Small but nice family place
This small, family-run campsite is located in the very small village of La Garandie in the middle of the Auvergne volcano chain. From there, there are good excursion possibilities to Clermont-Ferrand, the Puy-de-Dome, Volvic, St. Nectaire and the volcanic landscape around the Puy-de-Sancy. It is slightly... terraced and has a good lawn. There is little or no shade on either side of the site, while the central area is well shaded. The site has a good swimming pool, washing machines and dryers. A snack bar is open in high season. In reception there is a small epicerie with the essentials and a selection of regional products. There is a bread service. The sanitary facilities are tidy and very clean. In the low season, only the ladies' sanitary facilities are operated as mixed sanitary facilities; however, this is not a problem as - in addition to toilets and showers - there are also lockable washing cubicles. WLAN is available and very well developed, but clearly too expensive (€5/day). The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. The site is very quiet and is also ideal for a longer stay.
