"Great spot in the dunes - The campground is beautifully situated among the dunes. Katwijk is just a few minutes’ walk away, and the beach is just across the dune. The campground is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The campsites are plenty big. There’s occasional aircraft noise, but that depends on the wind direction—specifically, how the planes take off and land. It didn’t bother us, though. There’s a large restroom building with no gender-separated facilities, which we really liked. However, the number of toilets and showers is a bit limited given the size of the campground. You might have to wait in line sometimes. The restrooms are spotless. Attached to the reception area is a small shop where you can find plenty of supplies, including fresh bread rolls every day at a reasonable price. One slight drawback is that there are no marked water outlets for the standard sites, not even on any map. You have to ask or look for them. We didn’t try the restaurant. All in all, we highly recommend this campground.

"Great CP - Beautiful campsite in the dunes. The highlights are the location in the dunes and the proximity to the sea. You can be there in a few minutes. The sanitary facilities are modern and were always clean. The lack of gender segregation didn't bother us. We will definitely be back

"Square lives from its top location - The reception and check-in were unproblematic. The comfort pitches are large enough. There is a sanitary building on the site. It was somewhat unusual that there was no gender segregation. Toilets, showers and washrooms were in one large room. The ventilation was such that no unpleasant odors were noticeable when showering. The number of toilets and showers seemed to be limited, but I never had to queue. The shower time was electronically timed. The ambience in the wash house was high quality and relatively new. The cleanliness was top notch at all times. There was a small store at reception which was relatively well stocked. Bread rolls are also available there in the morning. The restaurant serves smaller dishes, including takeaway. There is a small mud playground for smaller children. There are no other activities for children. Apart from a dune hike, there was no entertainment during the Easter vacations. The airplanes approaching Amsterdam were a bit annoying at times. The great location in the middle of the dunes with direct access to the beach is hard to beat. The center of Katwijk can be reached on foot within a few minutes.

"Great location, great place - We have been staying at this quiet campsite at least once a year for two decades. The location directly behind the dune and within walking distance of the city center is outstanding. The size of the site is very manageable, which we like very much. However, anyone looking for adventure camping and entertainment will be disappointed here. If the price-performance ratio is criticized here, this is quite understandable. The price is mainly justified by the location. The small store has everything you need in terms of food, as well as a selection of drugstore items and basic camping equipment. The restaurant offers a varied menu with good quality food. The new terrace is also perfect for a glass of wine or a cool Heineken at sunset. Since the generational change in site management, the rules have become somewhat stricter, such as the prescribed orientation of the caravan/tent on the pitch, which is a small minus point.

"Top - A really great campsite. The location is unbeatable. The site is right in the dunes and not far from the sea. Sanis are o.k. - unisex. The kiosk offers a bread roll service and really good basic supplies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only the restaurant could be improved. It's only open at weekends anyway and makes a somewhat chaotic impression in terms of organization. But here too the staff were very nice.

Perfil

Impressive. That is the first thought that comes to mind when you arrive at Strandcamping Zuidduinen. Sand dunes all around, quiet, the sound of the North Sea waves in the back ground and still within a few minutes walk from …the Katwijk village centre. Out of your caravan, motor home or tent, take the paved path across the next dune and the beach is at your feet... At Strandcamping Zuidduinen you are camping in a protected nature reserve. No mass tourism, but a unique spot in a unique area, where one spends lots of time controlling the preservation of nature. Hiking paths, cycle tracks, walking trails, it is all there for you to enjoy. For a unique and beautiful area for your holiday, Strandcamping Zuidduinen is the place to be. But there is another plus: Katwijk aan Zee is easy to reach by all means of transport, from all directions. The historical university town of Leiden is just 15 minutes away. Amsterdam, Den Haag, Delft and most major Dutch cities are within easy reach. Therefore: Strandcamping Zuidduinen, a great place to stay!
