Outdoor pool, good selection of ice cream, nice little store, small playgrounds near the campsites, lots of activities for kids, actually nice campsites, nice indoor playground.

Noisy guests (mostly Dutch), not enough washing machines, restroom facilities are usually very dirty and cleaned at most once a day, and there are no restrooms by the lake.
Sounds great, but never again for us!
The biggest issues are the filthy restrooms and the guests’ inability to maintain cleanliness—especially among children and teens aged 10–18 (we were there with our own kids). But adults as well. Toilet seats and urinals covered in urine (yes, some people even aim right on top of them); for many, a toilet... brush is a foreign concept. Shower stalls are left completely filthy. At night, there’s a lot of shouting—sometimes until midnight—from groups of children and teenagers roaming the campground (despite security). Cars, bicycles, and e-scooters are going way too fast on the roads (up to an estimated 30 km/h where the speed limit is 10).
The lake looks nice, but to us it’s more like a pond. Especially in the back area, everyone pees in the bushes, which you can definitely smell. There aren’t enough restrooms here! At the outdoor pool, the showers (2) are constantly blocked—mostly by kids and teens again—and the staff doesn’t seem to care much. People are sliding way too close together on the slide. Accidents seem like just a matter of time.
We were especially unlucky with neighbors who like to listen to loud music and whose kids (teens) had to play soccer on the campsites. They didn’t seem to care if balls hit cars, tents, or RVs.
The biggest problem here seems to be the guests, some of whom I’d describe as antisocial. There’s a lot of trash on the campsites and in the bushes.
There are 4 washing machines and two dryers for the entire campground. We had to wait a total of 3 hours to use a washing machine. The entire park seems to be understaffed. Wait times build up quickly, even when there are hardly any people around.
The staff are very friendly, the store is really good, and the price differences compared to supermarkets are minimal. Assen is very easy to reach by bike and is definitely worth the trip.

Negativno
Internet isn't free. You have to pay for it, but there are many spots on the campground where it still doesn’t work or is terrible. So don’t buy internet access. If you want to drive in and out with a German license plate, the system fails almost every time. In the end, I had to drive in and out using a code that I had to enter manually.

The campground is worth its 5 stars.

There were four of us on this pitch. It was very nice. Only the children had problems making friends because it felt like we were the only Germans on the campsite.
But there is always something for the children to discover...😀

A dream for families
The pitches offer everyone what they want. Peace and quiet, shade or even a playground right outside the door. The lake is not very deep and therefore great for smaller children. The outdoor pool offers something for everyone. There are games all over the site. We, 2 adults and 3 small children, who actually wanted to go to the sea, were very enthusiastic. There are always places available spontaneously. We will be back.

Large pitches, everything very well maintained and clean, even the old wash house, Assen has a lot to offer!

The old wash house no longer fits in with the great space.
Beautiful place great price/performance
We were there over Ascension Day and Whitsun. Area 1100, well-kept pitch, plenty of space, just great. The only drawback: the wash house! No longer meets the requirements! Simply too old, but still clean !!! The operator should remedy this as soon as possible. There is a new wash house only too far away from these places, otherwise everything is great, we would love to come back. Price/performance is right
