Thermal camping
Cp with adjoining thermal spa, entrance included, wellness area with sauna exclusive. Green site, in the older part with tall trees and lots of shade, some permanent campers, in the newer part still no trees or hedges, but with a newer wash house. Pitches sometimes a little narrow. Electricity weakly... secured and partly far away, number of water points very low. The maintenance of the site is average, sanitary facilities tidy and clean. Restaurant on site and other (good) restaurants within easy reach. Small store at the entrance, Lidl 13 km away. Wellness: Massage was very good, but the "mud pack" only consisted of a few warm bags. Sauna with indoor pool, otherwise several outdoor pools. Guests sit close together in 2 warm pools, 1 warm pool in which you can swim a little at a shallow depth, 1 swimmer's pool with normal water. The spa is public, with a large parking lot, a large housing estate and 2 hotels in the immediate vicinity, so it is also quite full.
The place has apparently had a fan base for years, we found the overall standard and friendliness to be capable of improvement.

Positive ting
manageable, close to the Seewinkel, beautiful landscape, thermal baths
Negative ting
Close to through road (but very little traffic), my pitch was slightly inclined (own fault, next time bring wedges)
Quiet place with a family-feeling spa
Having already enjoyed several cycle tour short breaks in Hegykö (in permanent accommodation), I did my test camping with my newly acquired roof tent on this site, which I had noticed time and again on previous visits to the thermal baths.
I didn't regret my decision at all and really enjoyed my stay... there (lots of cycling, visits to the thermal baths), especially the fact that a visit to the thermal baths is included in the camping price and is also possible from 7am.
My next stay in the Fertö - Lake Neusiedl region will definitely be there again.

We love booking the Beate beauty salon, actually whenever we are there
Negative ting
Since May 2021, 4 euros more per person have been charged if you check in at the campsite before 1 pm.
Camping with adjoining thermal spa - come here often
We have been coming to the CP and the thermal baths here regularly every year for 13 years. Before "C", the ladies at reception were not always friendly. You felt like you were being handled. The staff have apparently been replaced and now it's better - except for one. Another hotel is being built on... the site and should be ready by mid-2022. Guests fear that prices will then rise again. We pay (July 21) approx. 31 euros per night for 2 people. The ADAC card is recognized with 10 %. Please check your bills, as it often happens that the discount is not taken into account. There is no supermarket in Hegykö. There is a PRIMA in Fertöd and a Tesco, Aldi and Lidl in Sopron.

You can also spend the night in front of the thermal bath in the large parking lot and enjoy the thermal bath with a day ticket. The sanitary facilities were always very clean. The spa is cleaned every evening.

Yes, there are several small restaurants on the site. We don't like the greasy Hungarian food, so we are self-caterers here. You can eat better outside around the spa. But it's all a matter of taste.

A neighbor's caravan once lost power
Great winter campsite
We were there in December following a recommendation from a camper friend. Pitches are freely selectable. Electricity is available and access to the thermal pools is possible at any time. Even from 6 a.m. campers are already in the hot pool to relax before most visitors arrive. The sanitary facilities... are new and clean. There are many inns and restaurants on and around the site, as well as a coffee house that offers a bread roll service in the morning. There is also a beauty salon, massage studios and a hairdresser.

Quite good
We spent a week there at the beginning of September 2019. The thermal pools are really nice. The campsite is very clean, but the pitches are not large and not always shaded. Lots of camping cars in September. The location, close to Niedlersee and its nature park, is very pleasant.

Negative ting
This year the last 2 weeks of May and the 1st week of June (I left early) were a disaster.
roadworks in the campsite area
I have been coming to this place since 2002 and several times a year 2019 in May-June it was really bad, the whole day in front of my place truck traffic, excavator sales and entry and exit of all vehicles from and to the place. sitting outside or leaving the door open was not possible, because only gasoline or diesel smell.an imposition.would have expected a more generous discount for the last 2 weeks.

Disappointing
The thermal spa may be what it wants to be. The campsite is an imposition. Thermal camping should no longer be like this. Everything in the tourist area is very unkempt. No grass and no hedges are cut. Electricity is now available at some of the pitches. Only some of the connections work. The reception... staff have no idea which pitches are still available. When you arrive, you have to walk around the whole site on your own and search. It's like a campsite in the south of France in the 60s. We won't be back.

Negative ting
I have not noticed any disadvantages.
Nice clean place with thermal baths
The site is particularly inviting for the older generation who want to relax in the thermal baths. Very extensive and inexpensive localities on the site. Pedicure and manicure, hairdresser, massages and much more on the campsite, all accessible in a bathrobe. A second new sanitary building has just been built.

Too many guests for a spa that is too small. Sanitary facilities too small. Staff not flexible enough to rectify faults quickly.
no longer worthwhile. too many groups, too many people
we stayed at sara thermal for 15 days at the beginning of april 2017. over easter there was a tchech.club. registered with 50 caravans, campers. about 100 came. accordingly, the thermal pool was overcrowded. the management was not able to open the toilets and showers in the thermal bath earlier and close... them later. in the area for "normal guests" and the many club guests, there was a makeshift container with 2 showers and 2 toilets and a washroom. there was hardly any hot water for washing up and the showers and toilets were not heated. when asked at reception, the response was defensive. and the price was increased despite the renovation. Friendliness and competence are a foreign word here. it is not possible that more and more guests come to the campsite and it does not come to a stop because too many guests and also guests from outside come. Question, who checks the cleanliness of the thermal baths when will the meadow be divided into plots and the whole meadow will be straightened with slabs and gravel?

New Year's Eve relaxation
On New Year's Eve, we spent three nights here in a caravan for two. The environment and the cleanliness of the bathrooms and service areas are beyond reproach. Pleasant thermal pools, saunas. Excellent for a few days relaxation.

Positive ting
The proximity of the WOMO or WOWA to the bathroom. The weather doesn't matter. If it's hot, you go to the swimming pool, or always to the thermal baths.
Negative ting
From dusk onwards, the appearance of gnats and gnats for about 1 hour. I don't like it when the pitch has to be reserved.
A place where the weather doesn't matter.
We have been driving here once or twice for 8 years. Just the highway and then 20 km on the main road, it couldn't be easier. That's what someone who has traveled over 200,000 km with a WOMO in Europe says and is now taking it easy. The pitch is super, you can stand under trees or on a meadow. It's about... 60 meters from the pitch to the swimming pool or thermal bath. Whether it rains or snows, the path is not far. Everything is available on site, hairdressers, restaurants, you can eat well and cheaply. We always go to the "Gösser as we say", about 100 meters from the spa, the food is great and reasonably priced. For example, grilled pike-perch, a vegetarian platter, 2 half beers, two glasses of wine €21.

Thermal baths in Camingplatz
The small spa is located in the campsite. Open from 6am for campers. Beautiful outdoor pools. Very good food in the spa. Best price-performance ratio. Very good gastronomy around the spa. Hegykö is located directly on the Neusiedlersee cycle path.

nice place also interesting in terms of price, but permanently overcrowded due to the small and always overcrowded thermal bath! on weekends and public holidays there are also day guests, then you actually have to give tickets for the thermal pools, can not keep the standard for this with austrian conditions,... unfortunately. if you only come for camping and cycling, the place is very nice, however, you just pay for the thermal bath, but the prices are still below the comparison! i will certainly travel again, also to revive the hungarian dental economy!

As long-time guests of the Sa-Ra thermal campsite, here is an update from our stay at the end of April/beginning of May 2013 The infrastructure of service providers such as hairdressers, cosmetics, manicures and pedicures, massages on site is still very good. There is a noticeable loss of quality in... the well-known restaurants, at least in the entrance area; we have eaten better there. I would like to praise the new option of buying extremely tasty Fornetti pastries on site every day from 07:30. We didn't notice any loss of quality in the restaurant at the back of the square with the "heavenly dishes". The overall price level is still reasonable. Over the winter, the sanitary building in the front part of the campsite was rebuilt and enlarged, and there are now twice as many toilets and showers there. Due to the reconstruction and the division of the thermal pool, relaxing in the warm thermal water is finally a thing of the past. If day visitors also come to the pool on weekends or public holidays, those seeking relaxation kneel and squat in rows of two along the edge of the pool. In future, it will probably be necessary to issue tickets with limited bathing time. In the lower part of the site, the "original" campsite, there are fewer and fewer free pitches for campers who can only stay for a few days or weeks due to the increasing number of permanent campers with caravans and garden gnomes every year. The site is practically always overcrowded; during our stay there were at least 70 mobile homes on the former sunbathing lawn right up to the volleyball court, which had to make do with a total of 4 toilets and showers in 2 containers. Summary If you don't have a problem with the overcrowding of the campsite and can find a free pitch without a reservation, Hegykö still has a thermal spa with a good infrastructure and reasonable prices.
