Positive ting
CP clean, well-kept and very child-friendly.
Negative ting
Supermarket a bit dingy and quite expensive, doesn't fit in with the rest of the campsite.
Well-kept CP in Locarno
The campsite is lovingly maintained and the staff are very friendly. Everything is as it should be. The rear area is park-like with access to the lake and a small sandy beach. The rental caravans are as good as new and over 8 meters long (Dethleffs camper), the awning rather simple but functional. The... two playgrounds are also very clean and popular with the children. Sanitary facilities are clean and central. The Ticino Ticket is provided free of charge and you can use it to travel on public transport throughout the canton of Ticino. We liked it at Camping Delta and will be back again.

Positive ting
The location directly on the lake with swimming opportunities is very nice. You can get to Locarno and Ascona quickly by bike.
Negative ting
We arrived spontaneously in the high season. We had to pay the equivalent of €190 for two nights. It didn't bother us that we had to change pitches on the second day, but both pitches were extremely small and the paths and crossings were narrow. Access to the lake is closed off at night and only opened at 8:00 in the morning. If you want to watch a beautiful sunrise on the lake, you have to look through the fence.
Beautiful, but simply too expensive
The area for permanent campers and the higher-priced pitches are more spacious. But the large number of campers pay a high price for little space of their own. For us, the price-performance ratio was not right.

Positive ting
Location directly on the lake and Locarno Pizza in the restaurant!
Negative ting
Cleanliness of the sanitary buildings could be a little better in high season. No gray water sink on the pitch or nearby
Nice place if you don't expect too much
We spent our summer vacation here this year. The site is beautifully situated on the lake and you have good access to the water. The site is also very well maintained! The staff were very nice! The pitches are a bit cramped depending on the location but sufficient. Unfortunately there is only electricity... on the pitch, even on the "better" pitches there are only water taps and no direct outlets on the pitch or at the taps. You also have to bear in mind that you have to walk long distances to dispose of waste, depending on the location.
We liked the fact that the night's rest is respected and that most people are at least considerate of each other.
The sanitary facilities are spartan but adequate. Unfortunately, they were always being cleaned during the main toilet times so that there was congestion in the other toilets. Also, the showers were not always clean at peak times. The pizza in the restaurant was great! And the bread rolls were delicious. You can explore and discover a lot around here. If you don't always look very closely, the place is really nice and you can have a good vacation and relax here! We would love to come back!

Positive ting
Beautiful location, which is exploited for capitalist purposes.
Negative ting
They know that they have a monopoly. Accordingly, they seem to be able to do whatever they want. Service/price - bottom drawer
Overpriced, inflexible and absolutely not recommended for motorcycle travelers
I have been traveling by motorcycle and tent for over 25 years and have experienced many campsites around the world. Unfortunately, the Delta campsite in Locarno is a negative exception for me.

Motorcyclists are not allowed to ride their bikes onto the site. I had to unload all my luggage, load it onto... a trolley and carry it on foot across the large site to the tent pitch. And that on the day of arrival and departure, even in the pouring rain. Despite polite suggestions, such as briefly opening the nearby gate or pushing my motorcycle by hand, there was no exception or goodwill.

Interestingly, there are huge luxury motorhomes parked behind the gate that cannot possibly fit over the main entrance. I'm sure they are allowed to use the gate. At the same time, cars, e-scooters and bicycles drive freely around the site. This unequal treatment clearly feels discriminatory to me.

The tent meadow was listed as full, although it was almost empty when I arrived and didn't fill up the next day either. Directly behind it is a large, unused area that could easily have been used as a motorcycle parking lot. However, a simple and logical solution was rejected.

The employee at reception had to deal with my frustration, although she only implements instructions. My anger is directed at the management, who score points with rigid rules and customer unfriendliness.

I paid 84 francs for one night with a tent and one person, with no electricity, no service and no flexibility. The price-performance ratio is unacceptable to me.

The restaurant was barely occupied, but there was no service at all. Further evidence of a lack of service at high prices.

The campsite exploits the attractive location in Locarno and access to the lake to make maximum profit. Obviously at the expense of individual travelers and motorcyclists. I will never stay there again and recommend that you urgently reconsider such rules.

Positive ting
Very nice and quiet location, quick and unbureaucratic check-in. Versatile pitches. Spacious store, very fine and Mediterranean restaurant, great excursions in Bella Ticino, dog-free CP
Negative ting
Many campers still use construction plastic under the camping carpet. This completely destroys the vegetation. This urgently needs to be remedied.
A safe value in Ticino
We have been visiting this paradisiacal campsite since the 1980s. Checking in is quick and completely unbureaucratic (we have a reservation for 3 nights). The shady spot on the peninsula is ideal in high summer. We had about 24° Celsius). The pitches are spacious, even for larger motorhomes and caravans.... The store is very well stocked and has generous opening hours. The absolute hit is the camp's own restaurant, which has been run by the same owners for 38 years. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine and fresh products. The quality is of a high standard.
The only thing I can't understand is that they still accept construction plastic for the awnings. X years ago I wrote about this shortcoming on this site and was given a beautiful CD by the operator at the time. It is imperative that a remedy is found here. Vegetation has a particularly hard time thriving in the dry conditions in Ticino. The vegetation is radically destroyed by building plastic on the ground.
The site is completely dog-free, which we see as a big plus.

Disappointed by the campsite
We stayed in a rental caravan from May 15 - 21. We were very disappointed with this stay.
On their home page they write about 15 luxuriously equipped caravans. But we understand luxurious in a completely different way. We have been campers for about 50 years and have seen many campsites and rental properties.... However, the rental properties offered by Camping Delta do not meet the requirements. In our rental caravan, the blinds and curtains were defective, the entrance door was jammed and could only be opened by force in some cases. What should not be missing in a "luxuriously" equipped caravan is a toilet. But this was removed. If there is no toilet in the caravan, these rental properties should be closer to the sanitary facilities. The fridge in the caravan was not connected and therefore not usable. There was a fridge in the awning, but not enough in hot weather. We expect from a campsite operator that the awning is set up professionally, which was not the case here (dirty, moldy, awning partially sagged). We had the feeling that such defects should have been repaired by the start of the season, otherwise these rental properties will no longer be habitable in the foreseeable future (presumably profit is the priority here).
We have made reservations in advance at many campsites in recent years, but nowhere did we have to pay a reservation fee of CHF 50.00, which was not deducted from the final bill (a rip-off!!). The friendliness at reception should also be reconsidered!
Many campsites have benefited greatly from "Corona". But these campsites will certainly come down to earth again.
What was positive about this site, however, were the sanitary facilities. They were very clean.
Conclusion of our stay: We cannot recommend this campsite to others (a shame).

Beautiful furnishings Nice staff Clean sanitary building No leaf blowers..... Crew with brooms on the way👍👍
Negative ting
No handwashing facilities directly by the toilets Long wait at check-in Unfortunately, many put a carpet in front of the camper and destroy patches of grass
Wonderful stay
Congratulations on this beautiful campsite. Good location with bus on the doorstep to explore the towns by public transport. Big advantage: no dogs etc on site. Completely different crowd👍👍
Beautiful plots with trees. Squirrels, ducks and sparrows visit the site. Always clean despite fully booked campsite.... Thanks to the team at reception for their great efforts. Even without a reservation and "Platz-Züglätä" we always got a great pitch.
Large store with a good range. Restaurant with a good offer.
We would love to come back - even spontaneously

Positive ting
The location (plot on the bay) is beautiful. Lots of animals to watch, direct access to the lake. Very quiet. Very clean! Good campsite shop with everything for daily needs and bread until the evening. Super showers with hand shower and lots of hot water. Ticino Ticket for public transport. Everything within walking distance.
Negative ting
Only one counter open at check-in on Saturday in high season. It can easily take an hour or more! Some of the pitches are rather small. There is no washbasin to wash your hands in one of the toilet cubicles. You either have to go to the children's bathroom or wait until a single wash cubicle is free.
Very nice
I recommend the pitches by the bay. They are worth the extra charge (A pitch)! We had pitch 66.

Brilliant location on the Maggia (A pitch) with mature trees. Very nice for swimming in the lake. Very quiet despite the size of the site. Super restaurant, clean sanitary facilities. We think the Ticino Ticket is a hit Public transport right next to the campsite.
Negative ting
Too bad that there is only one sanitary block for the size of the place. In the high season, both reception areas should be serviced. One only for small requests and rental equipment, the other for entry and exit.
Fantastic location
A wonderful vacation in beautiful surroundings. Very good location, you can reach everything on foot or by public transport. Ticino Ticket is great:-)

Positive ting
Great place, with children in the off-season inexpensive for Switzerland, very clean sanitary facilities, beautiful beach with shade, free choice of place, very quiet everything in the evening, little disturbing light which is very rare for campsites. Entire site very well maintained
Negative ting
WLan practically doesn't work, never had it so bad. Staff sometimes incompetent with false statements. At any time of day you had to queue for at least half an hour to pay or ask something. What's it like in the high season? Simply not possible. Only one wash house. Remote, beautiful places far away with children.
Nice place, good location
Everything has already been said in the pros and cons. Overall, we were very happy with the place and would love to come back again

Location, sanitary facilities, restaurant

Price and above all booking fee !
Good but expensive
The site is characterized by its good location between Locarno and Ascona. It has direct access to the lake and the sanitary facilities were always clean. The layout and design of the site are also beautifully laid out. The restaurant on site offers good food.
But beware!: When we made our reservation,... we were charged a processing fee of CHF 50 !!!, which was not even deducted later. This is simply outrageous and unfortunately confirms the preconception that Helvetia is all about collecting money. What a pity.

The campsite is in a great location right on the lake. The caravans are very well equipped and spacious. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities were very clean. You can eat very well in the restaurant and the staff there are also excellent.

Staff very incompetent. If you wait in line (30 minutes) to pick up reserved rental equipment, this is passed on because you were not there on time!!!
Location the best on the square
In addition, you pay about as much here for two nights as in other places for a week.
Some of the pitches are very small. We were here for the last time!

Good location. directly on the lake. Overnight stay possible in front of the campsite
Negative ting
Poor opening hours small pitches and paths. price performance not fully justified. poor network reception only 1 line.
Delta Feedback
The location is really great. You can easily walk into town. it's right on the lake. Opening hours 9-12 and from 14-18 I think is too little. we arrived exactly at 17:59. when the lady saw us, she quickly lowered the shutters right in front of our eyes. after knocking twice, she then told us to come... in and check in the next day. i found that a bit petty. don't work too much. in the men's toilet there is exactly 1 motion sensor for the light. if you have to go out at night for a longer session, you can only hope that you are in the right cabin, otherwise you have lost or have to wait until someone comes in. the pitches and the roads are very small. our 7m long vehicle did not have enough space and still protruded into the road. network reception rather poor with swisscom only 1 line. so for a 5 star camping for me then a little too little and too expensive.

The food in the restaurant there is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We would love to go there again this August.

Not suitable for motorhomes. Very noisy and completely overcrowded.

This was the most expensive campsite on our Grand Tour through Switzerland. The price-performance ratio does not seem justified. At best, the site can score points for its location.
