A charming little campground at an elevation of 400 meters, 35 minutes from Košice
A small, unique campground for those who love peace and quiet. Special mention for the beautiful and practical facilities. Thanks, Jana. We'll be back.

Cool camping in Slovakia or "hidden place"
We were looking for a campsite near Kosice.
Although "Sokol Kemping" had no rating here, we went there.
Jana (Slovakian) and Harry (Dutch) have been running a campsite here for 21 years that is reminiscent of the small Dutch campsites on farms or private properties.
You drive through a gate over self-laid... quarry stone paving past a quarry stone house onto the site. They have converted two old farmsteads into a campsite for their guesthouse and restaurant.
The garden consists of lovingly laid out flower and herb beds.
Free choice of pitches, in a generously laid out orchard, confuses the campers because there are no fixed pitches, but access to electricity and water at every point.
The wash house and toilet block are built in the Slovakian farmhouse style from old wood. There are seating areas with tables and benches everywhere. There is also a barbecue area for everyone to use. During our stay, a group of cyclists stayed at the guesthouse and had a barbecue with eight people in the evening.

You can enter the field directly from the campsite and set off on a hike. Our truffle nose "Charlie" found truffles under an oak tree on our morning walk about 300m from the campsite.
Harry loves nature and is very emphatic about his surroundings.
The electricity comes from the photovoltaic systems on the roof and the entire garden is watered from a rainwater cavern.

For leisure activities, there is a small round pool, boules court, table football and play equipment.

We stayed three days longer because the atmosphere and the natural excursion destinations, as well as Kosice, could be reached within half an hour.

For me, this site is one of the 50 best "Cool Camping" destinations in Europe.
