"Pure France - simple and honest - The "Las Closes" campsite is a very small site offering a vacation home for campers, mobile home and caravan / motorhome tourists in typical southern French style. The paths are narrow, the bushes and trees only moderately trimmed, the weather in summer is hot and dry, we spend our vacation here under the sun of old Catalonia. Everywhere the street signs are bilingual, you can see the still blazing love of the people here for Catalonia. The place is interesting if you want to explore the caves and gorges of the Canigou massif in the Pyrenees. There is a lot to see and experience here, both underground and above ground; swimming in the rocky gorges is incredibly exciting and unusual and yet safe, so it is also very interesting for children. You pack everything - swimming gear, bread, wine and salami, and spend the day at one of the small rocky lakes in the gorges. The children romp and run around and you can enjoy life in the south of France with free bathing fun. "Las Closes" offers accommodation, but only the bare essentials - the sanitary facilities are clean, but meet the decades-old standards of the South of France and Provence, painted ochre yellow and open on all sides at the top. There are showers with and without adjustable temperature, washing is still done side by side, washing up is done in the open air. This is no longer quite up to date, but very rustic and typical. In the lower part of the site there is a sanitary block next to the reception, in the upper part there is a very small unit by the swimming pool. The pitches are mostly shady due to the tree vegetation, which can be a challenge for caravan and motorhome drivers as it sometimes hangs quite low. So watch out! The swimming pool is small but large enough to cool off in the late afternoon with a few swims. Las Closes does not offer any other infrastructure; you have to use your car to go shopping as there are no supermarkets in Corneilla. The small boulangerie, which sells fresh bread in the morning, is at least within walking or cycling distance. The people on the site are friendly, but there are hardly any German guests; the mobile homes are mostly occupied by French people, with the odd Dutch caravan thrown in for good measure. At over 17 euros per night, the site is not as cheap as it should be for what it offers, but it is also not a municipal site in municipal hands. It is suitable for a few days in the Pyrenees and at the Pic du Canigou due to its rustic character, but is not recommended for a longer vacation.
