We were able to relax there from Friday through Sunday at a truly wonderful spot.
When we made the reservation, we asked for a secluded spot because of our dog, who still has to get used to camping. Even during the booking process, we had a good feeling and felt that all our requests (quiet, space on... the lawn for a 10.5-meter RV, and a late checkout) were taken seriously, and we were provided with information in a very friendly manner.
Upon arrival, we were escorted to a meadow with beautiful old trees and were allowed to park however we wanted. A 16A power supply was available, and we ordered bread rolls for the next day in no time. At night, depending on the wind direction, you can hear a few planes from Cologne/Bonn Airport, but otherwise just birds chirping and nothing else. From the campsite, we were able to take the dog for several walks, and if the Sieg River hadn’t been so shallow and covered in algae due to the dry weather, we could have even gone fishing for dinner right nearby. We also really appreciated—even though we’re dog owners ourselves—that there wasn’t any constant barking at the campsite. We’ve had other unpleasant experiences in the past that also stressed out our dog. The campground operators, Nicole and Christoph, were always there for us to address any concerns, and even a chat with Nicole after breakfast by our RV was very pleasant.
On the second evening, a small group of young people arrived; they simply engaged in a few sports activities on the lawn next to us and didn’t cause any commotion. We also barely noticed the wedding celebration at the barbecue hut in the entrance area—which the site operators had mentioned beforehand—since we were parked off to the side and sleep with earplugs at night anyway. The long-term campers around us were spread out in our area behind hedges and were super nice!
We can’t comment on the restroom facilities, since we’re self-sufficient except for electricity and didn’t use them.

This is the second time we've been here with a group. And we liked it so much that we'll be back again at Whitsun. As a group you can rent a barbecue hut. The sanitary facilities are always excellent. Beautiful places to go for a walk.
Negative ting
I can't think of any
A very nice place
We liked it very much. We will definitely be back. The restaurant opens again on 01.05. Chalets can also be rented.

Positive ting
Large well-kept place, quiet location
Negative ting
Place is a little crooked.
Leisure time in the oak forest
Even if the offer allows a place with a dog, in my opinion this is not an advantage for an event organized by dog clubs. Guests who do not like dogs and come into contact with them during the day because of the dog event and the lack of leadership quality of the owners, it comes to unpleasant encounters at the place, restaurant. My personal opinion.

Positive ting
- the chalet - the peace and quiet - the sanitary building - the hiking trails nearby - the friendliness of the hosts - the neighboring restaurant
Negative ting
- the poor public transport connections at the weekend
Three wonderful days in Wisserland
I really liked the chalets for hikes and excursions for our small hiking group, which was on tour without a motorhome or tent.

Firecracker-free place on New Year's Eve
There were two of us with a dog in one of the hiking rooms over New Year's Eve. The room is centrally located and right next to the sanitary facilities, which were always clean. The room was also clean and comfortable. Firework-free zone throughout the site, which was very beneficial for our dog. Very nice and competent staff. There was a cozy party on New Year's Eve. Arrival and departure was quick and uncomplicated.

Positive ting
Peace, relaxation, nature, WLAN, centrally located to explore many sights in the region. Very good service
Negative ting
Actually you should write, unfortunately there is no bread service in the winter months. We can't do that, the operators fetched bread rolls for the guests who were there.
Beautifully idyllic, here you can slow down
Due to repair work on our WW we camped in a different way. You could say we had a glamping vacation here.

We spent a good week in one of the beautiful chalets. 2 adults, 1 teenager. We had a super friendly welcome, everything was explained to us and we were given lots of information about the area....
The chalet had everything you need for a stress-free vacation. Modern furnishings and equipped with everything.
Coffee machine, toaster, microwave, pots and pans, crockery etc. Even a large and a small towel and toilet paper for everyone :)
The beds were made and comfortable.
We were able to borrow games from the office.
The place is spacious and has a great old tree population. (We will definitely come back when the oaks have leaves)
What is important for us as campers .... There is a beautiful modern sanitary building with warm underfloor heating, just right for the weather.
The sinks are indoors. What we really liked here was the bookshelf. Here you could borrow books or take them with you. And if you have one left over, you can put it on the shelf for the next one.

There is a dog shower at the back and a station for fresh and gray water and a disposal facility for chemical toilets.

The surrounding area is really good for short or long hikes. There are great, challenging trails directly from the site. The robber trail with its fun tasks is suitable for young and old. We are now robbers with a diploma. You get this at the office when you have completed all the tasks. :)
The Auenlandweg is also well worth a visit.

There is a nice village 4 km away with lots of shops.
There are some sights in the area that were worth visiting. There are 2 swimming pools within 10 km. Both with a nice sauna.
This place must be recommended. We say thank you and would love to come back.

Positive ting
Nice, quiet, free choice of seats, great bread roll service
Negative ting
Storage facilities, hooks and shelves are missing in the sanitary building (but that's no reason not to go there)
Friendly and very uncomplicated
We spent a weekend here, were allowed to check in at 7pm on Fridays, were able to order bread rolls for the next day and had free choice of pitch. The pitches are a little uneven in places, but that's not a problem. The wash house is modern, the toilet cubicles are large, there are several wash places... next to each other and a single wash cubicle as well as several large shower cubicles. In the showers, it would be nice to have a storage space for shower utensils, as well as a few hooks for towels near the washing areas. But this is apparently being planned. There are washing machines and dryers and plenty of washing-up areas in the building. You only have to leave the pitch by 1 pm on departure. That's great. However, it is also possible to leave later if you pay half the daily rate, so that you can still use the day or possibly dry a tent if the journey home doesn't take that long.
At the reception you can buy small items for your daily (camping) needs, chilled drinks and also bread toppings and venison sausage were available.
Booking and payment were very straightforward, and electricity, showers and garbage were included in the price.
We will be back.

Hiking - rest - relaxation
A really good place: lots of oak trees, lots of meadows, plenty of space and a great landscape all around that invites you to hike and look around. A large playground for children and friendly, competent staff. And also inspired by ecological sustainability. Highly recommended for those who (not only in times of pandemic) want tourism to be a little gentler.

There are no downsides!
Quiet, clean campsite, beautiful nature, many hiking trails, friendly people
We enjoyed our stay in the Ferienwohnung. We saw the squirrels from our window. Were awakened in the morning by birdsong. From the campground go several hiking trails, and close by are also many hiking opportunities. We will definitely come back!

Disposal for the cassette toilets could be brought up to date
Nice friendly operator
On Father's Day 2018, we used this site for a short trip to test it for a camper meeting in the fall. The reception was friendly and we were directed to the pitch we had chosen. In general, the place was nice and quiet and under the ancient oaks you are really idyllic. Despite being 12 years old, the... sanitary building was well maintained and kept in good condition. It was always clean and attractive even though there were about 200 bikers from the Netherlands there this weekend in addition to the normal guests. Of course there was a traffic jam in the sani in the morning and evening. The hiking possibilities are beautiful in the surrounding area and if you are already there you should not miss the tour "Weltende" from Stein-Wingert. Unfortunately we couldn't try the adjacent restaurant as we were turned away on 2 consecutive days because of the bikers who were being catered for there, even though the normal opening hours were posted. For us another reason to play self-catering in the future because we will gladly book the place again privately.
