A great start to the vacation
The campground in Höxter was our first stop on the Weser Cycle Route. After the first 70 km—which was actually quite exhausting for a start—we were given a very warm welcome. We had booked one of the 3-person camping cabins and were very curious to see it. We slept like babies, thanks to the comfortable... beds and the absolutely quiet night. We’d ordered breakfast to be delivered right to our cabin the next morning, since we didn’t feel like riding into Höxter first to look for a place to eat. The breakfast was amazing. A platter with sausage, cheese, jam (super delicious), Nutella (very important), yogurt, eggs, rolls, orange juice, and drinks of your choice. Top-notch.
It was a very good decision to stay here instead of looking for a hotel room in town.
We’d like to say thank you and can absolutely recommend this campground.

Clean, well-maintained grounds; a warm welcome from the owners; dogs are welcome and receive a little goodie bag with treats and toys. The restrooms are spotless and cleaned regularly. Bread roll service and a small supermarket right at the front desk. The town is within a 15-minute walk.

The washing machine is a bit outdated and requires a lot of tokens because the wash cycle used to end prematurely, but after talking to a staff member at the campground, that wasn't a problem either.

Cleaning times for the sanitary buildings. Another sanitary building at the back of the campsite is missing. Access very cramped, especially when many vehicles are parked on the sports grounds
Recommended campsite
We were guests at the campsite with 3 units over Ascension Day. The booking in Dec. 2025 was possible despite the winter break and completely uncomplicated. We were allocated 3 pitches (next to each other, different sizes). As we were able to place the caravans wherever we wanted, we had enough space,... as had been confirmed to us beforehand. A very friendly welcome. The employee briefly went outside with us and pointed out the pitches. As all the campers are away on Ascension Day, the pitch was naturally full. No problem for us. Everything was harmonious. This was also reflected in the fact that if there was a power cut at short notice, someone was immediately on hand to sort it out. Top! As the site was fully booked, as already mentioned, the sanitary facilities were of course very busy. Whether it is a good thing that the nice ladies from the cleaning team start cleaning early in the morning should be reconsidered. All in all, we felt comfortable. P.S. According to a permanent camper, the campsite is to be leased again by the town of Höxter. Let's hope that the city fathers give the now young operator couple (including the daughter of the deceased H. Hachmann) the promise to continue to operate the site and not give it to a campsite chain. What will happen then?

We also got a nice pitch at short notice and were warmly welcomed. The site was very tidy and decorated for Easter. As always, the operators were nice and very friendly. The whole site is very well maintained, whether the sanitary facilities or the rental accommodation. Hot water at all times and everything was hygienically clean. Keep up the good work

We spent 14 days here in September and were very satisfied 🙂 . So just a few comments for other campers:

There are a lot of permanent campers on the site. We had pitch T27 - which is in the "tourist corner", which we personally find nicer.

If you like hiking: Don't just take the hiking trails that... you can get at the tourist information office just 2 km away, but also look up the hiking trails in the Solling-Vogler Nature Park on the Internet. Then you have an extremely wide range of options, some of which are even shorter.

The showers are included, but you have to press a button outside the shower cubicle for hot water (for 7 minutes - then it gets cold). Tip: First undress in the cubicle and get everything ready, then wrap a towel around yourself and press the button.

This is something we don't know from other places and should be reconsidered in terms of organization:

Cleaning is always carried out at similar times, but while the pool is open! This means that every now and then someone goes to the toilet, takes a shower or washes up during cleaning. So even motivated staff can't really clean effectively! There is only one sanitary building, but you could simply close off one part at a time (showers/toilets/flushing room) and then clean it undisturbed before releasing it for use again. I think everyone can wait that long.

Well-managed course
The site is a great base for exploring the Weser Uplands and the surrounding area. In summer and on hot days, you can visit the outdoor pool opposite the campsite to cool off.

We stumbled upon this really beautiful campground by chance. It’s in a very idyllic location right on the Weser River and along the Weser Bike Path, within walking distance of Höxter. Right next door is a great outdoor pool. We were given a very warm welcome by the owners and staff 😍 When we mentioned our two dogs at check-in, we were immediately given a few packets of treats along with a food bag as a gift 😍 We and our two girls felt very at home here 😍

Location: great—right next to the outdoor pool. The bike path starts right at the campground. It’s within walking distance of Höxter.
Cleanliness: Excellent—some people complain that the washhouse is cleaned during peak hours. But I’m on vacation—I don’t have a schedule… so I’ll just go later 😉
Food:... Excellent—it was delicious and the staff were friendly.
Noise level: Of course, you can hear the squeals and the fun coming from the pool—and surely from the adjacent soccer field, too. But for us (retirees who are young at heart), that’s no problem.
Warmth: We were thoroughly delighted by how kindly our two dogs were treated 😍

The site is close to the town, which is great for sightseeing. As we were there in extreme heat, the adjacent outdoor pool was just right. The proximity to the Weser cycle path was also a special point for us.

All in all, the campsite is really great. The campsite is well-kept and clean (including the sanitary facilities).

Vacation on the Weser
Beautifully situated campsite directly on the Weser. Höxter is within walking distance. The sanitary facilities are clean. You can order bread rolls, in the bistro you get a good and delicious breakfast, at the weekend there are various offers such as: Homemade cake, pulled pork burger.
You can go on many bike tours from the campsite.

The Weser pitches offer a fantastic view, even if they are more suitable for motorhomes than caravans. The pitches are about 10 meters long and are slightly offset downwards from the cycle path that runs directly past. If you have a larger caravan here without a mover, you have to maneuver hard and hope... that the grass is dry. In addition, large cherry trees flank both the cycle path and the pitch. Who comes up with such ideas? Although it wasn't yet the ripening season, cars and caravans looked good...the view probably makes up for it.
The access road is also quite narrow and you are told where to pull out when you register. Maybe they should think about a three-quarter barrier at the start of the cycle path; it would make things a lot easier.
Enough complaining! In the central building you will find a registration area with a mini-shop, sanitary facilities and washing/washing-up area, as well as the disposal point for toilets/grey water on the outside wall; a "Blue Angel" seal for sanitary fluids is not necessary.
The mini-shop also sells in-house postcards to make your relatives jealous :) When we asked where the nearest post box was, the answer was: "Give it to me, I'll throw it in for you on the way home!". That's service for you!
The sanitary facilities were always clean, but we didn't quite understand the logic of the shower machines. Why do I have to press a time limit button outside(!) the cabin when showering is included anyway?
We didn't enjoy any other services, so we can't rate them accordingly.
Tip: the Rodeneck Tower is on the mountain opposite the campsite. Be sure to hike the 3km there! The view is fantastic!

Very friendly already at the reservation, totally nice people at the reception, they do a lot for satisfied guests and their wishes, great bread service and small store, large pitches, everything very clean, the cycle path on the Weser borders directly on the site, the town of Höxter is at most one kilometer away and very pretty and worth seeing.
A campsite that we can recommend and always enjoy visiting.
