The place is getting more and more dilapidated, the toilets are dilapidated, currently you can only empty the chemical toilet at the campsite entrance which means very long walks. Unfortunately, it is clear that the site is used for weekend parties, almost empty during the week and a bit of a mess at the weekend. Broken bottles at the back of the beach near the campsite, a pity, that used to be different and not safe for children and dogs. The access roads need to be graveled, they have a lot of holes (danger of tripping). Water also collects here when it rains and everything gets dirty.
Unfortunately, it's getting weaker and weaker
We've been coming here on vacation for years, but we're not seen for a long time because the space is needed for the weekends. Maybe you could think about providing a certain number of places for long-term vacationers for 2 to 3 weeks, which are reserved for these vacationers. Surely there are statistics so that this can be organized effectively. If nothing happens here, we won't be going back to the campsite for our vacation, which is a shame.

We try to give every guest a wonderful vacation at the Schwarzfelder Hof. Obviously you were not satisfied with your stay with us. We are sorry for this and would like to address some of your criticisms.
Your travel period was on the last Whitsun holiday weekend, which often means full... occupancy months in advance. We have pitches that can only be booked from 3 or 6 nights. The remaining pitches can be booked at will. The first to book gets the pitch and the travel period according to availability as desired. Reservations can be made 1 year in advance. If you would like to come in the peak travel period, we recommend that you book early so that you can still arrive at the desired time. During the school holidays during the week, the occupancy rate at a children's campsite is of course often correspondingly lower.
As a children's and family campsite, we take great care not to tolerate party groups or similar on the site. Unfortunately, families with children can also leave the sanitary facilities in a mess. We always try to keep everything clean. If you notice any soiling or even dangers, you can come to reception at any time and report this to us. We will take care of it immediately.
The paths are regularly maintained by us, but this is difficult during the vacation season when we are at full capacity. We schedule this work for the quieter times to disturb as few guests as possible during their vacation.
The new sanitary building should be completed in the next few weeks, which will help to improve the sanitary situation.
We would have liked you to have come to us with your criticism, especially if you were a repeat visitor. We would have been able to explain some things to you in a personal conversation and rectify others directly.

We would be happy to convince you of the positive aspects again.

Fantastic for children
I went to the site with my 7-year-old daughter over the long weekend.
It really is a paradise for children who like animals.
Cows/cattle, geese, goats, rabbits, chickens, ponies and horses, 3 farm dogs.
Twice a day the children can feed the animals with the farmer, which is fantastic.
I thought it was... good that the farmer always clearly stated and defined the rules.
The friendliness of all the staff should also be emphasized.
Although there is no restaurant or similar, a pizza van came in the evening throughout the week. We also tried it once and it was very tasty. You can also order freshly butchered steaks and sausages in advance, which were also very tasty.
The bread roll service also worked without any problems, and everything was reasonably priced.
Unfortunately, the otherwise great overall impression was somewhat tarnished by the sanitary facilities, especially in the rear area by the tent meadow. Everything there is built in containers, originally probably only for the weddings in summer, but now probably in permanent use due to the high demand.
Everything is kept clean, but it is simply not up to date. The showers consist of one room, without a partition or the possibility to take off your clothes in such a way that not everything gets wet.
That's a bit of a shame. It should probably be remedied. However, this fact has already been
already criticized in reviews that date back several years.
If you attach great importance to WLAN, you have to be close to reception or bring sufficient data volume with you.
All in all, we liked it very much and we want to come back again. Hopefully something will be done about the sanitary facilities in the near future, then it would be perfect!

A dream for children, not up to date for adults
We've been coming here for a few years now because it's not far away and it's great for our children.

But now, unfortunately, we have to report our negative side, because the sanitary facilities in the containers really don't work.
Unfortunately, there are too few toilets during peak times. 4 in the whole place.

Too good for a stopover
We spent 2 nights at the campsite on our way south, also to have a look at Ulm. The site is close to the highway, but you can't hear anything from it. The pitches are nice and large, the sanitary facilities clean and included in the price. There is no restaurant, but at the weekends there was a pizza... van with good pizzas. The site is beautifully situated in the countryside near an ostrich farm. You can take the dog for a nice walk. The site is great for children, partly because of the lake and partly because of the farm with a play barn and feeding the animals. Ulm is really worth seeing and easy to get to.

Small but nice campsite
We spent a short vacation at this campsite last weekend. We received a very friendly welcome and the whole process was flawless. The campsite is relatively small, but in a very idyllic location. There is a swimming lake where the water depth increases very slowly - ideal for our children. You can order... bread rolls for the following day until 7pm the evening before, there are pony rides for the children and the sanitary facilities were always very clean. Despite the short duration of our stay, we were able to relax very well and plan to return in the future.

Great for families with small children
Great campsite for families with children. We had a pitch right by the quarry pond. Pony rides unfortunately only Mon-Fri, but otherwise there's lots on offer for small children, such as feeding the animals. A visit to the ostrich farm next door is also very worthwhile and it is of course a good starting point for a visit to Legoland. Otherwise, everything is well-kept, clean and quiet.

We would also like to briefly address the disadvantages you mentioned. Normally, the pony rides take place twice a day. Due to the contact restrictions that... had to be observed this year, we were unfortunately unable to offer this as usual and have reduced it to Monday to Friday. The snack bar on our farm is leased and we have passed on your criticism to the tenants. However, changes are planned for the future.

Cyclists with tents are parked on a meadow!
I spent my last night with a tent, out of a total of 6, on this campsite in a meadow without shade, but with plenty of contact with mosquitoes. The offer price for cyclists with a tent was €15. In return, you are parked unkindly next to the nicer pitches with shade. This price was by far the most expensive... of my 6 overnight stays at official campsites on the Danube and the Altmühl. There were no shopping facilities for self-catering. An optional ordering service for bread rolls and barbecue meat was offered. I cannot recommend this campsite for cyclists with a tent.

First of all, we would like to thank you for your feedback and your stay on our farm.
Your travel period was in the middle of the high season, so our campsite was already very well booked. In addition, it was the first weekend of the Bavarian school vacations and due to Corona the rush... was very large, and we also had to make sure that there was enough space between the tents on the tent meadow. You have chosen a pitch at the edge of the tent meadow. What you call a meadow is our flower strip with clover grass and our contribution to insect protection and biodiversity.
On our farm, one of our principles is that no cyclist is turned away, as the nearest tent pitches are a little further away. We apologize that your pitch on our large tent meadow did not meet your requirements. We would have liked you to have come to us directly with your complaints. Shaded pitches are of course possible. Perhaps your stay on our farm could have been made a little more pleasant. As you were obviously not satisfied with your pitch, we would of course have tried to find an alternative. We could also have pointed out to you that we not only offer food for self-catering in our kiosk, but also have a small snack bar on our farm.
Perhaps we will be able to welcome you again another time to convince you of the charm of our nature-loving campsite with farm.

Enchanting relaxation
We are delighted with this campsite!
A gem with large pitches, direct access to the lake, clean facilities, free showers, several barbecue areas, delicious breakfast rolls and plenty of peace and quiet to relax!
For children there is plenty of space, no roads, cows, horses, ponies, goats, rabbits, large... playgrounds and a big play barn!

Bavaria's largest ostrich farm is 5 minutes away by bike. There are 900 ostriches living here and you can buy the best ostrich steaks for the barbecue in the farm store!

We booked again directly at the reception!

Ok for one night, but nothing more!
We stayed on the site for 2 nights to visit LEGOLAND, the site is ok for that, but that was it. Ok, there is a play barn which is well done, pony rides and a few animals. Just like at the Bsuernhof. But the rest is absolutely not good, the pitches have not been mowed for a long time, the grass is 20... cm high, the showers and toilets are in containers under a carport. The second wash house has proper showers but without curtains or anything similar, everything swims afterwards. It also has the charm of a hospital. There is a bread roll service, but the shop/café was somehow always closed. And then the night costs over €35 in October....that doesn't even include WiFi. That costs extra. Price-performance doesn't match here at all.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We try to ensure that every guest has a wonderful vacation and a pleasant time with us at Schwarzfelder Hof. Obviously you were not satisfied with your stay with us. We are sorry about that and would like to address some of your criticisms....
First of all, regarding our pitches, which in your opinion are not mowed, that is correct. These pitches are not allocated in the fall/winter and are currently blocked off and removed from our system. According to our system, you were standing on a paved gravel pitch. So we don't quite understand the criticism of our grass pitches.
We have various showers and toilets in several places on our campsite. The sanitary facilities in the main building are heated all year round and are decorated inside with photographs of the farm. What you are referring to is our summer sanitary building at the tent meadow, which is parked in the fall/winter and serves as an additional supply in the summer and to relieve the peak times in the main season. It is designed for the tent meadow and the group site and is somewhat more rustic.
Our kiosk is open in the morning from 8.00 - 11.00 a.m. to sell bread rolls and for breakfast service and in the evening from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. to sell drinks and meat and sausages for the barbecue evening. If you need anything outside the opening hours, you are welcome to contact the reception.
Now to your accusation that costs and service do not match, we have checked your booking again and have to realize that the amount you mention there does not correspond to what we charge for an overnight stay with your family constellation. Did you perhaps include the dog or the bread rolls?
In addition, every guest receives a free Wi-Fi ticket with a fixed volume rate. If this is not enough, please ask politely at reception for another one.
We would be delighted to welcome you back another time. Perhaps you can take advantage of our full range of services during a longer stay and convince yourself of our concept.

Sleeping in a barrel
We actually only wanted accommodation for the weekend to visit Legoland but if we had known how nice it is here we would have arrived earlier! There is a fridge (bigger than we thought) and an infrared heater that quickly conjures up a pleasant warmth. For children this farm is paradise! Unfortunately... we only had little time for the animals because of the short stay but already the feeding was fun for our children! The play barn is awesome! Great "equipment" and above all mega in shape! The whole farm looks very well maintained and you can tell that children are very welcome :-) The staff is super friendly, we had to rent bed linen at the last minute and that was no problem at all, and our wish to have a look at one of the new vacation homes was fulfilled immediately and we were allowed to take a tour with the friendly cleaning staff, you really never have the feeling that you are disturbing or doing work! We will definitely be back!

Relaxing vacation on the perfect children's farm campsite
We have been to this campsite before, you have to book in advance during the vacations, unless you are traveling with a tent, there is almost always still a place. The barbecue is lit every evening at 6 pm and everyone can prepare their own barbecue. Very cozy and if you don't have a sausage, you can... quickly buy one in the "farm store". Very good! Everything is designed for children, the children are happy and the parents are relaxed. We and especially our children love this place!

This was our 4th time on the site. Each time for 1 night as a stopover to / from Carinthia. The site itself is nice and everyone is extremely friendly. Unfortunately, not all pitches have electricity, which meant that our cable was only just sufficient. The neighbor had a bigger problem. The front sanitary... block is nicely done, but unfortunately a bit too small when the other showers / washing areas are closed. The rear sanitary block is not very nice. Washing / rinsing only outside, WC have the window to the sinks, not exactly pleasant for both sides. However, the price/performance ratio is still okay. We would be happy to come back for a short overnight stay, but for a longer vacation we would rather go to another campsite.

On our farm you will receive electricity on every pitch. If your cable is not sufficient, you can borrow a cable reel free of charge from reception.
Our sanitary... building at the tent meadow is a summer wash house and a temporary solution, we are already planning the construction of a new sanitary building.

First of all, thank you for visiting us. We regret that our homepage has given you a false impression of our farm. We are of the opinion that our homepage conveys a very clear and authentic picture of our farm. If you are not satisfied with anything, it is best to express your criticism... directly to the reception, then the operators can actively do something.
We will now break down your points of criticism individually and answer them.

1st : "However, not suitable for a long vacation for many who only stay 1 or 2 nights"

This is not quite true, we have a very large regular clientele who spend their annual vacation with us on the farm. But of course we are also close to the A7 and A8 motorways, which is why we also have a few transit campers at the beginning and end of the vacations who are on their way south or back. We separate these two groups to ensure that every guest has a quiet night.

2. : "Animation for children only twice a day for 1/2 hour"
This is also not true, we offer pony rides twice a day. You also have the opportunity to help feed our animals twice a day. We also offer various other activities, e.g. free nature tours, craft groups, helping out on the farm, campfires etc.
Add all this together and you have well over half an hour of "animation".

3. "lots of mosquitoes from water and animals"

You have read our homepage carefully. There you can see very clearly that our campsite is located by a natural bathing lake and that the nature reserve is directly adjacent. No matter where you are in Germany, you should always carry insect repellent with you when you are near water. We do a lot to keep the insect pressure on our animals as low as possible by biological means. In addition, there were very few mosquitoes in 2018 due to the drought.

4. "the maximum price of the pitch should be 25 euros for 4 people, not 48 euros"

You don't pay €48 for an overnight stay with us, you may have taken advantage of other services such as bread roll service
We are usually certified as having a very good price-performance ratio. After your above-mentioned points of criticism, we naturally understand that you have the impression that you have paid too much.

Perhaps you will see for yourself on another visit:

- use one of our 100 square meter lakeside pitches in a quiet location
- visit the pony rides and feed the animals
- take part in one of our other activities
- Barbecue our farm produce around the campfire in the evening with other families

Then you will realize that a visit with us is definitely worthwhile.

Family weekend on the farm
In June, we had a very nice camping weekend with several families at Schwarzfelder Hof. We were able to set up our caravans, tents and a pavilion next to each other on the edge of the tent meadow, which was ideal if you are traveling in a group with several caravans and tents. The beach volleyball court,... the very beautiful and warm lake and the sanitary building on the tent meadow were only a few meters away. There is plenty on offer for children: As well as swimming in the lake, they can go pony riding, feed the animals or let off steam in the beautiful play barn. The staff are very friendly and helpful, bread rolls can be ordered in advance and the farm's own grilled meat can be purchased. Pitches for caravans are generously sized, but depending on the pitch, 25m of cable may not be enough to reach the nearest power point. Extensions can be borrowed from reception. All in all, a lovely farm campsite for a summer weekend with lots of opportunities for children and ideal for a group. For a longer stay, however, more comfortable sanitary facilities would be desirable. The main sanitary building is functional, the temporary sanitary building on the tent meadow is only used to relieve the main sanitary building, according to the operator family. Toothbrush basins, toilets, flushing areas and chemical toilet sinks are located close together here, along with the corresponding noises and smells. There are no proper washbasins with mirrors. As the site is very popular and is often fully booked in summer, it would not be a bad idea to replace the makeshift facilities with an official wash house that is up to date.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and constructive criticism. We think it is very good that you have also presented your points of criticism to our reception team in person.
We are glad that you and your relatives enjoyed your stay at our farm. The fact that you liked our offer... with swimming lake, play barn, pony rides and animal feeding encourages us to continue in this way. Our team was also very pleased about your praise.

Regarding your criticism that our main path is not paved, the reason is as follows. We have a building specification from the district office which stipulates a gravel path. This also fits in very well with the natural character of our campsite. Our paths are freshly gravelled and rolled every spring.

As you have correctly noticed, our sanitary building at the tent meadow serves to relieve our main building. A change is planned here for the next few years. We will soon be building a new, comfortable sanitary building. You can look forward to it.
