actually only the location, the way from the campsite to Stavelot was not too far, so at least at least the town was a little pleasant and interesting.
Negativa
the sanitary facilities, not up to date and not necessarily clean and the price are not worth staying here, when I arrived it was still quite nice, I stayed for one night, The operators were certainly friendly, but I can't run a site like this. Too bad, there really is more potential here. Can't recommend it.
a piece of land that showed more at the beginning, but wasn't,
I was on the course in the time frame from 27 to 28.09.2025,
the journey was certainly quite nice, as was the location, but that was it, nothing more.

Friendliness was ok.

A great pity, because there is and could be more potential here.
The price is not right, too expensive for "no service" except... overnight stay, the sanitary facilities are simply not up to date and not in order, also not necessarily clean and appealing.

I cannot recommend this place,
50 years ago something like this was certainly okay, which I also know from my camping days from that time, but not today.

And this is not about badmouthing or anything like that, a sensible
attitude and objective presentation are fundamental to this recession.

The place, the direction of the campsite by Madam and her husband, fires by the tent and the river, everything pleased us. And the dog was allowed

Small-scale, characteristic campsite
This wonderful campsite has character partly due to the owners who have maintained it for 40 years with care and love. Not everyone's taste perhaps but we liked it very much, the real camping without much fuss.

I loved' the endroity, it was quiet, and on a river. I found the owner very helpful and welcoming.

We loved' our stay at the Challes campsite. And of course we'll be back. The campsite is in the middle of nature, next to a small river, ideal for small children. The owner gave us lots of information about the surrounding area, which includes several activities for children. The campsite is quiet and... surrounded by nature. From the campsite, you can go for lovely walks along the Ambleve river and reach Stavelot on foot. Services are essential and clean, which is what we normally look for in a campsite.

Natural campsite next to a river.
I relaxed in this campsite and found myself with my family. Very good times and beautiful memories...

Expensive and filthy primitive plumbing
Expensive dirty and unfriendly campsite
For everything you have to pay a lot , then also 1,50 for a dirty shower. Dog is 2,50. So very expensive for a very dated campsite. I left there with a hefty argument because for a camper with 2 people they charged me 30 euros per night. And that is not explained upon entry. Very unfriendly proprietors.
