Wonderful stay at the Mainkur campsite near Frankfurt am Main
We felt very comfortable at the Mainkur campsite from the very first minute. We would particularly like to emphasize the warm and friendly manner of the Borgstedt family. You immediately notice that they work with a lot of commitment, hospitality and passion.
The site is well-kept, clean and excellently... organized. The sanitary facilities were tidy and clean at all times, the catering worked perfectly and the atmosphere was pleasantly calm and relaxed. Despite the proximity to Frankfurt, we were able to switch off wonderfully and at the same time easily reach the city and the surrounding area.
We particularly liked the fact that you don't just feel like a guest here, but are really welcome. Questions were always answered in a friendly manner and you always had the feeling that the well-being of the guests came first.
Many thanks to the Borgstedt family for a great stay. We would love to come back and can recommend the Mainkur campsite without reservation!

Beautiful place on the outskirts of Frankfurt
We stayed at the campsite for a week in April 2026. It was our first visit there.

We had a premium pitch with electricity, fresh water and waste water. The site is fenced, has a well-kept lawn and is mostly flat.

The team is always friendly and helpful. There is a small store with the essentials and... a bread roll service.

The sanitary facilities are modern and clean.

The location on the outskirts of Frankfurt makes shopping and sightseeing easy. The city center is easily accessible by bike, public transport or car.
There are supermarkets, DIY stores and bakeries and butchers nearby in Rumpenheim.

The site is located between the railroad, the road and the River Main as well as the approach path of the airport.
Depending on the time of day and the direction of the wind, you can hear the noise. But it's never too loud, we like to call it the background noise of a big city.

All in all, we will definitely come back here, because as Frankfurters we can quickly take a little break.

Beautiful site right on the Main with good transport links (approx. 1.5 km) to Frankfurt.
Modern and clean site with appropriate sanitary facilities and nice owners.
It is also in a rural enough location to make a walk on the other side of the Main worthwhile.
The store could still be expanded ;)

We really enjoyed our stay at the not-too-large campsite, so we extended our stay for another 3 days, which was made possible without any complications. You can tell that the owner family are also campers themselves.
Despite its proximity to the city, the site offers plenty of greenery and spacious pitches... with a view of the River Main, which is only separated by a cycle path. The four-lane main road on the other side is separated from the site by a green belt. Of course you can hear traffic noise, but it is surprisingly muffled. This wasn't too disturbing, especially as you could already see from the road map when you chose the campsite that it would hardly be quiet there.
The site is completely fenced in. Each camping guest is given a key so that the gates remain locked at all times and no unauthorized persons can enter the site. For a site in an urban environment and located on a main thoroughfare, we found this to be an extra level of security, for which we were happy to accept the minor inconveniences when leaving and entering.
From the campsite, we recommend beautiful bike rides on both sides of the Main, and the city center of Frankfurt is about 13 km away and can be reached quickly by bike.
The washrooms and showers are of recent date and have been elegantly refurbished, while the toilets are somewhat older and located in a separate building. But these are also good and always clean. The number of toilets is a little limited when fully occupied, but you can live with that.
The last part of the access road is only one lane and is also a cycle path, making it difficult for new arrivals to see. However, if you are careful, this should not be a problem for caravans either. We've seen quite different access roads.

Great place for a visit to Frankfurt
A small oasis right at the gates of the Main metropolis. Water connection / waste water connection / electricity on most pitches. Very well-kept and tidy site. Great for guests with dogs... there are several exits to walk your dog (directly on the Main) and you don't have to walk forever across the site into the countryside.

Positive ting
The S-Bahn station can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes. The site is centrally located to Frankfurt and Hanau, both cities are easy to reach by bike. Everything is very clean and the site is in very good condition. The pitches are large enough with a view of the Main.
Negative ting
The country road is nearby, although the noise can also be interpreted as the sound of the sea.
Short trip to the Main Valley
The owners gave us a friendly welcome, even during the day you can always see them looking after things. Simply perfect.

I stayed at the site for 3 nights with the caravan on the return journey. See the place also rather for short overnight stays than for a longer stay
Unfortunately, there is no restaurant on the site and not much that is useful in the immediate vicinity
However, you can cycle directly along the Main to Frankfurt (approx. 14 km)
Nevertheless, the place has something, I think I will certainly stop there again sometime on a return trip

The access road to the site is an imposition and has nothing to do with narrow. If two drivers meet there, it's the end! Especially as the departures are not completed by 11.00 a.m., so that arriving drivers should not have any oncoming traffic from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. The lunch time from 12.00... to 15.00 is completely antiquated. The pitch is tubular and uneven on grass. For a pitch with electricity, 6 kw/h per day, this pitch is overpriced. The busy main road can also be heard at night. Sanitary facilities only at the entrance area, longer distances depending on the pitch. 5 showers each for men and women and WC for women 4 for men 3 are tightly dimensioned for the pitch occupancy, but were clean.
There is probably a train connection to Frankfurt, which could make this site more attractive.

Very nice small campsite on the Main
We received a very friendly welcome and were briefly told everything we needed to know. Our pitch was directly in sight of the Main, separated only by a cycle path.
The sanitary facilities and washing and shower rooms are all clean. The entire site is in a well-kept condition.
On our pitch you could... hear the road a little, but so little that the songbirds on the pitch were "louder". You could also hear the airplanes, but we didn't find this disturbing either.

Location, sanitary facilities, site operator, cleanliness, everything was great We didn't find the traffic noise behind us disturbing, especially as there was plenty of "action" on the water. One more comment: If you are planning a longer stay (the prices allow for this), you should stock up on enough food beforehand. There is not much variety in the kiosk. The security on the site should be emphasized.

We were here to visit Frankfurt Zoo, about 13km from the pitch, which is very easy to reach by bike. The entire campsite is clean and first choice, WLAN was just being set up and further enhances the site. The sanitary facilities were always clean. My rating: highly recommended
