Lake Ermistu is the largest in western country and the ninth largest in Estonia. Lake Ermistu is 4 km long and 1.72 km wide, with an area of up to … 480 ha. The depth of the lake in a large part of the water area does not exceed 0.5-1.2 m (maximum 3.6 m in the water level). Ermistu is one of the lakes rich in fish. Bream and tench are some of the best in Estonia. Pike 10-12 kg are also not rare. Common are perch, crucian carp, roach, redeye and silver bream. On the western shore of Lake Ermistu there are bogs that have formed during the growth of the lagoon. There is a transitional Finnish forest, a bog pine forest and reedbeds near the lake.
