A lot of noise
A two-week vacation at a campground.
Since 2018, we’ve been taking vacations at the campground from time to time—sometimes in the spring and fall of the same year. All of this just goes to show that we enjoy it there.
This year, we felt like we were vacationing on a construction site. Before 8:00 a.m., a worker started sanding the electrical... boxes with a sander. On top of that, he had his radio turned up so loud that it felt like we were in a nightclub. The icing on the cake, however, was the hours-long use of various construction machines to transport dirt and sidewalk slabs from permanent sites. At times, these very loud machines were moved along the main paths every five minutes. Since the campground closes at the end of October, they could have done this earthwork then! However, the quiet hours were strictly observed, although some campers (only vacationers) did not adhere to them.

The proximity to the beach Pitches quite large and flat
Minusuri
5 min. showers 1 € no playground on the pitch
A place that is more suitable for seniors
This site is only a 5 minute walk from the beach.
Unfortunately, the promenade is characterized by vacancies, which is not the campsite's fault. The place itself is clean and well maintained. The sanitary buildings are always clean unfortunately the showers cost 1 € for 5 min which can be bought with... coins at the reception. There is a dog walk where the four-legged friends should also go to pee and make big, which you can understand. But you can't always prevent the wet fur from lifting its leg on a bush or lamppost. Unfortunately there is no playground on the campsite. In general, it is a well-kept campsite that is more suitable for seniors or couples without children and dogs.

Super nice reception Electricity and water included. Sanitary clean, showers for a euro with absolutely sufficient time

we can't think of anything
Tip-top for us
Clean motorhome pitch with enough space for every vehicle.
Registration uncomplicated and very nice.
31€ per night, incl. electricity, water, dog and visitor's tax.
Sanitary clean and tidy, shower 1€ (ca.5min) with start/stop.
Gray and fecal water place with enough space to maneuver.
There is a small,... rather inconspicuous restaurant right next to the pitch which is absolutely recommendable in terms of price and taste.
We were there with a 6m panel van and it was our first time traveling with a camper van. Maybe we don't have a professional view of pitches yet, but these were our impressions and we would definitely go there again.
Großenbrode itself is rather quiet and it seems that tourism there is still in its infancy.
(Perhaps "fortunately") There are a few restaurants and cafés on the promenade. So you don't have to starve. The only drawback for us: there is no officially designated dog beach.
Otherwise, you can be in Heiligenhafen or Fehmarn in no time at all.

Washbasin in the sanitary building could be there
Slow down and relax
The booking was uncomplicated and you could arrive relaxed, which is very important for us if you are still working and don't want to drive from one pitch to another that is full. Showers are available. They are simple and functional. There are even places with hairdryers and a dressing table for the... ladies. There are two toilets for women and two for men. Washbasins could be available. There is only one next to the toilet in the cabin. Some men took the opportunity to shave in the ladies' toilet, no doubt due to the lack of washbasins. This caused a traffic jam with the ladies in the morning. I didn't think it was a big deal because you have everything in the motorhome. It's a pitch. If you want more service, you can use the sanitary building on the campsite.
A supermarket and bakery are a 5-minute walk away. There is a nice restaurant with delicious Indian food right next to the site.
Two of us ate and drank for 34 euros.
The beach is a 5-minute walk away.
There are lots of little shops and restaurants, stores and infrastructure.
It's great for cycling. Heiligenhafen is 9 km away. We did a nice round trip of 29 km.
Overall, it was very nice on the pitch. Everything was well-kept and clean. Everything you need is available. You get a very quick response to inquiries.
The pitches are big enough to extend an awning.
We felt very comfortable.
Thank you for the lovely stay.

It would have been helpful if I had information about the closed Fehrmamannsbrücke bridge on arrival, but that's complaining on a high level I find using the washing machine (app) too complicated if you are on site for a long time

There should be benches on the square and on the way to the beach where you can take a short break.
Always recommendable!
We have been coming back to this campsite again and again since 2010, initially for one week and for the last 3 years for two weeks once a year with our motorhome.
As mentioned, we would at least like to have a place to rest on the way to the beach for a short break. A place to buy bread on the campsite or in the immediate vicinity would be a great advantage, especially for non-cyclists!

Beautiful place for family time
We feel very well looked after here, everyone is very friendly. The site is very well maintained and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a great vacation. The site doesn't have its own supermarket or kiosk, but that's not necessary as you can find all the stores and restaurants in the... immediate vicinity. Großenbrode offers many nice events for young and old and afterwards you come back "home" to the campsite. We feel very comfortable here, keep it up!

Always happy camping in Großenbrode
We have been permanent campers on this site since 2014 and feel very much at home with the Berger family. The young operators are always friendly and the staff are always on top form and helpful. What the young people have put together in just one year is really great !!! The sanitary blocks and the grounds are very well maintained.
