but nice.
To the well-stocked store and the restaurant we had to sweat a lot walking up.
The bus stop is only about 150m away from the CP, from there you can get directly to the center of Siena in about 15 minutes.
We wouldn't stay there for a week, but we would highly recommend it for 2 days in Siena.

Good place for Siena
Sept/Oct 2023 Good and spacious access. The campsite is well signposted on the road early on. English and German spoken.
Reservations are not absolutely necessary at this time (site was 70% full), as the amount must be paid in advance! Replies by e-mail are answered. The upper two terraces are reserved... for large camper vans and caravans. The top terrace is a little noisy in the morning due to the morning traffic.
The sanitary facilities are good, clean, sufficient and equipped with paper, even if the pitch was 100% booked. However, the taps including the dishwashers need a revival. It drips from all the seals and the sensor-activated taps do roughly what they want....Italy dolce vita. Replacement would be necessary just in terms of water consumption. The restaurant has great service and the menu is extensive and affordable. Locals also use this restaurant, and that says something about the quality. You can get bread without pre-ordering in the market.
The pool area incl. bar is nice. But you need a swimming cap...of course available on site for a fee...😉. I'll leave out whether it's any good....
The price was E 40.- for 2P and ele. in the NS.

Proximity to the old town
Olumsuz yanları
Inexplicably, we were only able to choose from the almost exclusively VERY sloping and small pitches with 7.50m living space. Very narrow and steep driveways. Pitches either sloping asphalt or on clayey ground.
Room for improvement
With little effort, the squares could be made much more attractive and even!

Centrally located with very good public transport connections to the old town of Siena, Good price-performance ratio, restaurant, small store and bar on the square, the site is clean and well equipped, Reception multilingual, Shady pitches under old trees, Pool area with sun loungers and umbrellas.
Olumsuz yanları
Road in the upper part of the site within earshot, partly narrow and steep access roads, lower part of the site cannot be reached with large caravans, double axles or camper vans, No fresh water connections directly at the pitches, showers without sufficient storage space and too few coat hooks.
Camping in beautiful Siena, the center of Tuscany
Camping Colleverde Siena is the ideal starting point for exploring the old town of Siena with the Piazza del Campo and the beautiful alabaster cathedral.

The campsite is located on the north-eastern edge of the city and is easy to reach via the RA3 highway coming from Florence. The site is located in... a residential area and is pleasantly quiet from 8 pm, although Siena is always very busy. All pitches in the upper area are roughly gravelled and offer enough space for motorhomes and large caravans. 230V is available at many central points. Vans and small caravans will also find nice pitches on grass pitches in the lower part, where it is even quieter.

Some mobile homes for rent on the edge of the site. There is an older, small pool area with sun loungers and parasols, but it is clean and well maintained. Tents are pitched on grass in the lower edge area.

Caravans and large motorhomes should look for a pitch on the first 3 plateaus, as the steep access road means that the lower part of the campsite is almost inaccessible or can only be reached with great driving skill. It is recommended that you state the length of your camper van or caravan when booking or arriving so that there are no unwanted problems with the allocated pitch. We parked our 7.60 m caravan on the third level and were able to get there quite easily. The plateaus are slightly inclined towards the valley, not flat.

The wash houses are simple but functional. Showers could be better equipped.

A small sandwich store and a pizzeria and café-bar round off the facilities at Colleverde Camping.

The campsite is certainly not the place to spend 3 weeks on a relaxing vacation, but it is perfect as a starting point for exploring southern Tuscany, Siena, Volterra and even Florence (good train connections). We stayed there for a few days in June and had a great time.

No proper motorhome disposal possible Only gray water drainage and fresh water. Floor inlet is an imposition. You first have to wipe away a heavy iron lid.
Only one WC cassette disposal
The pitch is beautifully situated as described. Almost all pitches are very sloping. If you stand at the bottom of the slope, you have to walk many meters up the steep hill with the toilet cassette. The motorhome disposal at the bottom is outdated and offers no possibility for this

Good location for visiting the old town of Siena.
Stayed here for one night on a trip to Tuscany.
There are pitches for caravans in the upper part of the campsite.
However, some of these are more like a parking lot, but overall ok for visiting Siena.
Sanitary facilities are clean.

Good restaurant, location close to town, decent sanitary facilities, excellent open wine in the camping store
Olumsuz yanları
Lower area very muddy
Great campsite for sightseeing and as a hiking base
We used the campsite as a base for several hikes in Tuscany and for visits to Siena and Florence.

The facilities are good by Mediterranean standards. The wash houses were clean and the restaurant on site was really good. However, the whole thing is subject to corona restrictions. It was probably much... less busy than usual.

What we didn't like so much was that the staff didn't tell us about the clayey ground and the accumulation of water on the lower pitch. We could hardly use our awning because everything was covered in mud and clay. That was a shame because there were dry pitches further up.

Overall, the price of the stay was on the higher end. But we were still very satisfied.

We can't say anything about the pool and bar as they were closed.

The reception was friendly. The pitches for caravans and motorhomes are very small (i.e. tiny). The sanitary facilities are modern and clean.
There is a bus stop right next to the campsite and it is about 30 minutes on foot.

Close to the old town of Siena, surroundings, nice pool, clean sanitary facilities, good restaurant

Only the upper pitches are suitable for large caravans
Beautiful city campsite with a great pool: ideal for sightseeing with children
Due to problems with our car, we spent a whole week unplanned with our children (3, 8 and 10) on this site in August. The operator was extremely helpful and friendly. The wash houses were very clean, the food in the restaurant, which was also very popular with many locals, was excellent and we had a... great view of the old town from our pitch, which can be reached quickly by car or public bus. The best thing for our children was the lovely pool with a nice pool bar. A really good place to discover Siena and the surrounding area with children. With a caravan, however, it is better to stay in the upper part.

Beautiful city campsite
The campsite is on a slope, terraced, with access from above. The further down you get (can get), the quieter and more beautiful it becomes. With a caravan this is taboo, unless you have a four-wheel drive automatic car, nerves of steel and special driving skills. In other words, you are restricted to... the upper, more accessible pitches. Motorhomes and camper vans can get down to below the pool. Separate meadow for tents, really nice and quiet!
Sanitary facilities good and clean, friendly German-speaking reception.
In short: more than you can expect from a city campsite!

Nice quiet place
We stayed on the site for 4 days in August with our 3 children (15/11/11). The pitch is well shaded and integrated into the slope. It is difficult to maneuver for larger caravans. Also, not all pitches are straight. The sanitary facilities were clean and were always cleaned. The supermarket is spartan... and expensive. But it's good enough for emergencies. Our children liked the pool, but you have to wear swimming caps here. The sense and nonsense of it is debatable. However, the excursion possibilities are gigantic. Siena is clear, although we liked some of the smaller villages better (Monteriggioni and San Gimignano). Cycling is also a lot of fun here. Great scenery and lots of roads without cars. For jogging, it is only suitable for trail runners. We ate in the restaurant and it was good. We will probably come back again.

Place very well suited to visit Siena
Good place to visit Siena
Place is located in a quiet suburban area, with good bus connections to the city center. Walk to the bus stop 200 meters. Entrance and exit quite steep, but doable. We were here at the end of April and the site was about 30% full. The sanitary blocks, which were already open, were very clean. Small self-service market. We did not use the restaurant. Friendly reception, bus tickets are also available here.

Very nice place to explore Siena and the surrounding area. Unfortunately we have been bombarded by a siren for almost 24 hours, allegedly the police have already been called 3 times by the operator, but this seems to have had no success.

- Very well located for sightseeing in Siena - well-kept and clean place - friendly and helpful staff
Olumsuz yanları
- Upper pitches have steep slopes that cannot be evened out with wedges. - Leash requirement is not observed
The perfect place for tours in the Chianti region
Originally, we had only planned to stay here for one night to visit Siena. But we were completely captivated by the famous Chianti region. We spent a week driving around this beautiful region on our Vespa and kept discovering new, unknown areas. The site is also perfectly located for a visit to the historic... town of Siena (bus stop approx. 200m). The pitches are spacious and partly with or without trees. However, the gradient in the upper pitches is borderline, so that even with good wedges or our lifting supports the gradient could not be compensated for. The small, well-stocked shop with excellent Chianti wines is highly recommended. We also have positive memories of the bar and restaurant. A place we can highly recommend.

were only there because of Siena
The square is only a good choice if or because you want to visit Siena. Otherwise it offers nothing attractive. Some of the camper vans can only be parked at an angle on the pitches (even with wedges)! No restaurant - no stores! Staff rather grumpy. But recommended for a visit to Siena, as the site is in an excellent location!

Very good location for a city tour
Well suited for a visit to Sienna
We visited the campsite during our tour of Tuscany. The location is really ideal for visiting Siena. You can get to Siena quickly by bus (bus stop 200 m from the campsite). Of course you can also go by bike, it's only about 2 km. However, I would not choose this site for a longer stay. In the upper part,... the pitches actually have the charm of a prison yard due to the high concrete retaining walls. The gradient is borderline in places. Further down around the swimming pool, the pitches are much nicer. The swimming pool is also really practical if you want to cool off after a hot day in Siena. The sanitary facilities are a bit old but very clean.
