Very friendly staff, great restaurant, clean restrooms. Great for dog owners. Great location for an overnight stay when visiting the Karl May Festival.
Minusuri
Unpaved paths, so there’s a lot of dust when the weather is dry. No shelves in the showers; no hygiene bins in the women’s restrooms. Outdated practice of closing the gates at lunchtime. Due to the layout of the campsites, you constantly have to drive over the power cables in some areas.
A good campground with a few minor issues
You can live with the minor flaws.
The short vacation was still very enjoyable.

Proximity to Bad Segeberg and Lübeck

Everything a bit chaotic due to change of tenant.
CP under reconstruction
Due to a change of tenant, things are a bit chaotic at the moment. The plots have not yet been allocated, so nobody knows exactly where they are and where they should be. The swimming pool is being renovated. A wash house still needs to be renovated (washing up is only possible outside)
The restaurant... on site is open.
We don't want to do the site an injustice. It should have been closed and renovated properly, but there are simply a lot of permanent campers and that's why the site remains open. Let's give them a chance to improve.
In any case, the staff are very nice.

Restaurant great 👍 super nice conditions food tasted excellent.
Minusuri
The hygienic conditions are not acceptable for a 4 star campsite. The sanitary facilities moldy partly not usable, the toilets full of feces and the days despite complaint at the reception remained the dirt and feces. The washing machines full of mold in the insert compartments and full of dog hair
Campsite not recommended
The campsite is not recommended, we canceled our vacation because the hygiene was not acceptable with our children

Got a place at short notice on Saturday afternoon - they are flexible. Friendly staff Restaurant inexpensive and delicious

Spontaneously got a place, nice place, delicious restaurant
After we were unable to stay at a place nearby despite having been promised, we called here on Saturday at 4 pm to see if we could stay for one night. "Sure, come here, no problem"

The check-in was completed in a few minutes by a very friendly member of staff and ended with an explanation of which area... of the unparceled pitch we could choose as we wished.

We found what we were looking for and got chatting to the nice neighbors before we unhitched :-)

After setting up, we spontaneously went to the campsite's own restaurant "Klüth-Stuuv", which offers German and Croatian cuisine of solid quality at good prices. While we were eating, a small band played, obviously there was also entertainment.
We had booked the entertainment at Kalkberg, so I can't say anything about the music.

The check-out was just as friendly as the arrival - we picked up sandwiches in the "little store" on the way out. They are freshly filled to order.

We'll be back - next year when the Kalkberg calls us. Then we want to stay at least 2 nights - that should say it all.

Camping with a special scent
If you like it quiet, you are in good hands here. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
However, what is not at all good is the special smell that greets you as soon as you drive along the road to the campsite. There are probably ventilation pipes for waste water and it smells terribly of sewage.... It gets even worse when the wind is unfavorable and you get the smell wafting around your nose while eating. No thanks, we don't have to have that again.

The restaurant was good, the food was fine.

Wash house closed, playground in very poor condition, felt like there were more dogs than campers on the site (constant barking, people shitting right in front of the awning), lots of rabbits and their "droppings", poor signage for new arrivals,
Worst campsite of my camper time
Unfortunately NOT recommended from our point of view. We had the impression that the welfare of the dogs was more important here than the relaxation of the (dogless) campers. We also had two dogs (one after the other), but we did not let our dogs shi....... in front of other caravans. Furthermore, the... large wash house had no hot water (possibly a cost-cutting measure). The playground was in very poor condition. The plus point was the good food in the restaurant.

Condition and cleanliness of the wash house No parceled out spaces
Nice place, sanitary has potential for improvement
We stayed at the site for a few nights in June.
Before our visit, we had noticed a review on camping.info from August 2017. We found something comparable:

The condition of the wash house on the meadow indicates a lack of basic cleaning. The entrance doors, windows and card reader at the entrance to... the wash house were very dirty.
During our stay, we were unable to find any cleaning of the carpet in the entrance or of the dishwashing sinks and the associated waste garbage can. It was so dirty and overflowing that you didn't want to/couldn't use it.

Most of the taps and drains were rusty, as was the waste garbage can for hand paper.

About the pitch: The pitches were not parceled out, the meadow had many supply points with electricity, water and sewage facilities. Loose stand of very large trees. There were sunny and shady spots, very pleasant.

The access road on the pitch was uneven and had many tripping hazards.

The campsite is situated between two lakes. We couldn't see a pitch with a lake view.

All in all, the campsite has potential, but it is not fully utilized.

Unfortunately, the garbage station is only open from 9-10 am, but there will certainly be a reason for this.
Whitsun weekend
We were very pleasantly surprised, as many places were fully booked at Whitsun, we came across the Klüthsee by chance.
Booking was easy and uncomplicated and dogs are also welcome there.
The arrival and check-in went smoothly, due to Corona there was no free choice of pitch but they tried to accommodate... our wishes. The
The sanitary facilities were limited but clean and most guests kept to them.
In the evening it was surprisingly quiet on the pitch.
Price/performance is more than okay.
All in all, a nice and successful weekend on the site.

Not located directly on the lake and too few shady trees
Large space with plenty of room for the individual camper (Womo or caravan)
Good and friendly atmosphere. The Karl May Festival in Segeberg can be easily reached on foot or by bike via a beautiful hiking trail along the western shore of the lake. The price-performance ratio is good, and the reception is friendly and courteous (in contrast to the See-Camping in Bad Segeberg).

Very nice there
Were unfortunately only 2 nights on this place, if I had known what to expect on the next one I would have stayed there, because we liked it very much. Pitch on the lake view part great, you were allowed to stand where you wanted!!! The sanitary facilities on the main square were always very tidy and... always clean!!! Bread roll service and the small bistro were very good and if that's not enough for you there is a restaurant down by the lake where we also ate very well!!! Shopping facilities are a few kilometers away. Very good area for cycling, along the lake to Bad Segeberg (nice place) about 20min. To Timmendorf to the Baltic Sea is also only 36km. Acsi also on the holidays (where else is that?) Will definitely come back!!!!

Good proximity to the Karl May Games and very quiet location. Nice reception....Man makes an effort!

Hygiene and ambience in the wash houses.
Ok for a short stay.
The site has no predetermined pitches.....Freie Wiese and where there is space you can stand. If you like that, that's ok. Otherwise a very quiet campsite. Now to the negative.... Sorry....but garbage disposal from 09-10 h and 16 - 16:45 h daily is not possible!!! I am timelessly happy on vacation and... then something like this! The sanitary facilities are cleaned at 8 am.....häääääää....then when everyone goes to the morning toilet!!! Shake your head!!! And now we come to the "cleaning" of the washhouse entrances! Before cleaning is apparently after cleaning. The carpet in the entrance area is still covered in dirt....The toilet doors should also be looked at from the inside and there are still the same dead flies on the shelves. In short....A place with potential that is far from exhausted!

Răspuns de la KlüthseeCamp 19 August 2017
Hello,

We have 4 wash houses. Unfortunately, one of the wash houses is always used during the "morning toilet". The cleaning staff do their best to keep everything clean, even when the sun is shining brightly, which is unfortunately difficult with the dirt-trapping mat.

The garbage collection times... are really unfortunate. However, there is another recycling center that opens immediately afterwards. Unfortunately, garbage that is not properly separated is not collected by our local recycling center. We would also find "open" waste centers much easier and more practical. But unfortunately it doesn't work.

We will definitely take up the other suggestions.

Thank you very much.

Pleasant stay
We stayed there for one night with our motorhome at the beginning of June. We were delighted with the very nice and friendly welcome. Thanks to the free choice of pitches, we were able to choose a nice spot. It had been raining cats and dogs, but the meadow pitch was very easy to drive on. Great. The sanitary facilities were well cleaned at all times. Many thanks for that.
