"Well-kept CP in Locarno - The campsite is lovingly maintained and the staff are very friendly. Everything is as it should be. The rear area is park-like with access to the lake and a small sandy beach. The rental caravans are as good as new and over 8 meters long (Dethleffs camper), the awning rather simple but functional. The two playgrounds are also very clean and popular with the children. Sanitary facilities are clean and central. The Ticino Ticket is provided free of charge and you can use it to travel on public transport throughout the canton of Ticino. We liked it at Camping Delta and will be back again.

"Beautiful, but simply too expensive - The area for permanent campers and the higher-priced pitches are more spacious. But the large number of campers pay a high price for little space of their own. For us, the price-performance ratio was not right.

"Nice place if you don't expect too much - We spent our summer vacation here this year. The site is beautifully situated on the lake and you have good access to the water. The site is also very well maintained! The staff were very nice! The pitches are a bit cramped depending on the location but sufficient. Unfortunately there is only electricity on the pitch, even on the "better" pitches there are only water taps and no direct outlets on the pitch or at the taps. You also have to bear in mind that you have to walk long distances to dispose of waste, depending on the location. We liked the fact that the night's rest is respected and that most people are at least considerate of each other. The sanitary facilities are spartan but adequate. Unfortunately, they were always being cleaned during the main toilet times so that there was congestion in the other toilets. Also, the showers were not always clean at peak times. The pizza in the restaurant was great! And the bread rolls were delicious. You can explore and discover a lot around here. If you don't always look very closely, the place is really nice and you can have a good vacation and relax here! We would love to come back!

"Overpriced, inflexible and absolutely not recommended for motorcycle travelers - I have been traveling by motorcycle and tent for over 25 years and have experienced many campsites around the world. Unfortunately, the Delta campsite in Locarno is a negative exception for me. Motorcyclists are not allowed to ride their bikes onto the site. I had to unload all my luggage, load it onto a trolley and carry it on foot across the large site to the tent pitch. And that on the day of arrival and departure, even in the pouring rain. Despite polite suggestions, such as briefly opening the nearby gate or pushing my motorcycle by hand, there was no exception or goodwill. Interestingly, there are huge luxury motorhomes parked behind the gate that cannot possibly fit over the main entrance. I'm sure they are allowed to use the gate. At the same time, cars, e-scooters and bicycles drive freely around the site. This unequal treatment clearly feels discriminatory to me. The tent meadow was listed as full, although it was almost empty when I arrived and didn't fill up the next day either. Directly behind it is a large, unused area that could easily have been used as a motorcycle parking lot. However, a simple and logical solution was rejected. The employee at reception had to deal with my frustration, although she only implements instructions. My anger is directed at the management, who score points with rigid rules and customer unfriendliness. I paid 84 francs for one night with a tent and one person, with no electricity, no service and no flexibility. The price-performance ratio is unacceptable to me. The restaurant was barely occupied, but there was no service at all. Further evidence of a lack of service at high prices. The campsite exploits the attractive location in Locarno and access to the lake to make maximum profit. Obviously at the expense of individual travelers and motorcyclists. I will never stay there again and recommend that you urgently reconsider such rules.

"A safe value in Ticino - We have been visiting this paradisiacal campsite since the 1980s. Checking in is quick and completely unbureaucratic (we have a reservation for 3 nights). The shady spot on the peninsula is ideal in high summer. We had about 24° Celsius). The pitches are spacious, even for larger motorhomes and caravans. The store is very well stocked and has generous opening hours. The absolute hit is the camp's own restaurant, which has been run by the same owners for 38 years. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine and fresh products. The quality is of a high standard. The only thing I can't understand is that they still accept construction plastic for the awnings. X years ago I wrote about this shortcoming on this site and was given a beautiful CD by the operator at the time. It is imperative that a remedy is found here. Vegetation has a particularly hard time thriving in the dry conditions in Ticino. The vegetation is radically destroyed by building plastic on the ground. The site is completely dog-free, which we see as a big plus.
