"A nogo for dog owners! - We (2 people with dog) stayed at the Klausenhorn campsite together with our parents-in-law (without dog). We had specially booked a pitch where dogs are allowed. The parents-in-law had a normal pitch without a dog. In the morning we met for breakfast at the parents-in-law's - completely normal, we thought. But suddenly the employee who was mowing the lawn told us in a very unfriendly tone that we "had no business here with a dog" and were not allowed to visit our parents-in-law. We found this to be completely excessive and inappropriate in this form - a friendly note would have done the trick. Especially as all the neighbors liked our dog and couldn't understand the behavior either. Unfortunately, the reception was also less than hospitable in this matter. Mr. S. told us that if we visited the parents-in-law's pitch again with our dog, we would be "expelled from the pitch immediately", as they would make use of their domestic authority in this case. We found this kind of behavior disrespectful and inappropriate. I can't comment on the food at the restaurant/kiosk on site. However, the evening before I wanted to ask a quick question and knocked on the window in a friendly manner, as there was still an employee inside. Unfortunately, I was turned away very curtly and unfriendly. That was a shame, because a short, polite exchange would have been enough. Overall, I am disappointed: the location and the campsite itself are beautiful, but individual employees - including the reception in this incident - unfortunately spoiled the stay with their unfriendly and threatening behavior.

"Beautiful location - On the whole, the place was fine, but not perfect for me as a dog owner when the dog is with me. Very good for cycling and relaxing.

"Very nice campsite with a super nice conder offer - We found the campsite very nice and it was wonderful that Christian values were still taught in a Christian country. The children had a Punch and Judy program, singing, handicrafts and much more on offer from a Protestant church. Unfortunately, we no longer have small children ourselves, but we thought the program was wonderful, especially in these times when children are growing up almost exclusively with social media. The call over the microphone was so funny and not at all pressurizing. We should all think about where we stand. Super Klausenhorn, keep up the good work We'll be back🥳

"Good location, but can be cramped and very noisy - We stayed for a week in July 2024 and booked a Schlaffass and a pitch for our caravan. A nearby “kids disco” at the beach wasn’t advertised or announced by reception. The Schaffass was right next to the disco sound equipment, which blared out music until 23:00. I complained about the noise to reception, but was given a luke warm apology. Apparently the disco was out of the Campsites control. That’s fair enough, but my problem was that none of this was communicated. The campsite and local council prides itselfof their environmental standards and values, yet is happy to noise pollute the nature reserve next to it, which doesn’t make sense. Another downside were the daily “mass announcements”, which started at around 8 am. Further announcements were made during lunchtime curfew times. It all just doesn’t make sense. My overall impression is that Klausenhorn, due to its size, doesn’t have to give 2 Hoots about what customers think, because they will always have enough interest because of their good location to the lake. It can be a cramped and noisy site, with conversations and parties going on until long after 2am. You have been warned!

"Missionary Christians - I find it difficult that the operators of the campsite are giving missionary evangelicals a platform to bring people back to the Christian faith. The children's program was taken over by a mission-conscious deacon who wants to turn people into Christians with low-threshold offers. During the camping week, the loudspeakers were used three times a day to call people to "paint benches", "make wine" and "good night stories". - The whole thing is only really visible on the campsite website if you search for it. - We felt so harassed. Imagine the whole thing if Muslims were publicly calling for sermons...

"Very nice campsite with a great location on the lake - We couldn't understand the many comments and generally don't give a damn about reviews, as you always have to make the experiences yourself. We will certainly be back.
