Positive ting
Beautifully located, very clean, swimming area, boat launch sites
Negative ting
Some of the parking spaces are a bit on the small side.
A quiet campground in a beautiful location right on the Main River
The Ankergrund Campground is located on a tributary of the Main River. There are quite a few campsites right on the water; some are shaded, and others are sunny. The large, new washhouse is well-equipped, and everything works well. It was striking how clean everything is. High praise here. There are... several docks along the water for launching boats, as well as a swimming area with a lawn for sunbathing, a beach, and a dock. At the reception desk, you can get small snacks and drinks during opening hours. There’s also a small selection of basic necessities. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the town of Volkach, where there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. You can set out on bike rides and hikes directly from the campground.

Positive ting
Our site, number 41, was nicely shaded. The rolls are delicious. Not too many dogs. Quiet nights. Clean restroom facilities. The dishwashing area, too.
Negative ting
Very poor cell phone reception.
Hot Summer Days
Last-minute reservation and easy selection of a campsite. It’s a wonderful walk to Volkach, and the bike paths are also easily accessible right from the campground. We enjoyed our stay once again and would highly recommend this campground.

Positive ting
A beautifully situated spot, right on the Main River. Great cycling opportunities.
Negative ting
It was 36 degrees, all the cars were open, and the neighbor started grilling with charcoal. Impossible. The smoke drifted into the open cars. Grilling with charcoal just doesn't work, especially in this weather.
The First Time
What can I say? Everything's great so far.
The park owners should really ban the charcoal grill.

Favorite place
We came across the Ankergrund campsite by chance. We knew Volkach, but this was our first time at the Ankergrund campsite and the registration was straightforward and we were able to choose a pitch at our leisure. The site is quiet. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained and comfortable. The range of restaurants on site is reasonable. Otherwise, you can walk to the center of town in 15 minutes.

Positive ting
Sanitary building is TOP and centrally located on the site. Old town Volkach worth a visit. Excursions in all directions easily possible
Negative ting
There is currently nothing to say
Second time here, but not the last....
Uncomplicated as it should be. Very friendly and open-minded staff and owners. For late arrivals, a parking space including electricity is available in front of the barrier. Arrive, plug in the electricity, register in the morning, done :-)

This is the second time we have visited the site because it... is in a very idyllic location and the town center of Volkach is only a few hundred meters away.

Not just for passing through, but also very suitable for a longer stay.

We will certainly be back....

Positive ting
The location on the Main and to the old town of Volkach, the size of the pitches, cleanliness, courteous and friendly owner and staff, modern sanitary building.
Negative ting
Showers only with tokens, WiFi for a fee and only a small data volume per day, sanitary building - especially the toilets are not ventilated enough. The food on offer in the beer garden.
Nice campsite, but room for improvement
The Ankergrund campsite is a beautiful, spacious campsite. The pitches directly on the Main are particularly great. The new sanitary building is modern and well equipped, but unfortunately it is not sufficiently ventilated. The fact that WLAN and showers are only available for an additional fee is no... longer in keeping with the times. It would be better to increase the pitch fee by €5. The beer garden is a nice meeting place, but..... the food on offer is not fresh and there is no indication that the pizzas come from the freezer. It is certainly difficult to run a restaurant on the side or leave it to a tenant. But then please point out that ready meals are offered here. The "pinsa" I ate was everything but pinsa.

The great location, you can leave your car parked and you can get everywhere by bike.
Negative ting
The shower token 5 minutes for 1€
Beautifully situated directly on the Main
This was our second time on the site and we really enjoyed it again. The reservation also went very well, the pitch was large and had all the connections (top). The staff are always friendly. The only thing we didn't quite like is that you have to buy a shower token from the machine.
Otherwise everything was clean.
We will definitely be back again.

Positive ting
- Sanitary facilities very clean, enough space - Staff very friendly and uncomplicated - beautiful location - cozy, quiet, you can relax and have a drink or eat in the beer garden
Negative ting
- It was very windy at times, but of course the campsite can't help that. On the Main, however, the wind was quite noticeable.
Very nice, good location and friendly people
We discovered this campsite by chance and were really impressed. We were able to reserve 2 nights without having to book in advance (as we were there at the end of the season, at the beginning/mid-September) and it was very straightforward. The toilet facilities and showers are clean. There were enough... cabins and plenty of space. This is exactly how we imagined it.
We noticed that it was mainly senior citizens camping here, but that didn't bother us (a young couple). The main thing was that everyone was nice!
We can definitely imagine coming here again if we are drawn to this region.

Campsite
We liked the campsite very much. Cleanliness, quiet, beautiful location. We had a pitch right by the water. You don't necessarily need your own satellite antenna on the site, there are communal antennas everywhere that can be connected from the plug column...Toilet cassettes can be emptied cleanly and... odorlessly at modern emptying columns. Everything else positive has already been mentioned here many times...everything is at the highest level...Our verdict after 40 years of camping.

Showers with wash marks
Beautiful campsite on the Main
Beautifully situated campsite on the Main. The campsite is upmarket with its facilities, sanitary facilities are very spacious, modern and clean. Showers cost 1 euro for 5 minutes, but you get a rainforest shower. The pitch was big enough for our Fendt 445 caravan incl. awning, water and waste water connections were available.
The site also has a mooring for boats and a sandy beach.
We were on the site with 3 hunting dogs, very dog-friendly.

Positive ting
Good location for hiking and e-bike tours, high sanitary comfort
Negative ting
Pitch infrastructure and pitch lighting have room for improvement
Beautiful place on the Mainschleife
It was our first time on the course. The site is clearly laid out and is located directly on the Main River just outside the town near a sports facility. The comfort pitch RA 2 we booked is laid out with concrete slabs in the awning area. Basically positive, but now getting on in years.
Of the two sanitary... buildings, we used the building on stilts. It is very comfortable and the large showers and individual wash cubicles are particularly positive. As the pitch was always 100% full during our stay, a second cleaning service in the sanitary building would have been advisable. The pitch lighting is good at the back of the comfort pitches, but you need a flashlight at the front and on the way to the sanitary building unless the moon is shining. The staircase to the stilt sanitary building is illuminated from above by a spotlight. This creates shadows when walking down, which can be particularly irritating for spectacle wearers. Glare-free lighting would be desirable here.
We always received friendly and customer-oriented service at reception; the bread roll service was perfect. Overall, a recommendable place that we will visit again. However, the price-performance ratio of EUR 34.50 for two people without electricity and shower tokens (EUR 1.00) is almost borderline compared to other comfortable campsites.

Negative ting
no disadvantages for us personally
simply great
Very, very nice operators, very, very nice team,
the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities cannot be surpassed;
the store offers everything you need as a camper, the bread roll service via app with ordering for the entire time is a very helpful service for all forgetful people.
In short: nothing is left to be desired.
We always enjoy coming back to Volkach

Dreamlike place to feel good
We have been to Ankergrund X times and have been very satisfied every time. Especially when you get a spot on the Main. The town of Volkach also offers a lot of interesting things, especially gastronomically. The surroundings are brilliant for rafting.

Very friendly operators and staff. Sanitary facilities very modern and clean with plenty of coat hooks and shelves. Very nice location on the Main Very quiet as there are no busy roads nearby Good offer in the store and bread rolls from the bakery
Negative ting

Very pleasant campsite
We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be back. We found the pitches big enough and the concrete slabs didn't bother us either. We were able to pitch our awning without any problems. However, it could be problematic for oversized caravans and motorhomes if you want to stand directly on the... shore. The operators are always friendly and helpful. The store has everything campers might need. Supermarkets are just a few minutes away by car. You can hike directly from the site into the vineyards or cycle along the Main. The site is in a very quiet location, with ducks, swans and boats swimming past on the Main. Very relaxing.

Very good location, directly on the Main and you are quickly in town.
Negative ting
Sanitary building very high. Lots of dogs, even off the lead.
Beautiful vacation
We stayed at the campsite in October. It is in a great location. You can take a lovely walk through the vineyards. The town of Volkach is also only a few minutes' walk away. It's a very nice old town with lots of wine bars. We visited the town often. What bothered us at the campsite were the many dogs,... which were not on a lead and sometimes frightened us. The sanitary building is very nice and clean, but it is not at all suitable for someone with a fear of heights. Unfortunately, I always had to overcome myself to go up there. Only these washrooms were open at the time. But we really enjoyed this vacation. We can only recommend the campsite because of its great location.
