We were put off by the comment about the poor sanitary facilities. But as the hotel had made a real investment, we extended our stay by 2 nights.

* super nice, very hard-working operators * Bus 110 to the city center leaves directly in front of the door and takes 18 minutes (Attention for all with strollers / wheelchairs etc.). It is a kind of small coach. Theoretically there is a wheelchair ramp, in practice we had to dismantle our double baby carriage twice and squeeze it in at the back via the door, a bit stressful, but doable). * different sized seats, many of them nicely shaded

* Somewhat stupidly located on a narrow, busy country road. So you could hardly leave the pitch with a baby carriage. As a single person, you also have to walk a bit along the road first. Once you have managed that, however, there are probably a few very nice hiking trails, as we heard from other campers. * No toilet paper or soap, as is apparently usual for **campsites
A good base for a visit to Aix en Provence
We ended up here by chance because the city campsite was full. Actually, this site was also full, but the operators made every effort to accommodate us. There is a pool (which we didn't use), the atmosphere was super friendly and the bus to the city meant that nothing stood in the way of sightseeing. We stayed for two nights, but unfortunately the area was not ideal for more nights with small children.

Always the sanitary building...
We mostly like the French campsites. They are beautifully laid out, often like a park. This one is no exception.
What we can't understand are the often, as here, mediocre to poor sanitary facilities.
What drives the campsite operators not to provide toilet seats, toilet paper or soap? You can buy soap... on every corner in France.
Why is the water for washing dishes barely lukewarm? How are you supposed to get the dishes clean?
The campsite is in a good location, but from our point of view it is only good for 1-2 nights. With a decent sanitary building, we would be happy to stay longer. In any case, we won't be back.

Beautifully situated in the forest. Great starting point for hiking or bike tours.

Unfortunately no bread service for breakfast. to go shopping or eating out you have to drive a few kilometers. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Speak very good English. They make reservations for their guests in the restaurant not too far away.

We really liked it there.
It's not a luxury place, but super clean and well-kept.
Small problems are easily solved with incredible friendliness.

We were lucky and were able to occupy one of the few pitches with a clear view of the surrounding area. There were lots of trees and shrubs. You could see that the sanitary facilities had grown with the site. I preferred the disabled container! The bus stop for the bus to Aix en Provence is directly... in front of the campsite, the journey costs 1 euro! There is a lot of hiking in the surrounding area - beautiful countryside at the foot of Mont Victoire.

Cozy campsite between Aix-en-Provence and the St. Victoire Mountains
This small and cozy campsite is located approx. 8 km east of Aix-en-Provence, right next to the St. Victoire mountains and the nature reserve of the same name. If you are looking for a great mountain panorama, this is the place for you. The area is ideal for hiking and climbing - which is why it is so... busy at the weekends. Sightseeing in the charming town is also an option - we recommend taking the inexpensive bus that stops right outside the campsite. Due to its location close to the Route-Cézanne, some traffic noise cannot be ignored during the day - but we had peace and quiet at night. The pitches vary in size and are mostly divided by bushes and hedges - there are also larger trees and therefore shady pitches. Electricity connections and water taps are available. The mixed-use sanitary facilities are quite old and could do with renovation - however, everything is functional and clean, which is more important to us. You can buy the most necessary groceries at reception - including fresh bread to order. However, there are no other shopping facilities within walking distance! The site operator and staff are very friendly and helpful. Pleasant: The barrier remains open during the lunch break - new arrivals can choose a pitch (except for pitches marked with a pylon) and register later. A supply and disposal station for camper vans is available. The only downside: apart from the numerous, well-marked hiking trails through the area, there are no footpaths or cycle paths along the roads. As the roads are narrow and busy, we didn't go on any bike rides or after-dinner walks.

Hello, the entrance to the roques-hautes park is 600m from the campsite.
from the campsite and afterwards there are several hikes to suit all tastes and fitness levels.
