The location of the campground was simply fantastic. The staff was always friendly, too. I’ll definitely recommend this campground to others! The restrooms were generally clean (at least the women’s ones). Unfortunately, the men’s restrooms often had a very unpleasant smell, and... the showers were often musty… according to my husbands. One small note: it’s nice when the hedges are trimmed, but it would be great if you could give a heads-up beforehand so the staff has room to do the trimming, and so the clippings are cleared away afterward instead of being left lying around (which can happen when staff is short). But just let us know. It didn’t make a good impression on some of our fellow campers either. But otherwise, we were completely satisfied and would come back anytime. Limiting the number of campers might actually help create a quieter atmosphere and prevent damage to property. There were too many unsupervised children. The washing facilities were great, but not very clean due to the crowds. Definitely... not during peak season. All in all, a very nice spot with a prime location by the lake—very idyllic. - NWNils W.julij 2026Pozitivno- Beautiful location in the Tyrolean countryside - The campground is beautifully nestled in the hills - The lake is perfect for swimming - Clean restroom facilities - Restroom building 3 is brand-new and luxurious - Good restaurant - Lots of activities - Good playground - Water playground - Nestled within tourist infrastructure such as hiking trails - Good guest card - Quiet at night despite being peak seasonNegativno- Some spots are a bit cramped - Many parking spots are not marked off - The snack bar is not recommended (frozen pizza for €14)The whole package is just rightA campground that leaves little to be desired. A few negative points were mentioned. However, the positive impression clearly outweighs them, so the overall experience is satisfying.
Many people criticize the lack of a lake view from most campsites. Critics, however, should take a closer look at the... topography. The campground is nestled in the heart of the Alpine landscape. The hills blocking the view of the lake are natural features, not man-made embankments! On the other hand, there are plenty of spots throughout the campground that do offer a lake view. You can walk up the hills, and there are benches set up there as well. So if you want a lake view, you’ll find it at plenty of spots on the grounds! The direct connection to the tourist hiking network is also great. The guest card includes access to many mountain railways. Great! Sanitary building 3 is so luxurious that most guests probably don’t even have anything like it at home. There’s also plenty on offer for kids, including a nice playground. The often-criticized graveled open area for overnight stays/basic camping spots is no longer there—or rather, it has now been landscaped. The site map available online is no longer up to date! The restrooms were cleaned several times a day and were spotless at all times.
With the Albachtal Card, you also have plenty of opportunities to explore... the surrounding area for free. We were able to use buses and mountain railways at no cost, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
