A beautiful location with a view of the mountains. A lovely little river runs alongside the campground. Nice, clean restrooms. Wonderful hiking in the area. Free bus rides and mountain lifts.

Wonderful campground
We enjoyed our vacation in the Kleinwalsertal.
The surroundings are beautiful—green alpine meadows with gorgeous flowers, really charming alpine huts, and delicious food. Our favorite was the mountain cheese from Käsestadl in Hirschegg.
We also enjoyed the campground with its view of the mountains and its excellent restroom facilities.

Great location, a cozy campground run with a lot of care. Very clean restrooms. Exemplary sustainability down to the smallest detail. Incredibly delicious, homemade food at reasonable prices. It was our first time there, and it certainly won’t be our last.

A sign pointing to the entrance to the campground would be great, but it's not a big deal—the road ends in about 500 meters, and you'll automatically turn back 😉

The location is great. There's a bus stop right outside the door.

Too many dogs. Even in areas where dogs aren't allowed. I specifically chose a more expensive spot, away from the dogs, but even there, dogs were staying everywhere. I don't think that's right.

Poor Wi-Fi, not enough water stations, poorly organized electrical outlets with meters, no facilities for dogs, not enough restroom facilities, poor value for money, unsolicited tourist tax package, absolutely no privacy at the campsites
Overrated and too expensive
Upon arrival, you’re strictly assigned a spot; the spots are boring and offer little privacy, there aren’t enough water stations and they’re too far away, the electrical boxes are also illogically distributed, and they have a meter that tracks usage, so you’ll end up with extra charges afterward. The... restrooms are clean and hygienic but there aren’t enough of them. There are no facilities for dogs. You have no choice regarding the service package—it’s mandatory even if you don’t use it. The food tasted good and the bread service was also excellent; you should only come here for the nature and peace and quiet. As an experienced camper, I find this campground overrated and too expensive.

The site is laid out so that everyone—even those with RVs—has enough space to feel comfortable!

Relax in the heart of the mountains!
We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again in the fall! Thanks to the guest card, we didn't need a car, and it was perfect for taking the lifts up into the mountains!

A dreamlike location surrounded by nature
This was our seventh time at the Vorderboden campground, and of course there’s a good reason for that. It’s still our absolute favorite spot. It’s in a very beautiful, idyllic location right in the heart of the Kleinwalsertal valley. It’s a great starting point for various hikes and bike rides. The food... at the campground is very good, and the restrooms are always exceptionally clean (though during peak times, there could be a few more toilets and showers available).
Thanks to the free shuttle bus, you don’t really need your own car for the entire stay and don’t have to move it at all.
An all-around wonderful vacation, thanks in part to the very friendly and welcoming team at Camping Vorderboden. We’ll definitely be back!

Great campground with a beautiful mountain view...sun and shade...a little stream runs alongside it, and a nice hiking trail leads to Baad or even to Mittelberg....A bus runs every 10 minutes in both directions right in front of the campground... It’s free with the visitor’s card, as are the mountain... railways... The restrooms and the entire campground were very clean...The manager and staff are so friendly and have a cheerful demeanor... There’s also a restaurant, and you can get takeout... There’s a small shop there, too... It has everything you need. That’s all you need... We’ll definitely be back.

A great place for an active vacation in the Kleinwalsertal
The campground is usually fully booked, and rightly so, which is why we booked six months in advance. We were able to shorten our stay by one day due to a scheduling conflict without any issues. We really liked the always clean, modern restrooms, the consistently friendly and helpful staff, the bread... roll service, and the large campsites (with electricity close by). Not all sites have a direct view of the mountains. Despite being fully booked, it was always quiet. At just under €90 per night for three people (including visitor’s tax; children 14 and older pay full price), the price seems steep at first, but if you use the mountain railways and buses included in the price with the AllgäuWalserCard, you recoup the cost with just one mountain railway ride per day, and the other sites in the Kleinwalsertal are in the same price range. The Wi-Fi signal was quite strong everywhere, though the data speed did drop a bit at times when we had bad weather during the day and, as a result, many campers were on the site. There’s a bus stop right across from the campground; bus line 1 runs every 20 minutes during the day.

This was our third time at the campground. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck when we arrived—they wanted to put us way out in the boonies, but after we complained, they worked with us. We had to move twice before we finally found the right spot. It was a bit chaotic.

To many pitches are to close together that makes it much to crowded. When you're staying in the back, three toilets is not enough for all the visitors. Especially in the mornings there is a waiting que. Also there should be showers in the back area.
