Very nice campsite
Very well-kept, rather small campsite, great location for hiking in the middle of the countryside, very clean sanitary facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Also suitable for camping!

The sanitary facilities deserve to be rated very positively here.
Top sanitary facilities. Very well-kept place with friendly staff. We spent pleasant days in beautiful surroundings

Tent pitches and group pitches in the campsite center. Noise pollution possible as a result.
Nice location, nice staff
Beautifully situated place by the river. Very friendly and helpful staff. Part of the site consists of mobile homes. Sanitary facilities somewhat outdated but functionally furnished. Wifi free of charge. Located on the edge of the village. Pub and restaurant within walking distance. We were there on a weekend and unfortunately there were disturbances caused by weekend campers partying.

Ideal for castle tours
Clean place with outdated sanitary, but should probably be renewed next year, sanitary but clean. Quiet location near the town, no amenities on site, but only a 10-minute walk into town.

The campsite is located on the outskirts of the village directly on the river. The big minus right at the beginning: The reception was not manned and closed when we arrived at 20:15 local time and the phone only answered a voicemail. So we looked for a parking space ourselves and parked. I can't judge... the sanitary buildings as they can only be entered via a numeric keypad with code entry, as is often the case in the UK, and unfortunately we didn't meet anyone at reception. The next day the reception was manned and I was finally able to check in and check out at the same time as we were only spending one night there. The welcome at reception was typically British - warm and friendly and small talk quickly began. An attraction in the area is Balmoral, which is only a few kilometers to the west.

Although many mobile homes are set up for permanent campers, none of the idyll of the Scottish Highlands is lost. Situated on the edge of Ballater, its Victorian charm quickly spreads to the visitor. Very suitable for nature lovers, anglers, golfers and hikers directly on the River Dee, however, good... midge protection is recommended. You can get everything within a 5-minute walk, from fresh bread rolls in the morning to a supermarket and an evening visit to the local pub. Ballmoral Castle is 11km away and Aberdeen and Dunottar Castel can also be reached in one to one and a half hours. The golf course is also just around the corner. The site is flat, well laid out - partly with trees and wooden dining sets everywhere. The sanitary facilities are not super modern but well maintained. The whole thing is available at the Scottish rate - 2 people + 2 bikes + 1 tent for 8 pounds per night!
