- Andreas und Petra S.May 2017Good base for exploring the Colorado ochre quarries near RustrelThis quietly located site with an estimated 50 pitches is divided, more or less, into two parts. The upper part, whose steep, narrow, winding access road, which is only moderately paved, is a challenge for medium-sized motorhomes and caravans, and the lower part at the reception. The pitches are allocated... and we were accommodated "downstairs". The pitches there are generously sized, each with a water tap and electricity connection. The uneven ground consists of sand and red earth with sparse grass. Only French was spoken at reception when we arrived, English was not an option. Barbecues are unfortunately not allowed, but there is a nice restaurant in front of the campsite, which is also very popular with the locals (reserve a table) and can be detrimental to a good night's sleep. Wifi is available free of charge, at least in the "lower" area, but you have to provide an email address. The "lower" wash house (unisex) is equipped with sitting toilets including glasses, but without paper. The worthwhile ochre quarries of Rustrel are about 2.8km away on foot or by bike (tip: take the 200m long driveway to the campsite back to the country road, then turn right 150m along the beaten track on the higher edge of the field, then keep eastwards on the cycle path). The site now also has a homepage: http://www.camping-le-colorado.frTraduzido automaticamente.
- E. I.September 2014PositivosNice campsite in a good locationNegativosNot exactly inexpensiveBeautiful place in a quiet locationWe arrived at the campsite at the end of September in pouring rain and were given a very friendly welcome. The site manager looked for a pitch for us where we wouldn't sink into the mud. The next morning, when the weather was unexpectedly beautiful, she gave us a map and good tips for visiting the Colorado... de Provence, which is about 3 kilometers from the campsite and easily accessible by bike on a beautiful path. The Colorado can be visited free of charge. There are three marked circular routes. We chose trail no. 2, which is marked as taking two hours, but it took us a good three hours as there is so much to see. A new, beautiful hiking trail starts right at the campsite, which, like the Corlorado, is lined with numerous colorful rocks. The campsite has a lovely swimming pool, which was still open at the end of September. Unfortunately, there were no more shopping facilities. There is a restaurant in front of the campsite, which makes a good impression from the outside. However, we didn't eat there, but in nearby Rustrel at the Auberge Rustreau, which is highly recommended. Overall, we liked Camping Le Colorado. However, the number of pitches is not very large, so there is likely to be a shortage in the summer. The overnight price was quite high, even for the low season. As on many campsites in France, the number of rental accommodation is increasing.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Margit A.July 2012Wonderful location! The site is right next to a forest and hiking area. It is very pristine, with simple sanitary facilities but a small swimming pool. We particularly liked the peace and quiet.Traduzido automaticamente.
