The complex has the charm of the seventies, and nothing has been done since then.

I agree with the previous speaker. The pitch is run down and nothing is being renewed. The "groundsman" (owner?) was very unfriendly. There are full bin bags everywhere. I witnessed how "gypsies" (original words of the groundsman) were expelled outside the actual pitch.

Located directly on the route of the Rhön Cycle Marathon

A bit run down. There is a supermarket in Hosenfeld but no restaurant (apart from a rather shabby pizzeria)
Good location for the Rhön Cycle Marathon
I was there for the Rhön Cycle Marathon on Whit Sunday. The course is right on the route, i.e. about 15 km from the start/finish. The place is very simple and getting on in years, nothing is being renewed. Very friendly reception, reservation also worked very well. Sanitary facilities in order, only... two showers for the men, a third is broken and the sign "defective" looks like it has been there for years. WLAN in the reception area, but didn't work for me. There was virtually no cell phone reception on the pitch. Practical for people with children: The swimming pool is right next door. Otherwise mainly permanent campers, partly run-down huts. But you can stay here for 1-2 nights.
