The narrow road, which comes from Beaufort in many hairpin bends and climbs 600 meters in altitude, is a bit of a challenge for teams, but there... were no surprises on our arrival and departure.
The site itself is well laid out and offers a surprising amount of flat space for caravans and tents.
Due to the coronavirus, we had registered, only French is spoken and there was no problem when we wanted to change our registration for a day earlier at short notice.
The sanitary facilities are small and also limited due to corona. As the site was not very busy, there were no problems. However, if there are more guests there, it could get really cramped.
You can order bread in the evening for the next morning, which is of excellent quality. As there is nothing else, I have not given a rating for "catering".
The site is well located for activities in the area. It's not far to the lake, where there were a number of non-motorized boats, some of the surrounding mountains can be accessed directly from the campsite and the destinations on Lac de Roselend are also easy to reach because the pass road leaves before Arêche.
A disadvantage is the supply. In Arêche there are only very few shopping facilities and in Beaufort there is also only one extremely poorly stocked store, whose staff are also in a bad mood. You have to drive an impressive 14 km to Villard-sur-Doron to find a well-stocked Intermarche, which also has a petrol station. So stock up on supplies on the way there.
Conclusion: A beautiful site in a beautiful location, which significantly accelerates altitude acclimatization due to its altitude.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
