View of the Lake Site Infrastructure
Negativa
Street noise Very narrow lots (Olivenplatz) In some cases, no visible boundary separating the lots from the paths
Double-edged
The site is in a fantastic location by the lake, but it’s also right next to the main access road to the A8 highway. As a result, there’s heavy traffic noise around the clock—everyday trucks and cars, and on weekends, many extremely loud motorcycles and cars.

The lake is visible from almost every plot,... including the beautiful sunsets.
The plots are covered with light-colored gravel, with only patches of grass. Advantage: rainwater doesn’t form puddles. However, since the paths are covered with the same type and color of gravel, the boundaries between the paths and the sites are not clearly visible—especially at intersections and curves—which isn’t ideal with children and can even be dangerous. The sites are very small; cars generally don’t fit on them, but there are plenty of parking spaces. There’s a lot of traffic from people arriving and departing for overnight stays due to the campground’s proximity to the highway.

Cleanliness is okay, the restrooms are modern, the bistro is nice, and the service is friendly.

The gravel beach, which gives the lake its clear water, isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I liked it.

The surroundings are very beautiful.

Immediately at the lake, a mega nice friendly lady at the reception so clean and beautiful toilets. The decor if you can call it that of the place is very tasteful and upscale. I don't know for the life of me what middle class would be for me this is an upscale place. Great for dog walks, delicious pizza on the square The owners: thank you very much for being a tastefully furnished camping site 🥰

The street noise was almost unbearable
If you are looking for street noise, this is the place for you
The maxi pitches by the water are really nice. The noise from the road robs you of sleep at night. The open wash house is actually not bad but relatively narrow in front of the wash basins. More sinks in the toilets or showers would be better

- Extreme street noise - Chemical toilet machine defective, no other option for emptying available - Only 2 urinals, one without flushing (defective) - Toilets unclean and full of cobwebs
unreasonable
This campsite was a negative experience. The directly adjacent, busy country road does not create a vacation atmosphere and gives the feeling of camping on a highway service area. It was not possible to empty the chemical toilet on site, you had to report to reception and were then driven to the neighboring... campsite together with the chemical toilet, which then cost 3 (!) euros. Toilets and showers only superficially cleaned (cobwebs everywhere). There were only 2 urinals in the men's toilet, one of which had a faulty flush and smelled permanently of urine.
The location directly on the lake could not outweigh the negative circumstances.

Very noisy due to the directly adjacent street, also got assigned parking space directly at the registration, this was very bad because every day all arrivals stood in front of our place and also disturbed. Thus a relaxed vacation not possible. The sanitary facilities were only cleaned in the morning and toilet paper was filled out, so it happened regularly that soiling and missing toilet paper were the order of the day.
Loud and unfriendly
The place is too expensive for the service offered and if you draw the staff's attention to the issues you get an unfriendly response!

Max pitches directly on the lake.
Negativa
The main road is directly behind the Max pitches, so it is very, very noisy. This was bad for us. The new sanitary facilities in this area are nice, but unfortunately there is only one cubicle with a washbasin. The other washbasins are in the outer area. No privacy.... Disposal of the chemical toilet only possible against payment in the vending machine.
Nice campsite, but new Max pitches directly on the main road
Actually a nice campsite in a great location on the lake ... for us it was much too noisy by the main road and also very expensive ... have paid with 3 dogs a day 82 € ( ... for Max pitches there are no discounts)

Chiemsee Stop
The registration was very quick due to the possibility of filling out the registration form online, and I can only praise the staff, the noise from the street was still bearable. The sanitary facilities are always clean but very cramped, and very dark in the men's rooms. The V/E station for motorhomes is right in front of the pizzeria. The exit is not easy, a busy cycle path is right in front of the barrier, and of course the road.

Simply a wonderful stay once again
We simply love this campsite. Large pitch right on the water, super nice new wash house. It was always clean. Even with questions or concerns, everyone was always nice and accommodating. This was our third time at the campsite and it certainly won't be the last.
Many thanks to Harry and his team.

Beautiful, but expensive!
Beautifully situated campsite, right on the water. The location is really great. We were in the front row, less than 10 meters from the water. Fantastic view.
New wash house on the main site, everything else is new and modern. Unfortunately, the chemical toilet emptying system is also new. There is no... normal emptying system, as on any other campsite, but only a chemical toilet machine, which you have to pay for. Emptying 3 €, plus filling with toilet additive 1.50 € if you want to. Emptying in the normal toilet is expressly punished with a €30 fine and expulsion from the site.
The price is quite high in my opinion. We probably had a front row pitch with electricity and water on site, but there was no waste water. We were traveling in the low season and paid €54 per day despite having an ACSI card, plus the toilet emptying fee.

In front of us the Chiemsee, fantastic! Behind us the main road, very busy, even in the evening.
Fantastic location, but unfortunately very very loud!
We had a pitch on the Maxplatz. The sanitary facilities are in a container, not a luxury, but showers and toilets are available, but nowhere near as attractive as on the main site!

Very nice location of the pitches, directly on the lake
Negativa
--Sanitary building -- traffic noise
Directly on the lake, but also directly on the road
We had booked one of the new Max pitches, which used to be on the Möwenplatz and now belong to Strandcamping Chiemsee as a result of the merger. ----The pitches are located directly on a busy road, so there is a lot of traffic noise from 6 or 7 am, all day long --- The pitches are spatially separated... from the rest of the campsite, so to get to the reception you have to drive along the road or walk along the beach. So there is no restaurant, coffee or other entertainment on these pitches either. Bread roll service must be ordered by 8pm for the next day and handed in at reception. Very nice location of the pitches directly on the lake --- long narrow pitches were sufficient for us and our caravan ---- Sanitary building very outdated, a new one is planned for next year. The showers are very small and without a partition, i.e. everything gets wet and it is hardly possible to get into a new pair of pants dry. There is very little light in the washing cubicles, as there is only one lamp with little luminosity, and also very little light in the toilets in the evening (only lamps in the central corridor). There is no sink for washing clothes, but there is a washing machine and dryer (not free of charge). It also doesn't help that a new one is planned here, because it wasn't there this year. --- The path to the pitches is simply filled in with gravel, so not suitable for cycling either All in all: In addition to the expensive prices in the main season of 51.50 euros per pitch and day, there is also electricity 1 euro per KWh service charge 1.50 euros per person and day and the tourist tax We will definitely not be back, the negative things outweigh the positive things for us.

Noisy road right next to the pitch, far too few toilets, showers and washing facilities for the number of campers. Only one machine for chemical toilets - queue guaranteed. Cleanliness and maintenance of the site leaves a lot to be desired.
Simple place with inflated prices
Our pitch for the camper was large and perfectly fine. The pitch was very full and the number of sanitary facilities was far too small. The toilets and showers are very cramped. Otherwise there are pool tables, fitness equipment etc. on the site. Everything is there, but all in a really small space 😏... Sometimes less is more.
Overall, we found the place overpriced. Service charge here and processing fee there don't exactly make it a fair price-performance ratio in the end.

We liked everything,...except the weather....but Harry is not responsible for that 😀
Again and again with pleasure...
We have been coming back to Strandcamping every year since June 2018.
Harry, the friendly operator, is always concerned about the well-being of his guests and helps wherever he can. There are entertaining music evenings on the terrace, where Harry himself sits down at the piano. The place is constantly being embellished and modernized. Delicious fresh pizza is prepared in the new PIZZA PAVILLON.

Location, everything new, modern and clean, stress-free shower, good bread service
Negativa
Unstable WLAN, no normal emptying of the chemical toilet, no normal gray water drain, noisy street
Location top, cleanliness top, only small deductions
Superbly located modern campsite. Ideal for boat trips, SUP, swimming etc. on Lake Chiemsee

In Chieming (15 minutes on foot) there is everything you need. Supermarket, restaurants, cafes etc.

Advantages
Location, location, location. You can go into the water directly from the campsite, go boating,... rent SUPs etc. TOP! Everything else is nice, modern, new and clean. Really good: stress-free showers. No timer, no coins, just shower :-) There are "real" baked goods at the bread service. There is also an Italian snack bar on site. It's "ok" but nothing more.

Disadvantages
Unfortunately, the WLAN is very unstable. The lighting is ok, but something else doesn't seem to fit properly. What a pity. Otherwise I would have liked a normal toilet emptying system. There is only one machine, which takes a long time. No problem in the low season, in the high season there is probably a wait. The 3€ per cleaning is ok. Unfortunately, there is only one waste water outlet at the large motorhome waste water point. It's kind of "stupid" or I didn't discover the normal waste water. Also possible ;-) Please note that a country road runs right past the site. So it is rather noisy than quiet.

New campers who do not comply with the campsite rules
For over 5 years guest at the CP us very satisfied
For over 5 years, the CP has been a permanent pitch for us directly on the shores of Lake Chiemsee. We enjoy our time with the friendly staff, who always have an open ear and a solution for our guests and their concerns.
The sanitary facilities are very clean and well maintained. The kiosk with bar has... a good offer and bread roll service. The very lovely and cozy sun terrace invites you to linger in good weather and watch the beautiful sunset.
However, I would like to note that there are "new campers" due to Corona who do not understand how to behave at the campsite, show no consideration for their camping neighbors and sometimes do not comply with the campsite rules.

Street noise, cleanliness
Located directly on a noisy street
We were there at the end of July with 2 small children in a caravan. The campsite stretches between a road and the Chiemsee right into the village of Chieming. Accordingly, it has two sides, a beautiful one facing the lake and a quiet one facing the road. We were there for 2 days from Saturday to Monday;... shorter was not possible. The high temperatures forced us to at least leave the roof hatches open. We had only planned a relaxing stopover on the way to the Ruhr area. But "relaxing" was not possible. The road was relatively busy and 10 to 15 m away as the crow flies; there was no noise protection in between. At around 3 to 4 a.m., the party homecomers took over from the work drivers. It was difficult to sleep. I'm amazed that there are actually campers who stay here longer!!!
The cleanliness was also poor during our visit. There were cobwebs everywhere in the sanitary and washing-up areas. The soap dispenser was always empty, as were the paper towels. There was still a diaper and empty beer bottles lying around on the beach during our entire stay. Cigarette butts on the paths and on the pitch. It should of course be noted here that the campsite was full. The reception, on the other hand, was very friendly and courteous.
We cannot recommend the campsite - especially for an overnight stay.
