You will pass a farm that has a milk filling station and also sells other products.
In the surrounding area, you can go on beautiful hikes through the Volcanic Eifel.
The access roads to the pitches are sometimes narrow.... If you have a large caravan, there is no room for your car. The site is terraced. The sanitary building is centrally located, with rental cabins in the other half of the site.
The site was very quiet at the end of September, although there were other caravans and motorhomes there, but not everyone was there.
Dogs are allowed on some of the pitches.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel September 14, 2023Update on reception:
We can receive D1+D2, although not on all pitches.
WLAN reception is also available on some of the pitches (now free of charge).
Unfortunately, O2/Telefonica is still barely receivable.Traduzido automaticamente. - Sandra L.May 2020PositivosRestNegativosAn outdated campsite Impersonal welcome Hardly any W-LAN receptionAn ageing natural squareWe have never been greeted like this at a campsite before. We had to ring the bell at reception and were asked to choose our pitch from the list, fill in a form and then we could move into our pitch. We only saw a member of staff when we paid and checked out.
The simple pitch is laid out in terraces,... the pitches are sometimes very narrow, we had no more space for our car.
Due to Corona, only a few toilets were open, the open ones are very outdated, but were clean. Showers were closed.
There is a small, simple playground for the children.

Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel July 11, 2018Hello Mr. van de Kampe

There is an alternative supply/disposal point at the mobile home site at the entrance.
We only have four permanent campers and the path is clearly respected in their area. If there are any problems with access / badly parked cars, etc., we would be grateful for information as soon as possible so that we can help.

Jan MoritzTraduzido automaticamente. - Marion und Markus K.May 2017Positivos- Pure nature and a good starting point for excursions and hikes. - New wash house with private flair - great for children and youth groupsNegativos- Not for people looking for absolute peace and quietBeautiful place surrounded by nature - perfect for children's groupsTerraced, very well-kept campsite. Good starting point for slightly challenging hikes. Trier, Bitburg, Gerolstein etc. are within easy reach. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. However, the older wash houses are hardly heated, which would have been nice in May. For one euro/use there... is the possibility to use a new shower cubicle with toilet - highly recommended! The main site is a youth cabin village with a large adventure playground - something you should be aware of if you want to spend your vacation here. The operators are very friendly and helpful. All in all, a clear recommendation!Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel July 3, 2017Hello Kunz family and thank you very much.
I will check and optimize the flow temperature of the heating system again in the autumn.

Jan MoritzTraduzido automaticamente. - Robert B.August 2016PositivosLocation in the Vulkaneifel. Close to the village of ManderscheidNegativosThe reservation system could be improved.Great campsite in the Volcanic EifelWe were there on the last weekend of August 2016 to ride our bikes. It was the hottest weekend of the year. So the shady pitch was very welcome. I knew the campsite from the Cool Camping guide and was not disappointed - i.e. no permanent campers, great location. The sanitary facilities are "basic", but I thought that was ok. And it's true that there aren't many showers, but I showered "anti-cyclically" after cycling, so that's not a problem.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel September 13, 2016Thank you very much, especially for the tip about the showers. The reservation system has worked best for us in its current form. We want to keep it as simple and free of charge as possible for our guests.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Uwe S.August 2016PositivosVery clean and spacious site in great surroundings.NegativosFood supply could be improved.Beautiful vacation destination!A clean, largely natural site with a youth village, so the noise level is a little higher, but bearable... Exemplary sanitary facilities and washing-up facilities. Beautiful excursion destinations also allow for a bad weather vacation, as we experienced, but unfortunately our pitch became increasingly muddy, but that's camping too. We can recommend the site.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel August 8, 2016Hello and thank you for your visit & review. On the subject of food: what can you recommend (e.g. improve supply/availability?)Traduzido automaticamente.
- Jens P.July 2016PositivosNatural site with lots of trees and bushes. Nice staff. Beautiful surroundings with hiking and cycling opportunities.NegativosDifficult paths for guests with walking disabilities.Close to nature, simple but beautifulWe only stayed here for two nights. The pitch was fine, the descent down the plank staircase to the sanitary building was not a problem for us. However, if I needed a walking frame, I would probably have difficulties. There is a free shower cubicle in the sanitary building (area for adults), apart from... this the room was clean. Of course, cleanliness always depends on the previous guest. But the next morning there were still the same traces of dirt. Perhaps we caught an unfavorable time - there was probably no supervisor for the children, who were having water fights on the other side and in the dishwashing area. We therefore gave our grandchildren the key for the adult area, as they didn't dare go to the other side, it was too dirty there and the room was under water. Obviously someone did intervene because everything was fine the following day. My attempts to use the WLAN were in vain. There was also no reception in the room next to reception or at the back of the house. It's a good thing I'm not an addict and I don't think it's a bad thing that they want to offer young people something other than all-day Facebook visits. But then the campsite description shouldn't say that Wi-Fi is available here. The staff at reception were very friendly and it wasn't a problem that we had our dog with us. And the center of Manderscheid is not far away, so it's not a problem that the kiosk doesn't have a wide range of supermarkets. In view of the fact that there are mainly youth groups here, I found the offer very appropriate. Thank you very much for the lovely stay!Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel August 14, 2016Hello and thank you. In July we had a wifi router failure and improvised a bit - hence the poor reception. In the meantime, the new routers have been installed and reception at the registration desk and now also at some of the pitches is possible (but now for €1 per day).
If things get wild with a group, we are always grateful for a tip so that things don't get out of hand.
Best regards Jan MoritzTraduzido automaticamente. - Stefan K.May 2016PositivosQuiet, great place between trees, bushes and meadows. Terraced pitches in a valley surrounded by greenery. Very close to nature. Top!NegativosYouth groups sometimes make it a bit turbulent. Paths for the disabled sometimes difficult (stairs to the sanitary facilities and reception)"Simple camping" Gladly again! :-)Beautiful campsite in pristine nature. A model site for our Facebook group "Einfach-Camping" All those who are looking for peace and quiet and don't necessarily need luxury are in the right place here! However, it can get a bit more turbulent on the lower pitches due to the youth groups. However, this... is hardly noticeable on the outer pitches... The site is terraced across a dry valley. A large part of the area is overgrown with trees and bushes... There is only green everywhere... Toilets were always clean despite full occupancy and the operators were always friendly. However, you shouldn't expect luxury, but rather pure nature! Paths are still naturally green and sometimes it is still nice and dark at night without lamps... However, you should be good on foot, as you have to walk through the valley to the sanitary building and reception... Depending on the pitch, this includes a rustic railroad sleeper staircase... or even mountainous paths... We really liked the place and we will certainly come back! As for the sanitary facilities. There is 1 central wash house which is accessible via a key... There is 1 free shower in each... In addition, however, there is a separate washroom in and 4 brand new modern, heated sanitary cabins, each with toilet, shower and washbasin, which you can use for €1 each. A great thing!Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel August 8, 2016Thank you very much. In winter we had created a path to avoid the stairs (or drive around them), but the path is quite long. Maybe we can improve the stairs a bit.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Johannes E.August 2015PositivosClean wash house, individual cabins, play areas everywhere,Negativos1 central wash house, stairs without a reasonable path for pushchairs/back carts Partially distant water points.Great place Great locationHello Hello I would like to introduce a campsite (short-term camping or seasonal camping) that almost fits into the price category up to 30 euros. Naturcamping Vulkaneifel - Manderscheid http://www.naturcamping-vulkaneifel.de/de/ The Naturcamping Vulkaneifel with youth cabin village is located in the... climatic health resort of Manderscheid. The location is in a beautiful valley on the edge of a small forest. The distance to the town center of Manderscheid is about 1 km. This is a very beautifully situated site with plots, very quiet. It is partly divided into terraces At the place is (2015) no tourist tax due. (charged in the price) However, there is a spa card with discounts in the village. The pitches are divided into several categories: - Normal pitch - Large pitch (the pitches circled on the pitch map). - Womo pitch - Tent pitches. - Youth hut village. There is a centrally located wash house. The wash house is divided into 2 areas. One area is for the youth cabin village (sometimes very dirty) and the other area is for adults/campsite visitors. This area can only be opened with a key, which can be obtained from reception for a €5 deposit. There are not many showers in the adult area (only 2 for men), but no shower tokens are required. There are also 3 single wash cubicles, which cost 1 euro for a single use. There you have a shower, washbasin and WC (heated of course) via a fan heater. The sinks are outside. Due to the distance from us to the wash house and the problem with the baby carriage, we always washed up at the place. (WW thanks to Truhma Therme) The exit to the wash house from the upper terrace area (places 1 to 51) is provided with a staircase. The lane for baby carriages next to it is paved with grass pavers and very narrow. The service is friendly and courteous, but with typical traits of the Eifel people (J somewhat grumpy J). But that's normal in the Eifel. J There is electricity and water everywhere on the site. However, you have to be prepared to fetch some of it with a watering can or buckets because the water points are further away. When making a reservation, specify the pitch number, then the water tap is closer and you can fill it with a (self-brought hose) tap size ¾ inch, i.e. normal Gardena connection. There are many play opportunities for children, a large central playground, sandboxes everywhere (filled with sand). It is advisable not to take children's Sunday clothes with you, as they will get dirty in the fir trees and sand or forest floor anyway. In Manderscheid there are several bakeries, several grocery stores, Pennymarkt and Norma (in the industrial area). You can order bread rolls at the campsite. I think this is possible until 4 pm. In the evening there are chips with bockwurst at the reception. Leisure activities: - Fireplaces or barbecue areas on the campsite. - Hiking - cycle tours/mountain biking (bring your own bike) - Manderscheid upper and lower castles - gemstone cutting - Maar museum. - Pub facilities - Kurpark There are several restaurants with German cuisine and a kebab stand (Kurpark) which I cannot recommend (very dirty). Prices: (per day) from 16 years 7€ 14 to 15 years 4 € 8 to 13 years 1€ 0 to 7 years free Dog 1,5 € Pitch 70m² 7€ Pitch 90 to 120m² 9 € Electricity (flat rate) 2,5€ No shower tokens are required Tent fee: € incl tent pitch Womobil pitch 6 € With a Dcc or cci card there is a 5% discount on the total price Calculation example 1: 2 adults = 14€ 2 infants = 0€ Electricity = 2.5€ Pitch = 7€ Total = 23.5 € Calculation example 2: 3 adults/ over 16 years = 21€ 1 teenager 14 years = 4 € Pitch = 7€ Electricity = 2,5€ Total = 34,50€ Calculation example 3: 2 adults = 14€ Electricity = 2,5€ Pitch = 9€ Dog = 1,5 Total = 27,00€ This is a bit more expensive than 30 euro, if the children are bigger (but where can you get this under 30 Teuro) My recommendation: a very clean place, very quiet, for teenagers villeicht a bit boring. Ideal for children. The exception: for small children it is best to book pitches 70 to 82, as the way to the washroom is easier there. (No stairs!!) Tip: specify the length of the caravan, as you can't get everywhere with long caravans. (pitches 70 to 82) Empty the cassette toilet when getting bread rolls in town at the womo harbor, as this can be reached by car. Remember the blue plugs for electricity.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel October 22, 2015Thank you very much for your detailed review.
A few brief comments:
Our camper van site is located at the entrance - there is also an accessible disposal point there.
In winter we want to extend a path from pitch 48 to the toilets so that you can avoid the steep baby carriage track.
Blue CEE adapters can be borrowed free of charge from reception.
We hope you will visit us again when you get the chance.
Jan MoritzTraduzido automaticamente. - Veit K.August 2014PositivosGreat layout and lovely atmosphere.NegativosThe cleaning lady can be remarkably grumpy. ;-)Love this campsiteWe have been back four times after our first visit. Great terraced layout, good distances to washrooms and taps for cleaning dishes. Just love the atmosphere. Our 2.5 year old son is indeed a very happy camper there ... and so are we!
- Nico H.August 2012
- Johann (Hans) G.July 2012There were lots of youth groups on the site living in various huts. It was a hustle and bustle from 7am to 10pm, like a Sunday afternoon in a crowded outdoor pool. We only went to the center of the campsite to shower because we were afraid of being run over. Showers are scarce here. There are 2 showers... in the generally public part, an old shower in the child-free part, then there are old family showers for €1 and the four prefabricated sanitary blocks. They stand next to each other on a path in the blazing sun and also cost €1 extra. With an outside temperature of 29 degrees, it was as hot in them as in an oven. And no window! Weak lighting, even weaker ventilation, no storage space, toilet, mini washbasin and shower tray that deforms with every step. The pitch is not suitable for large vehicles because the driveway is narrow and sloping. Emptying the toilet is a challenge. The disposal is in the center in the valley below. A long walk, also via stairs. Or at the camper van site (costs extra) but also very far. We were allocated an extra large pitch which we only found out from the bill. With the extra euros for showers and waste disposal, it was the most expensive pitch on our trip. There are much better pitches in the Eifel for much less money. We wouldn't do this campsite to ourselves again. A subsequent comment: I can imagine that the site is a natural paradise for organized youth groups and/or for travellers with tents or VW buses in the low season. It was just too loud and stressful for us with a caravan when the place was packed. Then you also get annoyed more quickly about other, smaller shortcomings.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel August 3, 2012We are sorry that our campsite did not appeal to you.
Our aim is a simple, nature-loving and child-friendly, yet clean and well-kept site.
We cannot and do not want to offer upscale luxury.
As far as we know, our prices are in the middle range.Traduzido automaticamente. - Joachim M.August 2010Very nice location, ideal starting point for hikes. Nice, helpful operators. Separate areas for campers with dogs and without dogs. Sanitary facilities for camping area clean (except for unhygienic shower curtain), but not enough showers for men and women. No washing cubicles. Combination with youth... village (small wooden houses). Sanitary area can be used for the youth village, but not recommended due to heavy footfall. Lots of play facilities for children. Combination with youth village results in a certain noise level due to children playing. Not bad, but you should be aware of this. And it is quiet from 22:00. The approaches to the military airfield, probably Bitburg, are somewhat disturbing. But even here it is quiet at night. All in all, a beautiful place in the middle of nature close to the Lieserpfad (approx. 20 min walk). We will certainly go there again.Traduzido automaticamente.Respondido de Naturcamping Vulkaneifel March 24, 2011From mid-5.2011 we will finally be offering four additional single shower cubicles.
Addendum: are now ready for use.Traduzido automaticamente. - Horst V.May 2010If you are looking for "pure nature", this is the place to be, with friendly management and good service.Traduzido automaticamente.
