Positiva
The scenery around Füssen is uniquely beautiful. The location of the Bannwaldsee campground is fantastic. The campground's amenities and facilities are fine. The staff's attitude and demeanor are okay. Very good Wi-Fi
Negativa
Our site consisted almost entirely of grass and gravel. The restaurant manager (not at Stadl!) was not very friendly. Bus service: See the “Comments” field
Sweet & Sour
The bus service is a total disaster:
- The 1:44 p.m. bus didn’t show up at all
- Waited 45 minutes
- 2:28 p.m.: The two-axle bus is already pretty full; at the Hohenschwangau Catles stop, a lot of people are waiting for the bus; there’s no way they can fit everyone; they cram in as many as they can,... and the rest are left behind, frustrated.

Return trip: 4:45 p.m., the bus and driver are ready; but they’re still in the waiting area—passengers aren’t allowed to board yet; at 4:58 p.m., the bus finally pulls up; once again, there are more people waiting to board than the two-axle bus can accommodate; where is the bus going? Who is allowed—and supposed—to board, and who isn’t? Pure chaos.
At the Pulverturm, a class of 26 students is standing there and wants—or needs—to ride; have they registered? Why isn’t there an articulated bus? Tumult, chaos, and a driver who’s completely overwhelmed. At some point, he drives off with his crammed-full bus so fast and aggressively that one can’t even imagine what might have happened if there had been an accident.

I expect the campground management to intervene with the relevant departments of the bus company and, above all, to stop recommending the bus to their guests effective immediately! What we experienced there is more than just a mess—it’s definitely unacceptable!

Bannwald Stadl Peace and quiet Clean sanitary facilities Nice staff Ideal for cycling tours
Negativa
too small pitches, cuddle camping Sloping pitches Too few toilets and showers in the rear area at full capacity Quality of the restaurant
Nice campsite with restrictions
Beautifully situated campsite. With a barn where there is always an event. The restaurant, well. Food wasn't that great. Musty salad. Although we pointed it out, it was ignored. No replacement, discount or other concession. So there was no tip either. Therefore unfortunately not recommended.
Still a... great place overall. The staff are helpful and nice.
Just one small but. We were there before the national holiday and everything was great. Then came the long weekend and there were lots of C campers (corona campers) who behaved accordingly. The sanitary facilities weren't so clean, although the cleaners went through several times a day. There are always people who behave quite badly. It would be nice if people left the toilets and showers as clean as they found them. It's not the operator's fault, but every camper should take a good look at themselves.
When the campsite is full to capacity, there are too few toilets and showers at the back of the site. In my opinion, another thing that is not so great is that there is a small space in front of the men's toilet opposite the washbasin for disposing of the chemical toilet, which could have been done differently during construction or planning.

About the pitch:
Partly very small plots and sloping pitches, every cm is used (cuddle camping). With a larger caravan you have problems parking it, let alone accommodating the vehicle on the pitch.

We will come back at some point, but only if the site is not fully booked.

The site plan on the internet should also be revised, the layout of the sleeping barrels and mobile homes is no longer up to date.

Great location, everything clean and well structured, large pitches, also the motorhome park in front of the campsite ideal and equipped with everything. We were really looking forward to the Stadl and the restaurant but unfortunately both were closed that day. Showers and toilets were large, modern and very clean.
Negativa
The rudest, most impertinent receptionist I have ever had to experience on a campsite. If there was only one "lady" there, I would never want to be there again.
Actually a perfect campsite
The campsite is a top place due to its location, the Bannwaldsee, the royal castles with Schwangau and Füssen. Super layout, very clean, modern sanitary facilities, catering with farmers' market with the best regional bread rolls and sausages and everything else you need. The automatic cleaning machine for the chemical toilet deserves special mention - simple and perfect.

The shuttle bus to Neuschwanstein Castle takes 10 minutes. A supermarket is only a few minutes away by car. There is a small store, a bakery and two restaurants directly on the campsite.
Negativa
Electricity is charged separately (€ 0.80 per kWh). Nevertheless, a great stay overall - we would love to come back! 🌟
Super!
Beautiful campsite!
The reception was very warm and professional - you immediately feel welcome.

However, we were particularly impressed by the sanitary facilities: absolutely clean, modern and very well maintained. The showers are spacious, the water is always hot and everything looks new and hygienic. It really is a pleasure to use these facilities!

A perfect place to relax - we'll definitely be back! 🌟

Prices for 2 adults + 1 child 68€/ day + electricity Wlan and telephone connection partly bad or not possible at all. Staff in the farmers market/reception very unfriendly The road noise from the adjacent highway can be heard very clearly. We found the announcements of events up to 4 times a day, which were then stuttered together, very annoying.
Completely overcrowded, very restless and overpriced place
A very restless and overpriced place that is completely overcrowded in the high season. We found the announcements of events up to 4 times a day, which were then stuttered together, very annoying. The road noise from the adjacent highway can be heard very clearly. There is nothing for children either,... apart from a small playground outside the campsite and an entertainment tent.
There are no showers at the lake.
Staff at the farmers' market/reception very unfriendly
Insufficient number of toilets in the rear area, in the morning you have to queue or walk the long way to the main building.
Toilets were always clean
Wifi and telephone connection sometimes poor or not possible at all.
Prices for 2 adults + 1 child €68/day + electricity are not justified
Overall, a beautifully located place that is designed to maximize profits and has the charm of a freeway service area.

Great location, very clean, sanitary facilities always clean and replenished. Staff always available.
Negativa
There is nothing, or nothing that the campsite can do anything about. Only the fellow campers: like everywhere else, there is a squeegee in the showers so that you can leave your shower cubicle clean afterwards. Very few campers can do that! What a pity!
Any time again
If you book early for the high season, you can also get the pitch you want. The pitches are big enough if you stand and set up properly! The service with the pallets for bad weather is great! Of course you have to pay for them (€4/pallet + €2/pallet deposit) but I think that's ok - better than having... a wet awning floor all the time! And if guests think they can just take the pallets without paying, we think that's cheeky. Then everyone is surprised when this service is no longer offered!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. The Stadl and the restaurant are highly recommended! The food was great and freshly prepared.

Cleanliness in the sanitary facilities was impeccable at all times!

We were thrilled and will definitely be back!!!

Positiva
Good location to sights, clean sanitary facilities, friendly and helpful groundskeepers
Negativa
Pitches very small, in case of rain there are pallets to put underneath for an exaggerated price and deposit, Most pitches have a steep gradient, Gastronomy is the purest disaster - they advertise over loudspeakers about the food on offer and then only against order - price performance does not work at all, Reception partly unfriendly, Children's entertainment (magician) for a fee, trampolines and table tennis table, field hockey pitch are closed early, high electricity costs, sometimes poor satellite reception
Very dissatisfied
The restaurant (Stadel) is a disaster, spontaneous visit (food) hardly possible, wanted to eat twice and twice there was nothing left.
How can you (in Bavaria) only make knuckle of pork to order and then without any information! If you don't feel like it, then you should leave it alone!

- Family friendly - Helpful - great offers - Good food for everyone! - Offers for children

I really can't complain! Except that there's no indoor playground or anything like that in bad weather, which is a bit of a bummer. But we've heard that's going to be added this year too.
Campsite for families!
We have been going back to the campsite for 3 years now and there is always something new and beautiful! The staff are super friendly and everyone is very helpful! Our dogs are very welcome and you can eat really well in the Stadl. During the main season there is a lot on offer (trampolines, children's days, attractions), unfortunately we were out of season this time.

far too many dogs
Dogs, stupid dog owners, pooches
We were at the campsite from Christmas 24 to New Year 25. Unfortunately, almost everyone had a mutt with them, these critters barked and howled all day long. But the worst thing is that they piss and poop everywhere ..... . Many pooch owners don't care and leave everything lying around or throw the bags... in the hedge.
At this time of year with normal white snow (now all yellow from the dog urine) quite clearly visible.
However, it's not the dogs' fault, it's the dog owners who are so beklopten that cause trouble because almost all of them are unreasonable.
I hope that every dog owner gets a good shitting in their motorhome/caravan.
Ugh .
Poor connection to public transport as there are few buses in the evening.

I can't think of anything
Gladly again
Very nice place, nice staff, by the bus stop directly at the entrance you are also mobile as a motorhome owner in bad weather, the sanitary facilities are very clean (even the somewhat older, not yet modernized are completely sufficient) and also nice and warm in the beginning autumn cold.
Restaurant... on site: very tasty food, good value for money
Our pitch was a bit further away from the main building, but had the advantage that we didn't hear anything about the events in the Stadl. Generally nice and quiet, may be different in high season.
Unfortunately, Frau Holle has switched to waterbeds, but nobody has any influence on that. Nevertheless, we were able to unpack our bikes at least one day and enjoy the landscape on the good paths around Forggensee and Bannwaldsee.
All in all, we can recommend it and will definitely be back when the weather is better.

Everything is always clean and well organized
Negativa
Unfortunately, this campsite is located in the middle of a busy main road and the campsite is very cramped with no space to spread out a little, which is a shame and it is very noisy on this campsite due to the main road and the cars that drive back and forth on the campsite all day. For us this campsite is not an option again and we would not recommend it because of the lack of idyll.
No more for us
The service is completely in order always everything clean all friendly but the electricity bill is blatant we had used 9 kilowatt hours for one day which is completely unrealistic as our caravan runs on 12 volts. They couldn't help us with that either. The remaining 7 days we used 18 kW which also seems very high to me but is unrealistic in relation to the first day.

Very well organized, with friendly staff. Shopping facilities, restaurants with entertainment. Cleanliness of the sanitary facilities.

That soccer is played in the outdoor seating area at the old pizzeria. That's an imposition for the nearby pitches.
It was our first time at the campsite and we were more than satisfied.
The organization, the friendliness, the cleanliness and the location. The fact that there are no motorboats and windsurfers was convenient for us, we think it's great that there is a store and a children's program, we have already booked for 2025 I think that says it all.

Not really our thing...
The place is not to our taste. It's like a dovecote. We didn't feel comfortable there. The lake looks rather dirty. Unfortunately, our dog had diarrhea for two days after cooling off briefly and taking a hearty sip. Even "DJ Bayernpower" was unable to remedy the situation.

Great place right on the lake
We actually only discovered this great campsite by chance and our pitch request was taken into account when we made the reservation.
The reception was very friendly and check-in was straightforward. There are two restaurants on site, one of which is always open. A small store has everything you need,... including delicious bread rolls.
The bus right outside the front door takes you quickly and free of charge to the royal castles or to Schwangau or Füssen.
The free W-Lan is easy to receive.
Above all, we would like to emphasize the great and very clean sanitary facilities.
