"beautiful campsite - The campsite itself met our expectations perfectly: well maintained, pleasantly small, friendly team. The sanitary facilities are clean and there is also a spacious lounge with small snacks and a huge TV. As expected, there wasn't much going on at the beginning of September and everything was very relaxed. We had booked a woodcube that was only completed later in the year, so it was practically brand new. We were really looking forward to the small veranda to spend late summer evenings there. Unfortunately, as it was raining, it wasn't very usable: The roof is a bit short, so you don't really stay dry even in light rain. The veranda of our Cube also sloped towards the door, so the water collected in front of the door. The region is scenically beautiful and invites you to go cycling and hiking, but the town of Sachsenburg itself offers very little. An inn with traditional cuisine, a café-bar, a grocery store and an ATM are centrally located. But there is not much more. Very disappointing - even if this has nothing to do with the campsite - was a short walk up the "local mountain", the castle hike: the path was very unkempt and even when you reach the first tower, it looks as if the work had been stopped overnight and a long time ago. It is particularly disappointing because it was an EU Leader project to enhance Sachsenburg as a tourist destination. Our verdict: a nice little campsite, also well suited for a stopover on the way south or on the way back.

"Camping Drautal - Reception is only staffed in the morning and evening, unbureaucratic telephone registration and information. (no reply to email via homepage) Free choice of pitches, sufficiently large pitches, some trees for shade, good access and everything fairly level. Nice, modern and clean sanitary building. Located directly on the Drau near the sports field. Town with restaurants and a well-stocked grocery store a 5-minute walk away, with a large selection of baked goods. The campsite is quiet (only about a third full during our stay), train noises not disturbing as the Drau is in between. Access to the Drau cycle path in Sachsenburg. Insider tip: Take the train up to Lienz and cycle back, 63 km. We felt very comfortable.

"Very nice and clean - Our pitch was very large and well maintained. The sanitary building is relatively new and was always clean. The reception was friendly and answered our questions to our satisfaction. There are two adjoining soccer pitches which our 2 boys (6+9 years) actively used with the other children from the campsite. We can therefore recommend the campsite without reservation.

With us, comfort and family are in the foreground. All our pitches have electricity and TV satellite connection as well as free Wi-Fi access. For all active holidaymakers, there is a tennis court and a ball court, and our younger …guests can let off steam in the spacious children's playground. In addition to the cosy lounge with reading corner, indoor table tennis and table football (foosball table), our guests can also use the lockable bicycle storage room and our own boat landing bay. Our modern sanitary facilities, for which we received a special award from the ADAC, are also equipped with a toddler bath and changing tables. Admission to the adventure swimming pool, a 10-minute walk away, is free of charge for our camping guests. Stepless entrances, wide corridors and special sanitary rooms enable people with disabilities and their companions to enjoy a carefree stay. Modern, family-friendly campsite with 80 pitches on the banks of the Drava - in the area of the Sachsenburg leisure complex (3 minutes' walk to the centre of the village). Free guided mountain hikes, cycling or mountain bike tours and boat trips. Free use of the solar-heated adventure swimming pool and tennis court! Modern sanitary facilities with baby wash and nappy-changing room. The historic village of Sachsenburg is located directly on the Drava cycle path and is an ideal starting point for countless holiday activities due to its central location in the middle of the Upper Carinthian mountain and lake region.
