There is a small,... rather inconspicuous restaurant right next to the pitch which is absolutely recommendable in terms of price and taste.
We were there with a 6m panel van and it was our first time traveling with a camper van. Maybe we don't have a professional view of pitches yet, but these were our impressions and we would definitely go there again.
Großenbrode itself is rather quiet and it seems that tourism there is still in its infancy.
(Perhaps "fortunately") There are a few restaurants and cafés on the promenade. So you don't have to starve. The only drawback for us: there is no officially designated dog beach.

Showers are available. They are simple and functional. There are even places with hairdryers and a dressing table for the... ladies. There are two toilets for women and two for men. Washbasins could be available. There is only one next to the toilet in the cabin. Some men took the opportunity to shave in the ladies' toilet, no doubt due to the lack of washbasins. This caused a traffic jam with the ladies in the morning. I didn't think it was a big deal because you have everything in the motorhome. It's a pitch. If you want more service, you can use the sanitary building on the campsite.
A supermarket and bakery are a 5-minute walk away. There is a nice restaurant with delicious Indian food right next to the site.
Two of us ate and drank for 34 euros.
The beach is a 5-minute walk away.
There are lots of little shops and restaurants, stores and infrastructure.
It's great for cycling. Heiligenhafen is 9 km away. We did a nice round trip of 29 km.
Overall, it was very nice on the pitch. Everything was well-kept and clean. Everything you need is available. You get a very quick response to inquiries.
The pitches are big enough to extend an awning.
We felt very comfortable.

As mentioned, we would at least like to have a place to rest on the way to the beach for a short break. The site is very well maintained and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a great vacation. The site doesn't have its own supermarket or kiosk, but that's not necessary as you can find all the stores and restaurants in the... immediate vicinity. Großenbrode offers many nice events for young and old and afterwards you come back "home" to the campsite. The whole family does everything with a lot of heart, are always very friendly, helpful and uncomplicated. Over the winter months a lot is done to... maintain, improve and modernize everything.
