Topcamp Ekeberg - Oslo Recenzje

Pozytywne
Proximity to Oslo city center
Negatywne
Dilapidated sanitary facilities. Dirty sanitary facilities. Partly very steep pitches.
Campsite with major weaknesses
The big advantage of the campsite is its convenient location and proximity to the city of Oslo. But that's all the plus points.
The pitches are all on a lush green meadow, but some of the pitches are on relatively steep terrain. We couldn't park our caravan on the pitch assigned to us and had to get... a new one.
The sanitary facilities are old and in very poor condition, but there are plenty of them. The toilets and showers were not in a clean condition at any time during our 3-day stay. The shower walls didn't seem to have been wiped down for weeks and the toilets smelled like station toilets.
The campsite borders directly on a beautiful city park and is not fenced off from it. Accordingly, there is a lot of traffic from joggers, walkers and people with dogs.

Proximity to the city center
Negatywne
Sanitary outdated, unkempt, unfriendly staff, wifi not working, grounds very uneven.
Hilly meadow close to the city
This isn't actually a campsite at all, but a meadow that is roped off to an adjacent park.
The sanitary facilities are completely outdated and unkempt. Very hilly terrain, no straight pitches, unfriendly staff, no wifi and at almost 70 euros a night (1EW, 1child, 1womo) far too expensive even for Norway.

Pozytywne
Good location with bus connection to the city center
Negatywne
Many pitches on a slope, small sanitary area in relation to the size of the pitch.
Ideally located for a visit to the city
After arriving by ferry, we were allowed to occupy our pitch in the morning at no extra cost. Very suitable for visiting Oslo. Frequent connections with two bus lines to the city center. Despite many guests, it was very quiet. Beautiful view of Oslo.

The sanitary facilities are outdated, but were very... clean. If the place is full, it might be tight here.

The access to the disposal station is suboptimal, as it is right next to the toilet facilities.

Pozytywne
Direct bus connection to the center of Oslo Large tent meadow with grassy ground Small grocery store Cooking facilities
Negatywne
Partly smeared WC and shower cubicles Tiny shelves in the showers, some lack coat hooks Partly steep slope of the tent meadow
Good public transport connections, poor sanitary facilities
The campsite can be reached in approx. 15 minutes from Oslo main station by bus 74 towards Mortensrud T and 34 towards Ekeberg Hageby. The bus stop (Ekeberg Camping) is directly in front of the campsite gate. (Please note: the two bus lines have different stops in front of the campsite, despite having... the same name). Hotplates are available in the wash house. However, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired. The doors of the toilet and shower cubicles are partly covered in graffiti or scratched, some of the clothes hooks in the showers are missing and the shelf is so tiny that you can only just fit your toilet bag on it. There is no shelf for shampoo/soap. In addition, the shoes in the shower cubicle inevitably get wet and the splash guard unfortunately doesn't live up to its promise.

Good view of Oslo, from a bridge outside the square
Negatywne
Unkempt, unclean, disastrous, far too expensive!!!!
Oh my God
This place was the worst I have ever experienced in my camping life. The sanitary facilities.... Disaster! Pitches.... most of them on a steep slope. Value for money.... Completely overpriced. 2 people, car and mini tent, the equivalent of €60 However, the view of Oslo was magnificent, but hardly visible from the pitch itself. Never again!!!!!!!!!

Automatically counted as 4 people, although we were only 2. Showers closed until 07.00 am, although we left at 07.00 am
This place deserves only 1 star
Pitch only sloping, toilets totally outdated, all pipes rusty, very few electricity connections, no water on the pitch, price-performance ratio not right.

Negatywne
Outdated sanitary building, partly broken. Few reasonably straight pitches. Too few power connections
Zuteuer
|For 425NOK per day, 2 people with motorhome. The pitch leaves a lot to be desired. Almost no reasonably level place, a lot of wood and wedges that the Womo is reasonably straight. Sanitary building outdated and unhygienic. Some showers have no storage facilities. Electricity must be checked that there is still a free socket. Electricity sometimes has to be drawn from far away.

Unfortunately, I was standing in front of a locked gate. It wasn't clear on the internet that the campsite was already closed.

Centrally located. There are no more advantages.
Negatywne
Old, very expensive. Bad place ( hillside location )
A place to look at Oslo. Nothing more.
We were there in August 2017. The place is nothing for a vacation. Only suitable for visiting Oslo. Outrageously expensive, sanitary like 30 years ago, electricity costs extra and not too scarce. Situated on a slope. No safe place to get advantage, the bus to the city center stops right in front of the entrance. Unfortunately cannot give the site a better rating.

We were there in July and explored Oslo and Holmemkollen from here. Both were great. As far as the site is concerned, you should definitely get chocks before you visit. The terrain is a disaster.

Good connection to Oslo City
Negatywne
Price-performance not ok, pitches due to the hillside location especially problematic for campers.
Expensive place close to the city center of Oslo
Meadow area with a steep slope on a hill above the city. The "magnificent view of the city and harbor" sometimes advertised in camping guides is now severely restricted by the natural tree growth, the hillside location prevents the horizontal alignment of motorhomes and caravans on at least half of the... alleged 700 pitches and after prolonged rain, traction problems must be expected depending on the pitch. Reception was friendly in English, there is a kiosk for the essentials and chips, kebabs etc. are available at acceptable prices in a snack bar. The sanitary building is ok and was clean at the time of our visit, showers are expensive at 15 kroner, which is in line with the rest of the pricing: we paid the equivalent of 42 euros per night for a camper van/2 people/electricity and, based on our previous experience, this is very expensive for mid-June, even by Norwegian standards. The campsite is a good starting point for a visit to Oslo, there is a bus station in front of the site entrance and the modern city is really worth seeing.

OK for 1-2 days.
Stayed here for 1 night as an overnight stopover, some pitches sloping, only a few fresh water taps. Many younger people with tents, the C-pitch is suitable for sightseeing in Oslo. Sanitary facilities as they were 30 (?) years ago. Prices very, very high. In the evening, after a 10-minute walk, we had a beautiful view over the illuminated Oslo. I would not recommend the site for a longer stay.

Location to Oslo

Cleanliness, condition of the buildings, atmosphere
Typical transit site
Well, what can I say. The square is a pure and typical transit square. People come and go and the square and its buildings look accordingly after a while. The buildings were old and unkempt. The sanitary facilities/showers were cleaned, but due to their age and the frequency of visits, you really just... wanted to leave. Unfortunately, the campers were infected by the poor infrastructure of the site. They rarely greeted us and we rarely got into a conversation - which was a shame as we weren't used to that. But well, we also wanted to move on and Oslo was only a stopover/~point for us - our thoughts were already elsewhere...

Great view of Oslo
The great view of Oslo, the proximity to the city center and the beautiful walks nearby are already worth the stay, fortunately in August there were not too many campers on the large site with far too few sanitary facilities and too small kitchen.

Negatywne
Dirty, expensive, poor sense of security
unclean, very loud, not a good feeling of safety
One of the six toilets was usable. Furthermore, there was a large group on the site who patrolled every 10 minutes by car. It was noticeable that many campers did not feel comfortable. Almost everyone went to the toilet in twos or threes. Not a nice place

Oslo transit camp...
As I have already written several times, there is a constant coming and going here. People line up nicely here and then you're gone again. The view over Oslo is great, but that's about it. The sanitary buildings, like the campsite, are more like mass processing.

A seaport
Great movement, people of all nationalities. In Oslo one is almost necessarily diverted to this campsite. The location is great, with a nice view of the city, easily reached by bus, car, bike, or even on foot. The pitches are not marked, and the terrain is all or almost all sloping. Facilities leave... much to be desired: dirt, crowding, broken doors, nonexistent gandi hangers, crowded laundry. The price is acceptable, but does not justify the service provided. Internet connection for a fee. Ideal to use only as a dormitory while comfortably visiting the city.

Just a big city square ...
We stayed at this campsite in August. Friendly welcome at reception. Pitch was not overcrowded. Sanitary facilities were surprisingly clean and ok. Everything worked. Great location to the city. Bus connection to the city optimal. Power supply was a bit of a mess (too few connections, therefore adventurous connections) Nevertheless: Ok.

Better to move on to the next pitch
I have positive memories of the friendly staff, but that was all. When the police have to patrol a campsite, it's time to leave. We didn't feel comfortable for the first time in Norway.
