Olumsuz yanları
Very haphazard use of parking spaces
OK for one night
The site isn’t divided into plots, so you can park wherever and however you like. Unfortunately, this means that some very pushy camping neighbors squeeze into the tiniest gaps, making it impossible to open the window without bumping into the vehicle next to you. Since vehicles can enter even at night,... it was relatively noisy for us.
The restroom facility is very modern and quite decent given the high number of guests.
For one night and a visit to Zermatt, the campground is definitely recommended, but a longer stay wouldn’t be an option for us.

beautifully situated place for hikes and Zermatt
The site in Randa is in a very scenic location and very quiet at night. The reception was very friendly and you can choose your own pitch. (This means you don't have to wait for the end of the lunch break, as with many other campsites) Bread rolls and bread service. You can take a cab to Zermatt (cheaper... than by train) we have already been to the campsite in 2019. Now with the new sanitary facilities we liked it better. Although the site was very busy, the sanitary facilities were clean.
The restaurant at the campsite is also recommended.

Olumlu yanları
beautiful mountain panorama great starting point for winter hiking and snowshoeing or cross-country skiing very friendly host
Olumsuz yanları
No shopping or eating facilities nearby poor sanitary facilities in winter little sun no public transportation
Conditionally recommended in winter
The two of us stayed at the campsite for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year. In winter, the campsite is reduced to the bare essentials. There is only one sanitary building open with very few showers and toilets, which is also in need of repair. As the restaurant is now permanently closed (until... a new tenant is found), there are no shopping or eating facilities on site. Täsch (terminus of the train to Zermatt) and the village of Randa can be reached on foot in approx. 30 - 40 minutes. If you want to go from the campsite to Zermatt, you can take a group cab in the morning at 8, 9 or 10 a.m. and back in the evening at 4 or 5 p.m. (one way CHF 7 pp.) Alternatively, you can of course book a (more expensive!) cab yourself or walk to Täsch. The Brantschen family, who own the resort, are super friendly and personable!

good location, hiking possibilities, proximity to Zermatt
Olumsuz yanları
completely overcrowded in August.
Completely overcrowded campsite in August
were on the pitch in August and, contrary to the reviews in other months, the pitch was completely overcrowded. Every available pitch was used. When you thought the place was full, a bus full of campers arrived in the evening. As a result, the few, outdated sanitary facilities (4 showers each for men... and women) were completely overloaded and dirtier than I have ever seen anywhere else. Queuing at the toilets. Power cuts due to overcrowding. Payment only in cash, no EC or credit cards. Otherwise the site is in a great location, beautiful scenery and close to Zermatt. The cab to Zermatt is cheaper than the train. Everyone was very friendly and there was a bread roll service. But due to overcrowding we left earlier than planned.

Highly recommended
I spent four days there on my motorcycle and had a wonderful time. A very nice, well-kept, inexpensive campsite, large green meadows and also smaller shady side pitches, very good and very clean sanitary facilities, the site not too crowded even in July, extremely nice, friendly and pretty campsite manager,... the site is conveniently located just before Zermatt, Zermatt can be reached quickly by cab bus, the ride on the cog railroad to the Gornergrat (the main reason for my trip) with a view of the Matterhorn and the many four-thousand-meter peaks (including the Dufourspitze) with glacier even more beautiful than I had hoped. Dinner menu in the restaurant at the campsite very good and cheap (by Swiss standards). Thank you !

Be sure to pack wedges and a very long cable reel.
Good location for a visit to Zermatt
The campsite is quietly located one village before Täsch and therefore away from the hustle and bustle. After a short hike you reach the train station from where you can get to Zermatt. Free choice of pitch on a sloping meadow, we found a quiet spot on the edge, hence 4 stars here too.

Shuttle service from the campsite to Zermatt. Bread roll service
Olumsuz yanları
Restaurant very expensive. Partly Swiss socket system
Ideal campsite for a visit to Zermatt
We spent the night on the site for a visit to Zermatt. The pitches are mostly on a meadow without parcelling. We had to park again as there were only Swiss sockets at the electricity column and no Schuko or CEE. The sanitary facilities are difficult to keep clean as everyone carries the soil into the... sanitary facilities via the damp meadow. At the reception you can sign up for a shuttle service to Zermatt or bread rolls for the next day. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the quality was disproportionate to the price.

Aging sanitary facilities
Top campsite in a fantastic setting. Ideal for visits to Zermatt.
We stayed at this campsite in April to hike in the Mattertal valley and had a great time. The campsite is simply equipped, so arrival, payment, services and departure were completely uncomplicated. We were here in the transitional period between winter and summer season. The campsite is less frequented... during this time and therefore only half of the sanitary facilities are open. Reception is located in the restaurant at this time. Very friendly reception, easy to choose a pitch. Weather, activity and hiking tips from the friendly staff included. Extensive bread roll and bread service. Zermatt is very easy to reach via a regular cab shuttle directly from the campsite or alternatively after a 20-minute walk from Randa or Täsch by train. (Taxi is about half the price.) Staying with a dog is also unproblematic in every respect. The food and service in the restaurant should definitely be enjoyed. I am also very happy to award 5 stars for this. A simple but correspondingly uncomplicated and relaxed campsite in a fantastic mountain setting. We will be back.

Not for us
Beautifully situated CP
We stayed here in September 2014 and thought it was a great place. Sure, the sanitary facilities are no longer the latest, but they are clean. There are no pitches as such, it's a meadow with distributed power connections. Everyone pitches where they want. The reception was friendly, the Asci card was accepted, and that for this location! Great starting point for visitors to Zermatt and the surrounding area! It doesn't get any better than this!
