Lack of security, rules, protection
Not coming back
I don't recommend it. I was there for two days and there was a group there all night making noise, singing and listening to music, we called the reception several times no one answered at 3am the group started to take the cars out of the place and put them in others we called the reception again and... nothing then they took the other car they knocked down the wall we called another number of the park the person in charge answered she was 40km away she was going to meet there in the meantime another of the group took the car and ran over a tent the lady who was there was not there. the lady who was inside didn't get hit because she saw the lights and started screaming. We went to her aid. The park's timekeeper turned up and the gnr showed up. We packed up and left. The group who hit the tent was let out of the park by the person in charge. The others stayed there until they were expelled. At that moment we realized that we were locked in the park in case something serious happened or a fire broke out, and there was no one available to open the gates to let us out. The caretaker sleeps like hell and won't even give up his phone, and the person in charge is 40km away, which is terrible and will never happen again without any security.

- Flat, shady pitches - Close to Tomar
Quietly located campsite with mostly very flat, shady pitches
We mainly came to this campsite because of its proximity to the World Heritage city of Tomar (approx. 15 km). It is remotely located above the dam wall of a very large reservoir. Access is good despite the mountainous landscape. The campsite is situated on very steep terrain and is therefore terraced... - in some places very high retaining walls have been built. The pitches for caravans/mobile homes are well laid out and reasonably sized. They are very level. Sanitary facilities are available in sufficient numbers. During our stay, only the sanitary block for men was open. The sanitary facilities are not the newest. But everything worked. Hot water came after a reasonable wait. The shower cubicles are small but adequate. The hand wash basins are in a communal washroom and not all have a plug socket. The operators were very friendly. However, communication was very difficult because they only speak "a little" French and we don't speak Portuguese.
