Profil
For true lovers of nature, space and tranquility Camping La Motte is situated close to the village of Montguyon in the extreme south of the Charente-Maritime where the departments of Charente, Gironde and Dordogne meet. This region is known as … the Haute-Saintonge, is renowned for its beautiful, rolling landscapes and has a very interesting heritage. Opposite the sanitary building the existing service area for campervans has been adapted to contemporary standards. Its use is of course free of charge if you pass the night on the campsite. A new deposit table for chemical toilets has been installed under the canopy at the back of the sanitary building. In 2012 the existing 2,5 acres "aire naturelle" with 20 pitches was expanded to an 8 acres natural campsite with 45 pitches. All now have electricity (10 or 16amp) and sizes vary from 1600ft² to 2200ft². There is choice between shady and sunny, but anyhow you will have tranquility during your well earned holidays. We have chosen to limit the new classification to one star, but if you want more you only have to look up at night. At La Motte the emphasis is on relaxation, not so much on entertainment. The 15 mobile-homes each have between 2700ft² and 3200ft² private space. 10 of them overlook the lake and the other 5 are situated behind the "boulodrome" adjacent to the camping pitches. Each mobile-home has its own paved parking. Again we have tried to leave nature untouched but some hedges, trees and bushes will be planted to ensure your privacy even better. If your holiday destination is not the Haute-Saintonge or Charente-Maritime but further south, camping La Motte may still be a good choice to spend the night. The campsite is only 7 miles off the big Route National 10, the tollfree dual carriageway between Poitiers and Bordeaux.
