Cars Driving Too Fast
Well-maintained campground
Everything has already been said about the campground. We can only confirm this. The only drawback we noticed was that many campers were driving too fast on the campground. Why? Judging by the license plates, most of the drivers were long-term campers.

Positive ting
Place is good for relaxing. Lots of leisure activities such as hiking, cycling and swimming.
Negative ting
You are not allowed to put up a dog fence, no matter how high. No dog bag station and no garbage cans in front of or on the pitch. No dog shower. So why pay 3.50 euros for the dog?
Good place
Nice, tidy site in beautiful surroundings.
The pitches are relatively large. Sanitary building large and always clean.
Hikes are possible directly from the site. Very nice with a dog.
Bischofsheim can be reached quickly and you can buy all the groceries you need there.
Our pitch no. 25 had no satellite... reception and very poor WiFi.
The garbage area should be cleaned.
The books in the library should be replaced,
what is there is already very old.
With Acsi Card a very good price.

A pearl in the Rhön
Stayed at this very nice campsite in May 2025. The management and staff very friendly, helpful and good tips for excursions and guest towns. The pitches are huge with water/waste water and electricity connections. Sanitary spacious and clean. A barrier ensures peace and quiet at midday. Endless excursion destinations. We will definitely come back here. We promise!
Best regards, the Ilmenauer

Camping as you imagine it!
We chose this place for a weekend trip with 2 children. Arrival and check-in were extremely friendly and uncomplicated. We were able to choose one of 4 pitches. The pitches are large enough and equipped with electricity, water and drainage. The sanitary building was very clean and you have plenty of... space for all your errands. The playground is also adequate and well maintained. The highlight was the outdoor pool next door, which is included in the price of the pitch. We were able to use it straight away due to the temperatures.
The site has no frills and feels tailored to the Rhön. It fits! We will definitely be back.

quiet on the outskirts of Bischofsheim Bread roll service Outdoor pool right next door, free entry for camping guests in summer Very clean and spacious sanitary facilities
Negative ting
Unfortunately no shopping facilities on site apart from bread roll service
well-kept, quiet campsite on the outskirts of Bischofsheim
The site is very well maintained and well managed. The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean.
A quiet place perfect for hikers and cyclists, in summer admission to the adjacent outdoor pool is included

Positive ting
Skating rink, outdoor pool, hiking trails
Negative ting
For us there was no
Simple beautiful campsite
Nice little campsite without any big frills.
There are no restaurants on site..... but you don't really need them either. It's about a 15-minute walk to Bischofsheim. One or the other also delivers directly to the campsite.
The sanitary facilities are clean and sufficiently well equipped.
For our kids... (aged 10 and 13), the skate park and the outdoor pool are of course the big highlights.
The skate park is free of charge and you get swimming tickets for the outdoor pool when you arrive. So admission is free here too.
When we were there, we were glad to have the outdoor pool. It was damn hot!!!
Hikes, for example up the Kreuzberg, are very easy from the campsite. The reward is a good monastery beer and a hearty meal!
Shopping at the campsite is only possible to a limited extent - but that's not really a problem, as there are plenty of shops in Bischofsheim.
We were traveling with three families this time. We were allocated the "Rondell" pitch. It was perfect for us, as the three of us were able to set up very well here.
Can only recommend the site. If you don't need high-end sanitary blocks, entertainment, star restaurants or the like, you're in good hands here. Camping is still camping here!!!
We would definitely love to come back!!!

Positive ting
Very nice location, friendly operators, spacious, always clean and handicapped accessible sanitary facilities, free entry to the neighboring outdoor pool, large pitches with partial shade, small kiosk with delicious sandwiches and everything necessary
Negative ting
Actually nothing negative, Perhaps a storage facility in the room for disposing of the chemical toilet would be appropriate
Chic little campsite
The campsite is situated in a scenic location and is easily accessible both by road and highway. The pitches are generously sized. The sanitary building is centrally located and offers very spacious, always clean toilets and showers as well as cabins with washbasins, some of which are handicapped accessible.... In the same building there is a large scullery, laundry room with washing machines and dryers as well as a separate drying room for laundry. There is also a solarium and a small library on the upper floor, and the neighboring outdoor pool can be used free of charge.
There is a small kiosk where you can buy fresh bread rolls in the morning on pre-order, and at the weekend there was also a good selection of cakes. There is also a small, helpful range of everyday necessities.
The Adrian family who run the site are always friendly and very keen to make your stay a pleasant one. The site is very well maintained. Water and electricity are easily accessible. The nearby road is slightly audible on the front pitches, but this didn't bother us too much.
All in all, a site that we would be happy to recommend and that we will definitely visit again.

Positive ting
Surroundings, sanitary
Negative ting
Quite narrow, instructions on how to stand
Very regimented, not very flexible. Great surroundings make up for it.
Overall, the site is in a really nice location and it was also very quiet at night. We didn't like the fact that the pitches are rather close together and that you are told how to position your car at reception as soon as you arrive. We would have liked to have had less presentation, which would have... been possible on the pitch without any restrictions for the others. Sanitary facilities were good, but the washing-up room in the basement was ok. Quite a lot of prohibitions or unfriendly signs about what to do and what not to do. A little more friendliness would certainly be nice here. Overall, however, the site is a great starting point for hikes and that makes up for it.

Beautifully maintained place
Very well-kept site in the middle of the beautiful Rhön.
Clean wash house, midday rest with closed barrier (I think this should generally be abolished, you are not in jail) Pitches okay, sometimes very narrow. Nice outdoor pool and a skate park for children directly at the campsite

Very nice place
A beautifully laid out CP with large pitches, all of which are equipped with electricity, water and drainage. The modern and generously sized sanitary facilities are located in the middle of the site.

Many permanent campers, but also enough space for tourists, at least in the summer months. In the winter... months, the tourist pitches are probably also available for winter season campers. The site is well frequented, so it is advisable to make a reservation or inquiry.

Bischofsheim is a lovely little town with many restaurants.

The ladies at reception are very nice. There is a bread roll service.

The price is quite reasonable for this good quality pitch. We paid €20 for 2 people, caravan and car in September. There is also a €0.50 charge for a long shower and a €1/person/day visitor's tax.

Positive ting
The pitches are parceled out with a layout so that there is a uniform picture and no one gets in each other's way. Well-kept lawns and hedges between the rows. The sanitary building in the middle of the site is new, modern, well-kept and clean. Fresh bread rolls are available daily on the pitch and must be ordered by 5pm the evening before. The area around the campsite is beautiful for walking and hiking.
Negative ting
Paths and plots could be a little wider and larger, you have to unhook the caravan on the way and maneuver it onto the pitch, difficult without a mover for larger caravans.
Beautiful, organized, not too big.
Small, private pitch, very well organized and maintained. Pitches partly sunny or shady as there are old trees on the pitch. Modern and clean sanitary building. Space on the pitch somewhat cramped in places.

Very nice campsite in the heart of the Rhön
We were away for a long weekend without children. We liked the campsite very much. The friendliness of the operators should be emphasized. The sanitary facilities are spacious, well-kept and clean! The tourist pitches vary in size, we had a really big pitch. Bread roll service is great. Otherwise there... are only the essentials. The town of Bischofsheim is within walking distance and you can get everything you need here. There are also large supermarkets outside. The campsite is a good starting point for exploring the Rhön on foot and by bike.

it can get very loud in HP
nice place in the Rhön
Reservation only from four nights, otherwise free choice on arrival. The pitches vary in size and are only partly shaded. The site is right next to the outdoor pool (possibly very noisy in the season). Very spacious and very clean sanitary facilities. Showers 50 Ct. Very nice operators. Summer and winter... operation. To Bischofsheim 10min. Walk, as there are various restaurants. The Kreuzberg can also be reached by bus, but hiking trails also start from the campsite.

Nice campsite for hiking and relaxing. Without much tam tam, original camping feeling, nevertheless everything available what campers need, showers and toilets clean. Place looks very well maintained. One overnight stay turned into five. Says it all.

Positive ting
- very cordial operators - great location for hikes or to go into the village - retro campsite as ever - outdoor pool next door
Negative ting
- Road partly audible
Traditional campsite
It's a traditional campsite, so without 5-star sanitary facilities or a lot of air conditioning on the site. Simply camping and relaxation. There is no chasing after the latest trends here. This is a good thing and should be preserved, because that's what camping is all about. That's why you still meet... many "old school" campers on this site, quiet, reserved, but always ready for a nice chat and tips. A great atmosphere. From the campsite, you can easily reach the beautiful village on foot, but you can also embark on challenging 7-8 hour hikes.

friendly hosts, free entry to the outdoor pool, clean sanitary facilities, toilet paper and soap in the toilet
Negative ting
Missing camping hut and recreation room
Great place with friendly hosts
We were guests on the site for a week with two adults and two children (6 + 9) with a large tent. We felt very comfortable, which is also due to the free entry to the outdoor pool. The sanitary facilities, the scullery and all other facilities are very clean and attractive. At the reception you can buy... a few things for daily use, ice cream and cold drinks. We used the bread roll service every day. The mini golf course is a bit outdated, but we still enjoyed playing a round or two. Five-minute showers cost €0.50, and the time only runs when the water is running => more than enough time! The site is an ideal starting point for excursions and hikes in the vicinity (Kreuzberg approx. 1.5 - 2 hours on foot, Wasserkuppe approx. 20 minutes by car...) For tent guests, it would be desirable if there were a lounge (possibly with small cooking facilities) for cold or rainy days. Also a "Campingklause" with a small food and drink offer would further enhance the place.
