The restrooms. The site is built on very steep terraces. The pool is quite far away.
A nice place, with some drawbacks
Okay, it’s a 2-star campground. The restrooms were okay and clean, but the showers were really showing their age. The site was very steep. Since our RV is a bit older and doesn’t have much power, we parked all the way at the top because we were afraid we wouldn’t be able to get out otherwise. If you’re... not very mobile, you’re better off staying up near the restrooms. However, it’s quite a long walk to the pool from there. The RV waste disposal station is also all the way down at the bottom. The pool is okay and has a nice view. What’s great—provided you have a way to get around (we brought a scooter)—is that all the well-known cities within a 60-km radius are easily accessible. We visited Siena, Volterra, Florence, and San Gimignano. About 5 km away is a larger town with a big supermarket. And there are some great restaurants in the area.

Very nice tent pitches (all flat), covered seating, very friendly staff (new management), got cold beer as a gift after we arrived late by bike.

New management - great place for campers
Our rescue. We arrived late in the evening by bike. The groundsman gave us his own cold beer because the bar wasn't open yet. The pitches on the terraces are all level, you have a great view, a village with a store is nearby, the sanitary facilities are great (except that you need your own toilet paper).

Electricity under all canons
well, it's just a 21-star place
Idyllic location, cheated view. There are just 2 pitches that offer a view of the valley; the rest is overgrown. The pitches are terraced but very, very small. You are practically standing coupling to coupling. WLAN is only available in the upper region. The staff do not speak German. The offer is mixed.... Every day there is a culinary attraction at a fixed price of €9...10. Very steep pitch, not suitable for large mobile homes. There are acceptable restaurants in the immediate vicinity. You are charged €3 per day for electricity and get a SIX amp fuse. Doesn't work at all. The adjacent road is a bit annoying. The sanitary facilities are old but clean. There are no individual washing cubicles.

Better than expected
As the reviews of this campsite were rather mixed, we had only planned one overnight stay during our Easter vacation. We ended up staying two nights because we really liked it. At the beginning of the Easter vacation we were initially 4, later 8 units. The sanitary facilities were very clean and the... water in the shower was really hot. Even though it was still very cool in the evening, you didn't freeze in the sanitary facilities. The reception was extremely friendly, we received a whole folder with information (sightseeing, leisure activities, restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy in the near and far surroundings...). The bar was open, although not yet well stocked. But soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, Italian breakfast and snacks were available at reasonable prices. The pool was completely dismantled and not all parts of the site were in operation, which was not necessary with the few visitors. However, we wouldn't want to be there in hotter temperatures as there was hardly any shade. It was just great for Easter, with lots of sun. We also had a great view and weren't directly under the high-voltage power line. We'd love to come back in the low season - if only to get rid of the leftover camping cheques.

In the sanitary area, unfortunately not more points, as you had to take your own toilet paper to the toilet. There was also no hot water at the sinks (not even at the hand wash basins!) Unfortunately, the location doesn't score full points either: although it is in the beautiful Chianti region, the high-voltage... power line including a thick high-voltage pylon is located directly on the campsite and partially spoils the breathtaking view. The access road to the pitches is quite steep and was almost our undoing on the descent, as it was steep and partly gravel, the parking situation was worse, so that you could hardly get past it with a camper van. Nevertheless, a good starting point for wine tastings in the surrounding area. Maybe someone will have the guts to develop the typical Spartan-Italian way of running a campsite and set up an upmarket campsite in this beautiful spot. Only this electricity pylon - it made us sleep really badly...

We were there in the low season, we actually wanted to stay 3 nights but after the pool was under construction, the bar was not occupied and it was about 40°C we had to leave after one night. There is too little shade. The view and the surroundings are great. The owners are very interested in informing... their guests about the area. There are suggestions everywhere. Arrival always possible, no annoying barriers, great sanitary facilities, you can often see the attention to detail, very good for those seeking peace and quiet.
