- Ron M.July 2024PlusuriDid I not have anyMinusuriVery muchNot recommendedATTENTION!
After an extensive and strenuous cycle tour of almost 100 kilometers yesterday, Monday, I was looking forward to arriving at the beautifully advertised campsite in Kriebstein. But after just a few moments, the first signs of disillusionment became apparent: Camping fees previously agreed on... the phone did not match the actual price. But that was the least of my worries considering what was still waiting for me.
When I arrived at the campsite assigned to me, I unfortunately realized that it was completely unsuitable for camping, as it was uneven, hilly and basically uninviting.
When I had to visit the sanitary facilities, I was in for another shock: outdated, unkempt and definitely in need of renovation. (You can get your own impression from the pictures I have attached)
The biggest problem in my opinion, however, are the many dilapidated and dilapidated bungalows, which can quickly become a danger for children and dogs playing. (You can also get a personal impression of this in the attached pictures)
Due to the many unforeseeable "challenges", I decided to leave this place immediately that same evening.
The very next morning I contacted the operator of the campsite by telephone to inform him of my departure and the reasons for it. The operator refused to refund the money (despite my concession and my willingness to charge for one night).
In summary, I would never have to visit this campsite again and would not recommend it to others.Tradus automat. - Karl Heinz O.July 2024Plusuri---Minusuri---Then don't!If you never get anyone on the phone for several days on different numbers, there is probably no interest in having us as guests.
We knew the place from the old days and went there once, but heavens, you can't offer that to anyone today! It looks like it did in '75! When we see the price list, it at least shows a healthy ego.Tradus automat. - Gerd M.June 2023PlusuriWe were almost always alone on the site (except for permanent campers)MinusuriEverything except the staff, who were very pleasantCampsite KriebsteinA beautifully located campsite right next to the Kriebstein dam is promoted by the campsite operator through surrounding excursion destinations and activities. Own investments on the site are far from it. The staff is the victim and bruiser for criticism and here the registration is still filled out... by hand, there is no PC. No contact person on site at the weekend. For 35 euros a night (2 people, dog caravan, car without electricity - comes from our solar system - you don't have to) you experience the CAMPINGALBTRAUM here. 75% price increase compared to 2022. We couldn't even top this price on the previously visited vacation island of Usedom. No bread rolls, no newspaper, restaurant closed, access road open day and night. No wonder that the place, if someone arrives, belongs to you alone (except for the permanent campers who are hardly there during the week anyway).
Unfortunately it is not possible to attach pictures here. Link https://g.co/kgs/aXSp11Tradus automat. - Thomas K.May 2022PlusuriThe location is beautifulMinusuriFree access to the dam hardly possible. No bathing area. Price performance no longer match, as the place is completely outdated.Used to be betterWe have been going to this course regularly for the last ten years. In all that time, nothing has really changed on the site.
Now they are trying to jump on the current camping boom and focus on permanent campers. Unfortunately, regular guests are being completely left behind.
The prices correspond to... campsites with much better facilities and the fact that in 2022 there is still no WiFi on the site, showers from the 1970s are used and the invoice is handwritten (without VAT shown etc.) is very out of date.
In addition, ironclad rules are enforced that don't apply to everyone.
The only play area for children is a weedy football pitch. Nothing else.
Since even the last bit of shoreline at the bottom of the dam has been fenced off, there are actually only a few meters where you can freely access the water. There are no longer any sunbathing lawns or bathing spots.
During the day, the noise of the rehearsals on the lake stage can be heard over the campsite.
The site is kept clean overall. However, the generally dilapidated state of the sanitary facilities does not make this easy.Tradus automat. - Jordi L.May 2018PlusuriThe location (castle, dam, hiking trails and many other excursion destinations), the layout of the pitches, good electricity and water infrastructure,MinusuriNo playground, the toilets should be urgently renovated (the showers were ok).Nice campsite in a good locationWe spent some lovely days on this site. The location with the proximity to the castle and the dam is great! The groundsman is very relaxed and the site itself is beautifully laid out. On certain holidays, such as Ascension Day, it can get louder, otherwise it's quite quiet.Tradus automat.
- Lothar K.April 2018PlusuriGreat area, reasonably priced catering, invites you to go on excursionsMinusuriold place, a bit run down, no bread serviceIdeal local recreation areaWe stayed here for a weekend with camper friends. The whole area is a goldmine, which is not used, especially by the CP. The site is beautiful, but getting on in years. The operator has not invested anything for years. The sanitary facilities are clean, but have not changed in the last 30 years. A lot of unsightly things could be remedied with a little manual work.Tradus automat.
- Uwe D.October 2017PlusuriLocation and castle and reservoir in the immediate vicinityMinusuriToilets, showers no bread serviceToo bad for the campsiteWe don't really complain right away, but it's a shame about this campsite.why actually no bread service, is supposedly not used by the campers, really a pity because it is too far by bike to the next place with a bakery.the toilets are urgently in need of renovation and a sanitary container for showering may be known from events but not on a campsite.to the restaurant we can only say delicious food at reasonable prices.Tradus automat.
- Karl Heinz O.June 2017Plusuri-almost unbeatable price of 5,-€ per caravan/house tent -uncomplicated staffMinusuri-no bathing area within 1km radius -often loud in the evenings due to cultural eventssimple doesn't have to be bad.First of all: anyone considering this campsite should read the description carefully. Harbor, lake stage etc., everything is "nearby"! You can hear that until well after midnight ;) Otherwise, you should think about what you need. Pitch, shower (no time limit!), WC? Electricity and water connection less... than 25m away? Everything is there, but nothing more. No bread roll service, no bling-bling stuff. If that's enough for you (like me), you can set off from here on highly interesting tours around and across the dam. Important: there is NO bathing area!Tradus automat.
- Rainer P.September 2016PlusuriLots of forest and nature, good for hikers and walkers, castle and dam worth seeing nearbyMinusuriUnfortunately, not much has been changed, so probably no photos of the operator on the net, nice beer garden mostly closedQuiet place with old GDR charmWere only here for 2 days in Sept. By the way, dogs are allowed. Toilets are still in an old building with partly shaky toilets, untiled but painted. However, everything was clean. Shower is in a rental container, cabins with curtains. Restaurant was only open one day. The first Radler cold, the second... warm, perhaps already pre-tapped, food not very fresh but a little more expensive. However, there are alternative options near the campsite. After a few steps you can quickly reach the passenger boats for the dam, you can do it, but you don't have to.Tradus automat.
- Georg S.September 2015PlusuriClean, friendly staff, great location, natural and originalCamping the way we want itWe were actually on our way to the Spreewald with the Beetle and QEK caravan. But as the Beetle got too warm on the highway, we decided to change our destination to Kriebstein at short notice and didn't regret it for a minute. The campsite was just the way we like to camp, close to nature, simple and... pristine, and also spotlessly clean. Of course, there may be more modern standards nowadays, but the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and the great location are much more important. There is also a lot to do around Kriebstein, and it is not without reason that it is one of the most beautiful recreational areas in Saxony. We will certainly be driving our vintage caravan to the Kriebstein campsite again soon.Tradus automat.
- steven r.June 2013Divided place between permanent campers and vacationers.playground is totally outdated and dangerous.the place consists of a green meadow where everyone can probably do what he wants.access to the water is secured by a gate behind it is an access to the river created perfect for boating had used our inflatable boat with electric motor there.nearby is a snack bar and on the square is a restaurant.for two three days OK, the valley looks interestingTradus automat.
- Robby P.August 2012Small and beautiful! Very quiet and almost secluded campsite. Particularly suitable for people looking for peace and solitude. Located in the middle of the forest. Very friendly and helpful staff. We would love to come back!Tradus automat.
- Adolf R.June 2012Staff were nice and friendly. If you are looking for nostalgia, this is the right place, toilet facilities are from a long time ago. Everything was very old (old cisterns that did not allow water to be dosed - everything was dark, so that light was also required during the day), but the costs were generously... passed on to the campers. By recreational area we also mean something different when it comes to peace and quiet. Every day we were treated to rehearsals of the theater on the lake stage. The highlight of the whole thing was the shots that were fired. It sounded as if we were at war. (min 20 shots) This place is located at a dam but no possibility for swimming. The disposal of dirty water and the chemical toilets requires a lot of strength and healthy bones, because the stairs that lead there are oversized - much too high. Another positive thing: the site was clean, as there were hardly any campers there.Tradus automat.
- Jenny A.July 2010Nice little campsite with small cozy vacation homes, simple, small but nice and clean. Not far from the reservoir. The sanitary facilities could be better, but the money is missing like everywhere, but for us completely okay... we are camping and not in a hotel... was a nice vacation with our children... you get to know nice people very quickly here and can have a great party without anyone getting upset...Tradus automat.
