"Ok... - Kamp Koren is located above the Soca, which can be reached via a steep staircase. The Soca is narrow at this point and the current is strong. Not suitable for swimming and definitely not for small children or dogs. We were generally given a friendly welcome and instructions. We had a great pitch on the upper level. This can be reached via a narrow, quite steep ramp. The natural tree population means that pitches come in all shapes and sizes. Some are definitely not quite as nice. On the lower level is the sanitary building next to the reception and bar. It is a little older, not really attractive but clean. In front of it is the garbage area, which was completely overflowing when we arrived. However, garbage was then also collected. The design of the sanitary building on the upper level is completely open and of a low standard, only the toilet cubicles and showers have doors. The water at the sinks can be turned on with a button and then only runs for a few seconds - annoying. It is also annoying that the sanitary building lighting, which is controlled by motion detectors, switches off again after a short time, so you are soon sitting in the dark with minimal lighting. Otherwise there is no lighting at all at night. But it's better to watch the stars... On the upper floor there is only a tiny waste garbage can by the sinks - no possibility to dispose of a dog waste bag. You have to go downhill and uphill every time, keeps you fit. Also good for the immune system: the surprisingly changing temperatures when showering. Small things, but they add up. The qualification as an eco-camp is based on factors that are realistically standard on most campsites. And why the camp describes itself as one of the most beautiful in Slovenia is not clear to me either, there are more beautiful campsites. But the location is great, a beautiful hiking area and water sports paradise.

"Idyllic campsite - Beautifully located, small, manageable campsite on two levels. I arrived spontaneously on the Whitsun weekend and was able to choose and get a pitch. Most of the pitches are partly in the shade of the trees, but there are also sunny pitches. Due to its location on the Soča, there are a lot of athletes on the site and it is very busy. However, it gradually becomes quiet in the evening and you can only hear the sound of the water. It's a good starting point for exploring the surrounding area historically. The Kozjak waterfall can also be reached on foot in half an hour (go out right at the top at the back and not through the main entrance). The Napoleon Bridge is also close by. The buildings are mostly made of wood and fit in very well with the surroundings. The sanitary facilities were mostly clean, except for some toilets which were dubiously (or hastily?) abandoned after use. The beer tastes good and is reasonably priced. The pitch (not parceled out) was also perfectly fine at €35 for 2 days for car + roof tent and me. A clear recommendation for the campsite!

"A natural paradise for "paddlers" - The campsite is located slightly north-east of the center of Kobarid. Directly on the beautiful Soča, although the path to the river is narrow and steep. The site is terraced and close to nature, without a lot of frills. There are two functional sanitary facilities on the site. The lower terrace is particularly suitable for mobile homes and caravans, and there is also a separate, car-free tent area. The upper terrace is suitable for all types of camping, I recommend steel pegs. Some of the designated tent pitches have electricity. There is a small snack bar (from 16:00), a mini store and a playground right next to the reception. The site is also a very popular starting point for canoeists and "paddlers" of all kinds. This is also the campsite's main target group. There are also several hiking, cycling and mountain biking trails around the campsite, which are mainly aimed at experienced and trained recreational athletes.

"Wonderful campsite - Wonderful campsite above the Soca river. Sunny and shady pitches, mostly not parceled out (which I like). Friendly service, clean sanitary facilities. Rafting and kayaking tours can also be booked at the campsite; highly recommended.

"Beautifully laid out but then forgotten to maintain - On arrival, the very friendly young woman at reception couldn't find our reservation. So we had to choose one of the very narrow pitches and come back later when another member of staff was on reception duty. This employee could have learned a lot from her younger colleague in terms of friendliness. Of course, the pitch we had chosen was not available and we had to move again. The sanitary facilities are partly new and quite nicely laid out. The older ones are quite cramped and nested, e.g. sinks in close proximity to the urinals. However, they were kept clean. We didn't like the fact that some things were nicely laid out but then never maintained. The wooden steps on the way down to the Soca were weathered and difficult to walk on. Many of the wooden railings around the campsite and along the many steps also looked so dilapidated that they hardly fulfilled their function. For active campers, however, the site is certainly a good starting point for canyoning, hiking, cycling or mountain biking tours, as the surrounding area has a lot to offer.

Kamp Koren Kobarid is a home away from home for those seeking a genuine, unadulterated experience. It is located on the left bank of the Soča, not far from Kobarid (formerly Karfreit), where the emerald-green Soča emerges from a narrow …gorge, widens and flows south over beautiful white sandbanks. Kamp Koren was the first campsite in Slovenia to be awarded the European Eco-label, the European certificate for eco-tourism. Whether you are looking for a motorhome, a caravan, glamping or a tent in a small forest, the wide range of camping options at Kamp Koren is sure to inspire you. All pitches have electric hook-ups. There is also the option of emptying chemical toilets and waste water tanks and refilling fresh water tanks near the reception. In addition to its climbing tower, Kamp Koren offers you a variety of other sporting activities, such as a boccia court, a beach volleyball court and a table tennis table. Our younger guests can climb and slide in the children's playground. Practising winter sports in Slovenia is easy, as there is a wide range of winter activities for you to choose from. You can either go downhill skiing or learn how to cross-country ski at a course. There are also numerous hiking trails and guided tours for snowshoeing in idyllic landscapes. In our shop, we offer you organic ECOCAMPING web products from local organic farmers, such as fruit and vegetables, homemade cheese, honey, herbs, spices and other typical local specialities. We have also created small beds for our guests to pick herbs from for free. Our guests will find the following on the campsite: a shop (selling organic products), a children's playground with a small climbing wall, a climbing tower, 8m high, for beginners and professionals, a beach volleyball court, mountain bike rental (also for children), a boules court, table tennis, table tennis bat and ball hire, use of washing machine and dryer and sauna.
