"The other way to camp on Fehmarn. - Mrs. and Mr. Hinz welcome you. Small campsite behind the dyke, approx. 650m long, there is only one row, hence the first one. A stand of trees behind, the dyke and the Baltic Sea in front. From the motorhome you can look over the dyke to the sea. If you are far back, you should be good on foot or better still have a bike with you to get to the sanitary building quickly. Sanitary facilities at the entrance and in the middle of the site. An older facility at the entrance and a newer one in the middle. The latter is very well organized with large showers. Stairs are installed at some intervals for the transition to the beach. Unfortunately, there is no access for bicycles to the dyke path at the end of the site. If you want to cycle in an easterly direction, you first have to cycle 650m to the west and then onto the dyke path to the east. This is better organized at the Niobe-Platz next door. There is a restaurant, Schnitzelhaus at the entrance to the square. Further restaurants at the neighboring pitches approx. 2.5 km away. Shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity are limited, best in Burg, approx. 13km away. The power supply in the area of the last pitches is inadequate. I had to realize that the battery of my e-bike was no longer charged. At first I thought it was a defect in the charging system. When my fridge then displayed a fault, I started to think about it. After switching to self-supply via a converter, my appliances worked perfectly. The voltage I measured in the power grid was an incredible 187 volts. Presumably due to a large number of high consumers on the forecourts. After some of the campers left, things returned to normal. The operator immediately organized an electrical company to check the situation. According to the operator, a remedy is to be found.

"Familiar, friendly, quiet, natural-everything you need is there - It was our first time here and we were thrilled. Narrow, loosely wooded - so slightly shaded - strip of pitches without superfluous frills - wonderful. Washrooms bright and clean, shower token system somewhat antiquated (but can be sold back), water + electricity on site (€4.50 flat rate/day). Groundsman and very nice and personal operator check on things several times a day, therefore quiet without evening or night-time stress. Easy access, firm meadow surface, somewhat sloping in places, so leveling necessary. Huge beach, but pebbly. Cycle path on the dyke in front of the nose. Organic food store 15 minutes away by bike, food/rolls/camping store on the neighboring giant Belt-Camping campsite, "Schnitzelhaus" on site with simple food and somewhat lackluster service, All in all, a real recommendation for all camping enthusiasts (including those with dogs) who tend to avoid large "plastic glamping" sites.

"Quiet location Good price - Been here at the end of August 22. Pitches top, location top, groundsman top, pitch operator top Ms. pitch operator -6 Disaster. Telephone contact mediocre. Attention there are 2 wash houses A new one in the middle of the square which is good. An old one at the registration which is from the 19th century. Children's playground in the middle of the site is a disaster, but the price/performance ratio is good. Arrive and spend the rest on the beach. Never return to the registration otherwise the vacation is over. If you eat in the Schnitzel Haus you get the best food almost too good for the prices. Watch out for the waitress, the boss has it all. As always, make your own experience at this point

"Almost perfect for us - It was an almost perfect vacation for us this summer at Camping am Deich. The owner, Mr. Hinz, is a super nice guy who takes a lot of time for his guests. We had a quick chat with almost everyone every day. We felt very comfortable. The location of the campsite is great. Right behind the dyke with all the possibilities offered by the sea, the beach and the cycle paths. The infrastructure of the site is kept to a minimum. The wash house at the entrance to the site is very dated. In contrast, the rear one is very new and very modern. Fehrmarn itself is great anyway - there is so much to see, discover and visit. The only thing that bothered us were the mosquitoes, which always came when the evening wind wasn't so strong. Then we had to retreat into the caravan, otherwise we would have been eaten.

"Rustic campsite in a prime location - "Camping on the dyke" is absolutely apt here, the site stretches along a path with trees on one side and the dyke on the other - the only way to get closer to the water is to choose a site on the side of the dyke facing the water, which unfortunately means you have to do without trees and shrubs completely. This one is just great, camping in the forest behind the dyke, so to speak. The welcome is friendly, the facilities are pleasantly minimalist and apart from a bread roll service (pre-order in the evening) and a "Schnitzelhaus" on site, there is nothing but peace and quiet and relaxation here. In the evening, the manager walks around the entire site, addresses everyone by name who is sitting in front of their caravan for a little chat and checks that everything is satisfactory - very pleasant. The only downside: the sanitary facilities. 2 (!) showers for the entire site, albeit a small one, is rather few. In addition, everything is very outdated and should be renovated. Everything is also always locked: the entrance door, the doors to the toilets, the doors to the washbasins, the showers, ... You go to the toilet with a total of 4 keys. Well, this is certainly the only effective measure to prevent day visitors from the beach from using the facilities permanently, but it's still not nice. A real nature campsite like this certainly doesn't need to be fancy-pants, but the wash house is really borderline

"A stone's throw from the Baltic Sea, pure relaxation! - Wonderful location, Baltic Sea in front of you, freshwater lake behind you. Beautiful pitches partly under old pine trees. Sanitary facilities partly renovated to a top standard, partly still older but clean. Very friendly operators. Just as suitable for water sports enthusiasts as for those seeking peace and quiet. Great for surf anglers and surfers. We have been coming for years, for us THE campsite on Fehmarn.
