We were greeted very nicely and received comprehensive information about the pitch itself and other recommendations for the surrounding area (eating out, shopping etc.) - simply great!...
Our receptionist - a pearl! Friendly, patient, helpful, accommodating, attentive and if she had time for work, she also found time for a chat. And we also found all of this in the rest of the KNAUS campsite team.
We felt accepted and welcome as soon as we checked in - thank you very much for this positive experience!
We were allocated a fantastic riverside pitch with a fabulous view of the Baltic Sea.
This view - fantastic!
Everything was there - water and electricity connections, plenty of space for our camper van, our table and the group of chairs.
We were immediately "shockingly in love". You can really relax here, look out over the Baltic Sea and just let your mind wander. Unbelievable, simply unbelievable this view and the relaxation factor, if you take the time to "soak up" this idyll and let it work its magic on you.
The campsite itself - clearly laid out, paths and meadow areas very well maintained and well lit.
The sanitary area is secured by transponder technology - strangers or new campers without an authorization chip cannot enter this area.
The washing and sanitary area - tip top! Clean floors, sinks, toilets, always warm water - even when showering.
The corridor to the washing and sanitary areas - a real eye-catcher! Designed and realized with great passion by the artist Olena Vigutova. Beautiful Baltic Sea motifs! We used this great work extensively for selfies.
The beach is easily accessible on foot via a flight of steps.
The beach itself - a mixture of pebbles and sand, endless water and very few people. During our stay, it was often cooler and a stiff breeze blew. But we enjoyed it - our solitary walks on the beach.
There are also shopping facilities directly at the campsite to cover your daily needs.
In the negative reviews, the price/performance ratio is often "criticized" here. We can't really understand that.
Logically, you also pay for availability here. This is not a supermarket! Who wants to set off by car or bike when you run out of shower gel? We rather don't. We are happy that there is such an option and are therefore happy to pay a little more. The same applies to the bread roll service. It's great that you can pre-order bread rolls for the next day and don't have to "traipse" around unnecessarily. We really enjoyed using this bread roll service. The bread rolls were a little more expensive, but always super fresh and ready to pick up around 8:15 am.
And we also tried the food. Goulash soup was on offer for €9.50.
The consistency of the goulash soup was more like a goulash stew - super tasty! It was served with baguettes.
A lot of enjoyment for little money.
Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy our seat to the full. Was it the place? Not really! Rather because we didn't have enough time during our stay. We had already planned a lot for Rügen in advance. We set off on our "Rügen discovery tour" from this campsite and were therefore out and about more often during the day.
But we will definitely be back next year!
Then at a warmer time of year and with our bikes, to discover Altenkirchen with its shopping and dining options and Cape Arkona, to get to know the country and its people better and to enjoy this magnificent view of the Baltic Sea from our KNAUS campsite.

Title: Fantastic view and absolute peace and quiet right by the sea
We had a really great time on this site and were completely satisfied. Particularly noteworthy:
The location: We were on pitch no. 4 in the first row - directly in front of the... sea. You could hardly wish for a better view of the Baltic Sea!
Atmosphere: It's a very quiet site. Even the sound of the surf in the wind was relaxing rather than disturbing.
Relaxation factor: We had wonderful weather until the last day (when it unfortunately rained) and were able to enjoy the view of the water to the full.
Conclusion: Everything was great, everything was beautiful - keep it up! We would love to come back.
A little tip for other campers:

The proximity to the sea is unbeatable with a direct view of the sea. Spacious pitches with electricity and water on site. Beach exit 100 meters away. The... beach consists of coarse stones in places. The whole facility and the sanitary facilities are super clean. Uncomplicated handling. Fresh water, electricity, shower, waste water, WC, cassette emptying all inclusive. Washing machine and dryer available - can be used via WeWash.
The bike path towards Cape Arkona (7 km) is a dream and an absolute MUST!

However, I only give it three stars out of five, as the showers and sanitary facilities are clearly getting on in years. Everything was clean and tidy, but only five showers for quite a few pitches.......and not everyone showers in their motorhome.......that's never enough in high season and the shower jam is pre-programmed...... just getting on in years.......so you should think about an improvement.
