Level throughout, the … siting of vans is straightforward and the new owners have restricted total numbers to 49 pitches (approval has been given for over 100) ; this generous approach is typical of the young couple who strive to preserve the calm of the locality. Caravans, campervans and tents are all welcome here with ample space in the open or beneath the shade of the many trees. The village of La Chapelle d'Angillon is the birth place of Alain-Fournier, author of the classic romantic novel "Le Grande Meaulnes" set in this locality. It is dominated by its Chateau (with an 11th century keep) which overlooks the great lake with areas allocated for sailing and radio controlled boats; the chateau is famous for its annual 'grande fete medieval'.
