For dogs only the small dog beach

We (2 people with dog) stayed at the Klausenhorn campsite together with our parents-in-law (without dog). We had specially booked a pitch where dogs are allowed. The parents-in-law had a normal pitch without a dog. In the morning we met for breakfast at the parents-in-law's - completely normal, we thought. But suddenly the employee who was mowing the lawn told us in a very unfriendly tone that we "had no business here with a dog" and were not allowed to visit our parents-in-law. We found this to be completely excessive and inappropriate in this form - a friendly note would have done the trick. Especially as all the neighbors liked our dog and couldn't understand the behavior either. Unfortunately, the reception was also less than hospitable in this matter. Mr. S. told us that if we visited the parents-in-law's pitch again with our dog, we would be "expelled from the pitch immediately", as they would make use of their domestic authority in this case. We found this kind of behavior disrespectful and inappropriate. I can't comment on the food at the restaurant/kiosk on site. However, the evening before I wanted to ask a quick question and knocked on the window in a friendly manner, as there was still an employee inside. Unfortunately, I was turned away very curtly and unfriendly. That was a shame, because a short, polite exchange would have been enough. Overall, I am disappointed: the location and the campsite itself are beautiful, but individual employees - including the reception in this incident - unfortunately spoiled the stay with their unfriendly and threatening behavior.

There are many others, good and honest, just not those.

The lido is very suitable for children as the lake is shallow. The landscape is very beautiful and ideal for cycling. Good bus connections to Mainau and Constance. Ferry to Überlingen.

The site has too few sanitary facilities for its size. There is very little gastronomy nearby, the restaurants I think are in Constance or Überlingen. Unfortunately, the last ferry leaves Überlingen at 17.45 and returns to Wallhausen, which is not ideal if you want to eat out in the evening. For me as a dog owner the place is not suitable because there is no possibility to swim and romp with my dog (who is an absolute water rat) in the lake. Dogs are allowed on the site but otherwise not really welcome.

The place looks very structured and clean. The operator at the reception was very friendly. The location is ideal for excursions and with the Lake Constance guest card and the bus stop about 400 meters away, e.g. to Constance. Direct access to the lido is ideal for cooling off in the lake. The bread roll service and the barbecue bar for small snacks round off your stay.

Contrary to many negative reviews, we were unable to confirm many things. The fact that there are spiders and flies in the toilets is not the fault of the operator. The cleanliness of the toilets is up to each individual how they leave the toilet. They are cleaned and the showers are also spotless. The only critical comment would be that you have to pay for the showers in the form of shower coins (EUR 1 for 3 minutes). However, this is also justified from an environmental point of view, as this is the only way to save the precious commodity "water".

The location on the lake. The cycle path is directly adjacent. You are quickly in Constance, Wallhausen or Dingelsdorf.

Because of the lunch break, you can sometimes wait a long time in front of the barrier. Unfortunately, this is still the case in some places and, in my opinion, no longer up to date

Very nice beach on a great lake. A colorful mix of guests with lots of friendly children, fewer show-off castles of permanent campers than in the past. Nice clean sanitary facilities.

Shower stamp became twice as expensive! 70 ct is also more than 50 ct. You can't spend 50 ct on extra energy costs in 4 minutes. No more fresh bread rolls from the Kopp bakery in Dettingen. No coffee beans in the new kiosk (24€ deterrent price for 1 kg of coffee)

There is only the location - that's it!

Adequate sanitary facilities

High fence with barbed wire around the site, no child can go directly into the lido, always only around the outside, therefore air mattresses, SUP's etc are always lifted over the fence, panoramic view (paid extra) only when standing, unfriendly lady at reception. This lady really has the wrong job.
