Surrounded by water, with plenty of opportunities to go for a swim… and if you stand at the front, you can enjoy the view, too! Lots of little islands all around—almost like in Croatia 😂 Beautiful winding paths—you’re right in the middle of the greenery! Beautiful scenery all around… Friendly staff… great recreational options… a pool, which is also a rarity… A restaurant right on the grounds, offering takeout as well…

It’s quite a long way to the water station in some places, the restroom facilities are too small—there are only 4 toilets and 2 urinals—and there’s always a line! The toilet paper was constantly out, and I thought the shower system was terrible! …You have to press the button every 10 seconds, and sometimes barely any warm water comes out with low pressure! Unfortunately, the lake is very weedy, and the lack of a nice beach doesn’t really make it inviting for swimming… If you’re parked closer to the front, I could imagine the road being annoying too—there’s quite a bit of traffic there.
A beautiful, idyllic spot right on the water
Despite everything, we had a lovely, relaxing time—even though the weather wasn’t great, the location and view were perfect… You really couldn’t ask for a better spot…!!!
I’d love to see the restroom facilities improved a bit and maybe a nice stretch of beach cleared of rocks and weeds! (I’ve seen better at other spots around the lake.)

A great, well-equipped campground right on the lake
Great spot with excellent restroom facilities (brick-built restrooms) right on the lake, with plenty of (small access points).
Many campsites right on the lake. Good restaurant and a small kiosk. Additional shopping options nearby. Everything is easily accessible by bike via bike paths.
Unfortunately,... the “swimming beaches” are very small. The lake is very shallow and heavily overgrown, so swimming isn’t much fun. So head out on a boat instead. When it’s windy, rowing back becomes quite a workout. Motorboats aren’t allowed.

The location is right on Lake Plön. Direct access to the network of bike paths. Plön is not far away. Many recreational opportunities (cycling, water sports, nature, and culture).

Even after thinking about it for a long time, I still can't think of anything.
Prime location with a very good restaurant
The location right on Lake Plön, in the middle of park-like grounds and not far from the town of the same name, is fantastic. The campsites are truly spacious, each with its own water and electricity hookups. As for the restrooms, they are modern, clean, and exceptionally well-maintained. The restaurant... isn’t very large inside, but
with the covered outdoor terrace, it’s still spacious enough. Nevertheless, it’s necessary to make a reservation in advance. Our meal (rice curry with vegetables, pollock fillet with fried potatoes) was very good. The prices were reasonable, too.
All in all, a top-notch campground.

A nice place with some limitations
We were back at this very beautiful campground for the third time in several years, but this time we were extremely annoyed by the heavy car traffic. Our site at Rohrdommelbucht was located right on the main access road, which—due to the campground’s long, narrow peninsula layout—is true for most of... the sites. From the moment the gate opened at 7:00 a.m., there was constant traffic moving at a snail’s pace along the gravel path—whether to pick up bread rolls or because the walk to the private bathrooms was too far. We often found ourselves wondering as early as 8:00 a.m. where all these cars were still coming from—the campground should have been empty by then… It was truly a major nuisance, especially at a “nature” campground. The private restrooms—which were new to us—were extremely far from our site, at the very front of the campground, behind the reception desk. A “quick trip” to the restroom isn’t feasible at that distance. Okay, we could have looked it up on the campground map beforehand, but we’ve never experienced anything like this anywhere else. The restaurant—if you can even get a seat there—was okay in terms of quality, but completely overwhelmed organizationally; new rules were in effect every day, and they were interpreted completely differently depending on the server—they could improve things quite a bit with a little more communication among themselves. Something else that stood out to us and several of our neighbors: The water supply—that is, connections to the individual sites—is pretty poor. At a 5-star campground, a connection on every site should really be standard.
But otherwise, it’s still a beautiful, very well-maintained campground in a great location.

Beautiful campsite for nature lovers
The Spitzenort course is very close to nature. The location on the peninsula allows for many pitches with a view of the lake. Most of the pitches are pleasantly large and often under trees. There is plenty on offer for children and teenagers, yet it is quiet and relaxing, as the football pitch, for example,... is on the edge of the campsite, so there is no noise pollution. The offer in the restaurant and the small store is good, the staff very friendly. Everything is very tidy and clean. There are plenty of sanitary facilities and exceptionally well-equipped cooking facilities and sinks.

Camping in beautiful nature
Camping site close to nature with great leisure facilities, in the middle of nature with many water birds, very nice sanitary facilities, sauna with lake view and restaurant on the site.
Pitch with direct lake access possible, bathing facilities with sunbathing lawn, where dogs are also allowed.

The direct location on the lake requires special attention from parents with small children.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April 2025 as a couple plus dog with our camper and felt completely at home. The location is unique: a headland in the lake with trees, bushes and natural boundaries to most of the pitches. Very well-kept and regularly cleaned sanitary facilities. A separate house with... attractive cooking, washing-up and laundry facilities. A small restaurant, a small store, numerous play facilities for small and older children, and, and, and. A campsite that has earned its stars.

Very quiet
A very beautiful and quiet campsite. Surrounded by water on 3 sides, simply wonderful. Very nice wash houses which are really spotless after cleaning. Washing-up areas with proper sinks and really hot water.

A campsite that delivers what it promises!
We were last here 4 years ago and have now spent our Easter vacation here again. It's always nice at this top location. A beautifully situated place and you get peace and relaxation from everyday life here. The old shipyard has been beautifully renovated and the site has really developed with a cinema,... swimming pool, new children's area etc.. The store on the site sells delicious bread rolls and everything else you need in the morning, the rest is available in Plön itself and is easy to reach by bike. The surrounding area is great for cycling and exploring and you can get to the Baltic Sea quickly. Plön is a small town, unfortunately the city center is not developing, but it's enough for a little stroll. Unfortunately all the activities (canoe rental/boat tours etc.) started on Good Friday and we had to go home on Easter Saturday, it would have been nice if it had been open in the first week of the vacation. All in all it was a nice vacation and we would love to come back!

Everything is fine
We had a nice pitch and as the nice people from Hamburg had placed themselves on the pitch in front of us, our view of the lake was preserved. We just wondered why we couldn't stand on the pitch right by the lake, because it was empty the whole time. The staff and sanitary facilities were excellent, the restaurant was delicious, but it's better to book a table a few days in advance. It wasn't our first time here and we'd love to come back.

Beautiful campsite 🫶
A very nice campsite. Great location surrounded by nature and yet close to the city. Plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area by bike or canoe. You are surrounded by many smaller and larger lakes. We particularly liked the fact that we were finally able to get to know a campsite that has... a pitch layout and therefore the rear pitches also have a view of the water. The sauna was simply unsurpassable. Highly recommended, especially in the evening at sunset.

Vacation at Spitzenort
The location of the place is great and very quiet, the entire facility including sanitary facilities are well maintained and clean. The staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. The small store has great bread rolls. The restaurant is also OK.
Actually an ideal vacation spot. But........, at least... every second pitch had at least one dog, up to three even. Most of them walk their dogs on a long lead on the pitch. We have nothing against dogs, we were dog owners ourselves for a long time, but what was going on was too much. It's not the dogs' fault, the owners don't stick to the rules. It's just a shame. There are now places where dogs are banned, maybe that's a solution for us.
