Positive ting
Modern sanitary facilities, great restaurant, swimming pool at its best. Electricity and water at every pitch. A beautiful area for cycling and hiking. All in all, a special place that I can highly recommend.
Negative ting
The "old part" of the site is in stark contrast to the elaborately constructed new facilities. The pitches for caravans are also very small.
Luxury meets tradition
Everything has been said about the pros and cons. We felt very comfortable here.

Positive ting
Great modern sanitary facilities Walking (cycle) paths away from the site Friendly reception
Negative ting
the tone of the signs
Great little place
I arrived on Sunday afternoon and the reception was not manned. This was probably due to the low season. A quick call to the groundsman and he was there in 15 minutes. Registration was quick and easy. We were allocated our pitch. The rows in the tourist area are separated by trees. Sat reception is mostly... unproblematic. The pitches are on the meadow and quite straight. The pillars with electricity and water are directly on the pitch, so no long distances.
The sanitary/reception/restaurant building is newly built, very clean and modern. One small flaw: as with many buildings where there are no more light switches and everything is controlled by motion detectors: If you are standing in the shower and no one else is in the bathroom, the light sometimes goes out. Then it's a case of opening the shower cubicle door and closing it again, then the light comes back on. The shower cubicles are very spacious and showers are included. Top! I still don't understand what the thin toilet paper is for. You have to unwind a lot. Something thicker and you use less.
What is completely wrong are the signs: You know the signs: "Please separate waste" or "Use toilet brush". Here it sounds like this: "Switch on your brain when separating waste...." So this is a total miscommunication. This is not a sign but a rude insult at the lowest level. If you don't care about waste separation or cleanliness, you won't be impressed. Others are more likely to feel offended. But that's probably the "Franconian cordiality". It's a pity, it tarnishes the overall impression somewhat. The staff were very friendly, so it doesn't really fit together.

Positive ting
Brand new and clean sanitary facilities Direct access to the natural swimming pool (free for campers)
Negative ting
No playground on the campsite
Beautiful place with natural swimming pool next door
Beautiful place with old trees. The sanitary area is completely new and was very clean. There is a restaurant right next to the campsite (but we didn't try it). There is also a beautiful natural swimming pool right next to the site. Entry is free for campers.
The pitches are large enough and there are... water points and electricity in the immediate vicinity.
When we were there, there were relatively few families with children. Perhaps because there is no playground on the campsite, but perhaps also by chance.
Bakers, butchers and several restaurants are within a radius of approx. 300m. There is a bread roll service on Sundays.

Positive ting
Negative ting
alles in Ordnung

Positive ting
Amazing standard lift due to new shower and toilet facilities. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quiet location in pretty village with lovely surroundings and bike trails. Value for money, approx 20€/night all incl. (Low season). Water, electricy and drain on pitch. Lovely mineral pool to cool of in.
Negative ting
None, other than no campsite shop, which is not a necessity but would raise total award to 5/5. Our apraisal is 4.9/5. No restaurant, but lovely places with great food in village.
This website needs updating. A completely new sanititets unit since 2021.
Wonderful place..
A place for rest and relaxation, for body and soul
We will be back.

completed in July 2021 - new sanitary building - Natural outdoor pool with kiosk Close to the greater Nuremberg area (40 km)
Negative ting
Unhindered access to the pitch possible
Quiet campsite
Situated away from roads on the edge of the village, old trees, beautiful camping meadow, hiking and cycling opportunities in meadows and woods.

In the village there is a bakery with daily necessities, a butcher's shop, the Loscher brewery with a drinks market (Club-Mate), a delicious Greek restaurant, a sophisticated German restaurant and a café open at weekends with delicious cakes and tarts.

Positive ting
Well located for those passing through
Negative ting
Cleanliness!!!
OK for passing through, but I wouldn't stay there any longer
We stopped at the campsite when we were passing through. It was OK for 1 night, but I wouldn't want to spend a vacation there under any circumstances. The pitches are level and absolutely fine in terms of size. However, the sanitary building is very run-down, there is mold in the showers and a thorough cleaning (or new construction) is urgently needed.

Positive ting
Good price-performance ratio Level pitches Clean and heated sanitary facilities
Negative ting
Partly narrow access roads Older sanitary facilities
Simple campsite with good value for money
I was at the campsite for a weekend. The groundsman or deputy can be reached via the mobile number if they are not directly in the office. Even then they come to the guest within a few minutes to check in. Very friendly interaction with guests. I was also informed directly about the infrastructure of... the site and shopping facilities in the village. The bakery and butcher are just a few minutes' walk away. The access road through a residential area is a bit narrow, but still accessible for everyone. Some of the paths on the site itself are also very narrow. There are a lot of permanent campers on the site. Electricity is close to the pitches. Water taps are also available. Sanitary facilities are getting on in years, but have always been clean. In the shower, the usual picture with a small partition behind which things can still easily get wet. The showers are equipped with a hand shower. The sanitary building is well heated (praise for this). For dog owners, there is a quick way out of the campsite and into the green areas. Waste bins are also available along the way.

Clean and tidy.
On the way south...
we stayed here for just one night in July 2015. We were the only guests on the camping field, so the car was allowed to stay by the tent. No pitches. The sanitary facilities may not be up to date, but there is hot running water and a shower that you can adjust to your height and hold in your hand. I found it clean and tidy. We got our barbecue meat on a walk through the village. Only five minutes from the CP.

Positive ting
Quiet, clean, very friendly atmosphere, good value for money.
Negative ting
Not a place to party...but I'm not necessarily looking for that either.
Steigerwald Camping Münchsteinach is a quiet idyll.
We were there in spring 2015 and were impressed by the modest elegance of the place. The well-kept site has an outdoor pool that campers can use free of charge. For us, the site was a starting point for excursions in the surrounding area (Nuremberg). Hiking, cycling and motorcycling were the strengths of the place. Everything was well-kept and meticulously clean. (I can recommend this place with a clear conscience.
