Moorcroft Campsite is probably the most beautiful and comfortable campsite in the Southern Outer Hebrides. It is conveniently located on the A865 near the small village of Carinish, where there is also a restaurant. The site is very small, extremely well-kept and offers a beautiful view of the strait,... which dries out at low tide, all the way to Benbecula. There is a nicely laid out gravel area for caravans and motorhomes and a mostly flat meadow area for tents. The site operators are busy every day maintaining the facilities, watering or mowing the grass. The sanitary facilities are housed in a heated building and are extremely well maintained, clean and of a high standard. There is a second, cozy stone cottage that houses the kitchen and washing machine. The kitchen is cozy and equipped with everything you need and with attention to detail. All in all, the entire campsite really is a place to feel at home. Despite its proximity to the road, the campsite is also very quiet. The "reception" is located in the campsite operators' house, on the right-hand side of the small road leading to the campsite. All the comfort naturally comes at a high price (see pictures for price list). Only cash payment possible.
